How to unlock the The Preeminent Warrior achievement in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty - Definitive Guide
Guan Yu is very strong and the range of his weapon is very large, in addition to being relentless in his attacks. He has enormous defense, requiring many dodges and fatal blows to defeat him. He is entirely based on lightning (Wood), so Metal (poison) is stronger against him. Guan Yu will chase him, constantly attacking him with his glaive without stopping. Therefore, the best way to beat him is to become good at dodging his attacks, eventually attacking with strong blows (using Y). He is very fast and never stops attacking. I used Tengshe as Divine Beast as it poisons him significantly and helps him deal some damage. The good thing is that he performs red attacks quite frequently and they are relatively easy to dodge and you should be prepared because he can do two, or even three red attacks in a row and make sure you punish him every time you stagger him.

Thanks, was very difficult to get him past 50% health with my fire build. Basically just swapped my Fire and Metal Virtue pts. Took everything Fire/Burn related on my build and replaced it with Toxic/Poison and then I slapped and couple Lightning Defence the armour for good measure. I use primarily used two spells, Thorny Ground (Metal) to slow him down and Haste (Water) to speed me up. Thorny Ground really worked out fantastic and made the double red attacks a little easier to deal with. Took him out first try with my Metal conversion.

This achievement unlocks upon completing the sub battlefield The Valiant and Magnificent General, which won't be available until you complete every Main and Sub Battlefield in this DLC. This will be the final mission of this DLC.
This mission is a duel against Guan Yu, and if you haven't grown to fear him from his presence in this game, you will from this fight. He's quite strong, has a huge reach with his weapon, and is pretty relentless in his attacks. His defense is massive, requiring many staggers and fatal strikes to finally beat him. He's entirely lightning (i.e. Wood) based, so Metal (poison) is what he's weak to. He will just chase you around, attacking you constantly with his glaive nonstop. Personally, the only way I was able to beat him was to get good at parrying his attacks, keep my distance, and kite him into my Imposing Slabs to continue to whittle away at his spirit gauge. I found virtually no openings to ever try to use regular attacks against him. He's just too fast and never stops attacking. I found Tengshe to be pretty solid Divine Beast against him, since it poisons him significantly and helps with doing damage. There's really not much else to say except practice, because you're unavoidably going to need to parry his attacks constantly to stay alive. The good news is that he does red attacks relatively often, and they're relatively easy to parry. Just be careful, because I swear he input-reads your controller, and if you try to unleash something after parrying one of his red attacks, he will virtually always do a second red attack. Be prepared for him to do two, or even three, red attacks in a row sometimes, and make sure you punish him each time you stagger him.
I had to stagger him a solid four times, with four fatal strikes, and two uses of my Divine Beast Tengshe, to finally take him down. This is the last fight of the DLC, so good luck!
