How to unlock the Nightmare Expert achievement in Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus - Definitive Guide

This isn't that bad when you know what enemies to expect and are prepared for when they enter.
-The best weapon for this is the shotguns as you should have enough ammo with them from walking over the enemies bodies to last the entire time.
-Its always best to keep moving to avoid being shot
-CLARION 85 pointed out you have a grenade so you can use that to throw at an entrance to hopefully get a kill at any point.

The first wave is 3 soldiers with 1 being armored.
The second wave is 4 normal enemies
3rd wave has 2 heavies drop in. you should position yourself in the spot behind where one drops in to kill it quickly. the other heavy will charge over to you from the other side so move over a bit and kill him.
After this things pick up with no real downtime between enemies
A wave of 6 enemies spawn so its best to keep moving to each of their entrance points on a rotation so you're not standing still and killing them.
Now 2 robot will enter followed by 5 more soldiers.

Again, if you keep moving its not bad. Petrie91 says running along the outskirts continuously when its just normal enemies allows you to reload and regain armor without being shot.
And if you fail it doesn't take long to restart so its easy to learn.

So heres clip of a complete run of it:

Another run:

And Here is a clip of my 1st time completing it. a very sloppy run where i had only 1 health in the end but it shows getting it done not fully prepared.

Finally got this after what felt like a 100 tries. I seemed to have trouble right from the beginning and losing too much health before the tougher enemies appeared. If you have similar problems, hopefully this post can help:

As soon as you start, equip double shotguns and reload them. Then equip the gewehr on one hand and hide behind a box you will see at your 2 o´clock. Aim the gewehr at the closest entrance at the right of a plank/board sticking out. Your aim will be perfectly adjusted to head length. Shoot the soldier, peak out and shoot the next, and finally the last one. Reload and do the same thing with the klansmen. After a few tries you will do this flawlessly.

Now the heavies will spawn and one of them will spawn right next to you, so fast equip double shotguns and shoot him in the back. Then side step and deal with the next one. If done right, you will have lost 0 health and you can now start sprinting towards the first entrance with the shotguns and then circle around the arena like the guide above explains.

I died so often at the robots, but now with more health it was not that difficult.

Good luck!

Another tip to conserve ammo is to just run into the foot soldiers if you stun them with the shotgun. You want that shotgun ammo to last as long as possible.

This one was a total bitch. The last two rounds were brutal for me.

Who knew 60-70 seconds could be so nerve-wracking

Thanks for the video guides, J2B9!

i found that you can run laps around the pitch for all waves (but not advised for the super soldiers and robots.) While sprinting around the outskirt, none of the normal enemies or clan members can touch you. In this time you are able to reload/pick up ammo and wait for your armor to regenerate back to 100.

Yeah Falcon i kinda mentioned that when saying to use the shotgun as you get ammo from the enemies but i made it more clear and i added the other tips. Thanks guys.

My bad, I kinda skimmed that portion of the guide and didn't catch it. It was very helpful, +1 from me. smile

Do you have to get a certain amount of points? I have completed it twice now and the achievement hasn't unlocked.

good guide, much like everything with this games stupid difficulties when i finally beat it, i did it practically unscathed doing exactly what i had done previously, it just worked that time instead of not... 100 health over 74 armor when i knocked it out ... such an inconsistent game on the hardest diff :/

I swear this isnt even possible unless the game has some kind of mercy setting or something. I can barely get past the 3rd wave, but even if I keep koving they have perfect aim. I have never seen a game whose difficulty was utterly broken like this

I agree. Fuck this challenge. It is simply retarded.

I just completed this and the trick that brought it all together has been stated by others: be ready for the robots! Not sure if they spawn in the same entrance every run but if you can spawn-camp/assault the first one, then that will hopefully be the turning point. Assault the 2nd robot, then assault the rest. By "assault", i mean sprint at your target then kill it with your guns at close range. Sprint kill sprint kill sprint...

Yeah so killing while keeping yourself moving still is the best way to get this done it seems. Seems that Renegade ended up getting it as well, unfortunate that monkey priest hasn’t yet but yeah keep moving seems to work for most.

Man does this one blow. Can barely even get up to the supersoldat parts. I just get destroyed and have no health/armor by then. Putting this on the backburner for now and when I feel like dealing with this shit I'll give it a go.

So it wasn't as bad when I finally came back to it. Took a few tries and runs to get used to it. Used double shotty the whole way and finish the last round barely with under 10 health.

Haha wow nice. Yeah I guess sometimes it's just easier or taking a break was just the key but either way it works.

got it in 10 minutes. not so difficult. Just remember to use your Ram Shackle abilities and try to take out the second heavy with it when he's charging towards you (spring towards him). It's useful to take out normal enemies and robots too.

thx...just go in cyrcle keep moving.
for the six White guys ( wave 4 ) i killed 5 then lined up the last one to the entrance where the robot spawn and throw your granate in that direction and fast kill the last guy, if done quick maybe you damage / kill the robot after this kill the other robot.
on the last wave it happens me a few times i had no idea what killed me so fast
but later i got it with full health and armour not to bad if you try this a few times...thx J2B9 for your solution

I can't believe I'm not seeing comments on the kinda sorta cheese method. Just did it with very few sweat bullets by dual weilding ARs until the 2 heavies are dead, then prone lean behind the boxes in the corner and finish the rest of the guys. Robots didn't hit me once, the bodies in the way is the only thing that kills you but other then that it's very reliable.

Struggled with this one for several hours last night and gave up. Tried again today and had the same issues until I dropped the difficulty and ran 2-3 on Call me Terror-Billy. I was finally able to get a feel for the spawns and the technique of incorporating your crush and melee. Nailed it with health, shields, and ammo to spare on my second run on IADI after.

Good luck to anyone else chasing this one!

For those who are poor shooters, there is a place on the map where you can sit out. VERY IMPORTANT - you need to sit right at the edge (sharp corner) of the box, then with a probability of 80% you will not be hit.
1 ox - 3 soldiers, 2nd wave - 4 dolls, 3rd wave - 2 super soldiers (we shoot one in the back, push the second with a running start), 4 ox - 6 dolls, 5th wave - 2 uber soldiers, 6 ox - 5 soldiers

At first glance, a difficult test, but it is trivialized by running in circles. The only thing that is important is to prepare for a wave of two super-soldiers and a wave of two robots. While you are running in circles, the enemies rush to the center of the field and try to shoot at you from there, but since you are in motion and they have to turn around, they cannot hit you. Run, shoot one at a time, change direction if necessary, while running, restore health and armor from fallen enemies - it’s very simple.
