How to unlock the Gun Nut achievement in Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus - Definitive Guide

NOTE : THIS IS NOT A COMPLETE GUIDE No one has created a complete guide for this Achievement yet! Only read on if you want a tip that helped me get this achievement that I am sharing here.

This solution is for 1 potentially easily missed Weapon Upgrade Kit ONLY
Pickup location is on Eva'a Hammer.

Note : As stated this is a guide/solution, for only for 1 possible easily missed location. If this did not help your individual situation please do not unfairly cast a negative vote without leaving a comment why.

You need a total of 21 Weapon Upgrade Kits to fully upgrade the 7 Weapons.
Most are easy to find through normal game play, and can also be tracked in the Districts on the War Table in the Helm. But if you were like me and finished the game with only 20/21, here is the location that got me the achievement.

The one I missed and finally found was located in Set Roth's Kill House, which unlocks not too far into the game. This is where you need to be quick and complete the Kill House in under 1.29 minutes for the First Loser Achievement.

So if you were like me and ran through this challenge with eyes on the targets only and didn't think to replay or go back and investigate the area, this is were you will find another Weapon Upgrade kit waiting for you. It is on the right hand side near some lockers in the very first section of the course after the first target.

Hope this helps someone.

Note : As stated this is a guide/solution only for 1 possible easily missed location. If this did not help your individual situation please do not unfairly cast a negative vote without leaving a comment why.

Thank you! I was afraid I had glitched the war map icons or something..

Anyone else having issues with this one? The map shows I have collected all of the weapon upgrades, and I've also collected the 3 on Eva's Hammer, yet I'm still somehow one upgrade short... Any ideas?

I'm also missing 1 upgrade kit, but I found 100% of them according the the Statistics page in the main menu... Looks like I'll have to start a new game if I want this achievement.

the achievement is for upgrading all weapons. your guide is for 1 weapon kit how is that a guide and i don't think the negative feedback is unjustified.

Thanks xNSHD for your feedback on my solution...I understand your point. The solution I posted was only to help players in the same situation I found myself in after finishing the game, and seeing no one else had added any complete guides I felt it could be useful info for some as it is easy to miss (I clearly did not set out to create an entire guide). This was my first ever solution posted, and wanted to do so as I felt this info might be helpful to some in the TA community.

Maybe glitched? Stats indicates I`ve collect 100% of weapon upgrades. Still I'm missing one. Probably related to reload the game before saving after collecting the upgrade and forget to re-collect it. Question is: Is there any way to know which one is missing so I don't have to go district by district all over again?

Unfortunately after a reload, if you did not save the first time it was collected and did not go back for it again after the reload, I do not believe there is a way to determine now which one is missing if they are all highlighted as collected on the map desk.

Solutions come in all forms and sizes. Just because he hasn't hand held people to getting the achievement entirely, the information he has presented is helpful. Therefore, thank you for taking the time to write this. Perhaps you could also link a video from youtube with all the other locations, there are plenty of them.

it may seem like everyone is being too harsh but its the truth, this guide really wasn't helpful. i think the likes are more of a confidence booster than people who actually found this "guide" useful.

It clearly states this solution is for 1 potentially easily missed Weapon Upgrade Kit only. No one said it it was a full guide....this is what got me the achievement because it was easy to miss....not my fault if this doesn't help everyone....I was just trying to help the community and site I use so much. No one else has still put any further guides up on this....but i'm sure this has helped my "confidence" from the charity votes i got. This is why I have rushed out and created so many other solutions.

Agree, Talon is clear from the start that it isn't a full solution. I'm 80% or so through the collectibles and saw this, and what do you know, I didn't have it, so thanks!

You may need to replay an area to re-collect an upgrade if you have diverted back to an earlier save point at some stage and did not go back and get it again, as the weapon upgrade kits do not appear to act in the same way as other collectables in the game and re-appear if you re-load an earlier save.....even if the war map indicates it has been collected....problem then is there is no way of determining which location you have missed now if they are all highlighted on the war map.

Note that there are three weapon upgrades in eva's hammer and they dont have icons in the war map, so be sure to have them before you jump to the next paragraph:

Just a Quick note to all of you who are looking for this achievement: It can happen to you, that it says you have 100% all gun upgrades, and in fact, in the war map it shows that, but in the weapon upgrade menu you are 1 upgrade short.

The reason being, it is possible that you pick one upgrade, die before a checkpoint and that upgrade is shown as collected in the war map, but it's not in the real game. (Respawns in the place you picked up again, and you no longer have the upgrade, even if you attached it before to a weapon).

If that happens to you, you have to go over all the districts to find the one you have to recollect.

Here is a series of videos with all the collectibles (Weapon upgrades included). In the video's description you have the video times to every collectible. I don't take credit for the videos.

New Orleans:

Venus:

Each of the seven standard weapons in the game - Pistole, Maschinenpistole, Sturmgewehr, Schockhammer, Kampfpistole, Laserkraftwerk, and Handgrenate - have three upgrades. As such, you will need to find a total of twenty-one Weapon Upgrade Kits over the course of your playthrough in order to upgrade all of them. These Kits are large, grey toolboxes that can be looted/picked up just like any other intractable item in the world.

If you do not end up finding the necessary amount of Upgrade Kits during your initial playthrough, fret not; you can revisit districts post-story via the War Map and collect anything (Kits and other collectibles) you may have missed. In fact, some Kits and collectibles can only be obtained when revisiting districts!

With all of this in mind, please refer to THIS TEXT-BASED GUIDE for a detailed look at twenty Weapon Upgrade Kits. Since you will need twenty-one Kits for this achievement, though, it's worth noting that:

  • There is a second Weapon Upgrade Kit in New Orleans - Bienville Street. It's located in plain sight as you enter the sewers towards the beginning of the district (assuming you are revisiting it via the War Map).

Additionally, several gamers have reported the following:

  1. The text-based may be off by a little bit, as there is another Kit in the same hidden alcove as the Battle Walker Contraption in Venus - Transporthalle.
  2. Some Kits may respawn when revisiting Districts, as after upgrading all of the weapons, the inventory menu still showed 8+ Kits remaining.

Once you have fully upgraded all seven weapons in the game, this achievement will unlock.

Since the previous video was removed from YouTube, I am redoing the hint:

Video guide to the location of all weapon upgrades in locations.
Video guide to the location of all weapon upgrades on Eva's Hammer (plus collectibles)

Unfortunately there is no single video.

It is worth noting that if you took an upgrade and died, it may happen that the map will indicate that you picked up the upgrade. If you get such a glitch, then you just need to go through all their locations, somewhere the missing one will lie.

On "Eva's Hammer" all upgrades are back at the location after returning from a mission. One at the entrance to the shooting gallery, on the right, the second when passing the shooting gallery with an electric trap at the beginning, after entering, turn right, and the third after testing a new device (stilts, for example) in front of the remote control.
This doesn't work on mein leben.

There are a total of 21 upgrades in the game. 3 on the submarine, 18 on locations, 15 of them can be collected while completing the story, the last 3 only when clearing the “Uberkommando”. Since the collectibles in this game cannot be missed, the best option is: go through the story, pick up what you saw, and then when you clear out the Ubers you will get the missing “collectibles” using this video guide .

It happened to me that I picked up an upgrade and then accidentally died almost immediately and I didn’t have it on my map, so if you picked it up, then save

The video guide from HaRJIeY_DaViDsOn missed two upgrades. The first in New Orleans - Bienville Street (mission to assassinate the Chief Commandant) - go down into the sewers at the beginning of the mission and, before reaching your goal, turn right. The kit will be waiting for the hero at the far end of the corridor.
The second transit sector on Venus (mission to kill the chief commandant) - to get to the chief commandant in this mission, Blaskowitz needs combat stilts. If you don't have them yet, they are in the shaft under the room where your target is holed up. Here at the very bottom lies the penultimate set in the game.
