How to unlock the Mein leben achievement in Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus - Definitive Guide

Greetings loved ones,

To unlock Mein leben you will need to beat the game once in any other difficulty. Mein leben seems to be the same as I am death incarnate! but you only have one life and are not able to save throughout your playthrough. You're going to want to practice in death incarnate because you can put saves wherever you want (up to 10 of them) and avoid watching the cutscenes repetitively as you will be forced to wait through them in Mein leben.

As you go through your initial play through of the game take note of where you have trouble and keep practicing that part until you feel confident you wont die there again. I recommend at least a second full playthrough on death incarnate so that you can test yourself on parts that you thought you were confident on but may have actually just gotten lucky through. You will likely find in repeating all of these sections that the enemies can do unpredictable things so the more you know about the game the better. I will have a video link below in case you'd like to see an example of a run through on Mein leben.

A few tips:
-I recommend picking the Fergus timeline and Battle Walker for the Laserkraftwerk and Extra/Regenerating health
-Enemies seem less likely to hit you while you are leaning and sprinting
-Your health/armor almost always carries over from scene to scene so it does help to end a level at full health (particularly useful when going into the Courthouse)
-Many triggers will despawn enemies behind you
-Many areas behind you will continue to be accessible as you carry on so you can backtrack if you need health or ammo
-You can use suppressed bullets or thrown axes to distract enemies
-Throwing axes are great for silently instant killing enemies but sometimes will bounce off armor so be ready to use a suppressed weapon as back up
-Practice parts you die on until you never or rarely die again

I'm very open to feedback if you have suggestions on improving this guide so please let me know :)
Good Luck!

That's a fair point, sorry. I didn't read that comment properly and I went straight into panic mode because Microsoft are more than capable of something like that

I've done some of the most gruelling difficulty-related achievements that existed on the 360 (not too many on the ONE to be honest, losing my edge with age haha) so I am up for decent challenge...

...what I am not up for is wasting hours into a game with nothing to show for it

The only game I cheesed was a Dead Space (I think it was 3) that had this same achievement. I played the entire game game legit and only died once at the end in a clunky set-piece action sequence

I've had my fair share of middle fingers pointed at me over the years with achievements that my friends have all cheesed and I did legit. It's annoying but I don't let it bother me

The reality is:

Am I good enough to get the achievement? Yes
Am I willing to put the time in? No

I suppose that means I don't deserve to have it unlocked on my profile, and with no decent cheese on the menu, combined with other games constantly drawing my attention, it probably never will be

Probably shouldn't be chatting this over in the solution though, somebody will get angry and report me

This and some tips from IXI FalcoN's guide too had helped out a lot. I ended up doing a lot of things my own way in some areas as my run was very messy even though I could run through every level almost flawlessly on my "I am death incarnate!" practise runs. Got it on my second attempt believe it or not. Thank-you!

Other than alerting enemies earlier and just dealing with them best I could to get past areas the only big difference I did was during the Manhatten Penthouse section I would run over and jump behind a chair near the weapon upgrade and they can't hit you as far as my runs have proven. I'd crouch then lean downwards to the right and they do eventually spot you and try to shoot you but can't. However they will throw some grenades (Usually 1-3 in my case) which you can easily throw back by bouncing off the shelves next to you. I just wasn't comfortable and when I ran through the game on "I am death incarnate!" for my first time I struggled and ended up trying to jump up and over random objects lol

I got this achievement two months ago. I thought I'd share this specific strategy I came up with for the last fight with 2 big robots which makes it 50% easier.

follow Kreeper's guide until u kill the 3rd and 4th Supersoldat. after that switch one of your shotguns to the Laserhawk and start charging it. at the meantime kill the 5th and 6th Supersoldat with your shotgun. when they're dead stand directly between the panels which the last 2 supersoldat came out from and aim for somewhere high near the top of the tower above the big door which the robots gonna rush out from. If u do this correctly, when the first robot rushes out, it stops few inches from you and because he's much taller than you, your aim(which was on the tower) now is close to his head and you can blow him up quickly with one fully charged laser headshot. then run to the area beneath and deal with the second robot as you wish. I suggest practicing this first before attempting on ML.

Edit: Summarizing all of this: Destroy the first robot as soon as it gets out with a fully charged Laserhawk headshot.

Finally did it myself! One thing I've noticed that none of the few videos seem to point out or do, was I found it beneficial to grind some of the perks along the way. The three main ones I would intentionally try to grind were Grenade Throwbacks, Electric Stun Kills, & Environmental Kills.

I was able to get between 6-9 of the 10 you need to max the Grenade Throwback perk in the room just after the Fuel Tank explosion in first level (second commander room). I found this extra 1.5 seconds delay on grenades bonus made the courthouse a breeze nearly every time.

For the Electric Stun kills I would generally clear a room minus a sleeping robot. Throw a grenade at them, then quickly shoot them. I found this 50% less damage from Lasers nice and allowed you to take a full frontal barrage from a Heavy and keep going strong.

For the Environmental Kills, I would stealth as much as I could the first areas and then shoot explosives. I would have about 8 or 9 by the end of the wheelchair scene and managed about 20 by end. This gave me a 20% less damage from Explosives and gave me a little extra protection for the final boss who spams explosives at you.

I know overall it adds probably an half hour to a playthrough to grind them, but if you're like me and slow & steady, might help you win the race~!

@Gilbert Prime, don't let one hard achievement keep you from playing a GREAT game. Believe me I was in your shoes for a long time and put the game off until this year. I am so happy I played it and now it's one of my favorites.

Every other achievement is not bad at all, including the DLC ones. Main campaign Mein Leben is hard, but not impossible by any means. It's actually a fun ride (except the cut scenes) and when you finish it, you feel incredibly satisfied. I kind of miss the craziness.

It took me about 10 hours of practicing on IADI, and 4 Mein Leben attempts to get the achievement. The first 3 attempts I died at the Roswell Lift part since it's so inconsistent (on my 4th attempt I tried Flipy Fliperson's strategy for that section and it worked flawlessly). My successful Mein Leben run took just under 3 hours.

If you or anyone ever give this a try and is stuck on a specific section, feel free to message me on Xbox and I'll try to help you out with strategies. One final advice is to watch all 3 guides posted here on TA and select the strategy you feel most comfortable with for each section. Also, don't be afraid to craft your own strategies - I did on several occasions, including the entire New Orleans dog level. I didn't touch the dog at all and sneaked about 90% of the level.

How feasible/possible is it to do a majority of an IADI run in full stealth? My first play through was on Bring it On and I found I could get through quite large sections of the game without setting off an alarm.

I don't think enemies on higher difficulties are any more aware than the ones on lower difficulties so it is probably very feasible to do most of your run in full stealth if you can manage it :D

As someone who has beaten Max Payne 3 NYMHC, I would hope that the difference between that and Mein Leben is that the latter is less buggy, and there's also no timer.

@Bonus Eruptus - Thank you! :) So for the part you mentioned, I don't think the commanders actually show up UNTIL you drop down. Also, if you were to destroy the heavies from the top they would be alerted right when you drop down. That is the way I remember it anyway so please let me know if I'm mistaken headspin
0
0
By Kreeper V on 18 Nov 2017 22:55
That's what surprised me, actually. Only one alerted was the second heavy, who looked in on the first, and got killed himself. Dropped down a few seconds later, crept up to the fence, and there was a guy walking around the two bodies, but didn't seem to be on alert whatsoever, until I whiffed a shot into his shoulder.

By Bonus Eruptus on 18 Nov 2017 23:36
Ahh I see... I'd be interested to hear if you can get a reliable path through this way. Mine works about 9/10 because the first commander sometimes goes a slightly different route but if you can avoid the commanders entirely and not risk the alarm that would be ideal

I would suggest getting the ram shackles in New Orleans, Bienville Street before you start up the last level. It's at the beginning of the level and as soon as you have them you can return to the U boat via the menu.

Made it to the Courthouse, leaned out too much, and died.

Even after practicing that section for hours and feeling confident.

Ugh. The first half the game is comfortable, but that damn Courthouse...

0
By BiggDope on 20 Nov 2017 01:47
Even on very easy, I died a shitload on the Courthouse until I figured out I needed to run all the way upstairs where I could hide in an unshootable alcove and funnel enemies through the door as a chokepoint. Plus, you're right by the ammo refills.

I have no idea how hard that's going to be on Ultra-Hard/Mein Leben, and don't intend to find out soon.

Is this officially the legitimately hardest achievement ever made? Not including time consuming grindfests like Seriously 3.0 and the like, just straight up difficulty-based achievements. There's no way to cheese it, no workarounds, nothing. You either can do it or you can't. I thought Uprising (Overwatch) on Legendary was tough as hell but many people had it done in days. This is on a whole other level.

By The SCHWARTZ 00 on 20 Nov 2017 15:42
@Schwartz, I'd say it's up there. I obviously don't play many more than a few games a year, so there's probably a few tougher/tough ones out there, but based off the simple fact that only 2-4 tracked gamers have unlocked this in two weeks...it's very, very hard.

But doable.

Walkthrough videos can offer some help or trick, but it's not as much as you might hope. This game has a very unpredictable A.I. during the firefights and if you get spotted. You must do a lot of areas stealthly and your stealth style must be perfect. Almost no room for error. For example, if you miss a headshot against a commander or you don't kill a dog quickly, if you get spotted even if just for 1-2 seconds, prepare to have a lot of problems.

Sorry if I seem ignorant, I've only played the trial and thus done the first level as I'm waiting for my copy to arrive, but how are you bypassing all the microwave zappers? Like how are you just reversing the conveyor as soon as falling out of the wheelchair, without having to fight all the way around that section?
0

By Roose91 on 24 Nov 2017 10:53
^^^in the room before getting on the conveyer belt, do not activate any traps in there. Its on the same circuit and if you leave them on before leaving you'll have to go the long way.

The only traps you should fuss with are the very first ones.

^It's one life, no saves, nothing. If you can't do it in one sitting you can leave your console on and come back, but you cannot close the game out or return to the main menu or it's back to square one.

A full run takes about 3.5 hours, including cutscenes.

I finally beat Mein Leben after only like a dozen attempts. The hardest part was definitely the courthouse but there is a location under one of the stands behind the left most camera facing you at the start. There’s a heavy weapon placed under one of the counters here which you can use to easily kill Nazis and the two super soldiers in this section of the courthouse. The best part is if you crouch under one of the counters the enemies will not be able to find you. They’ll slowly make their way down the stairs near you so you can shoot them quickly with the heavy weapon but they will not be able to find you in this spot. This also means that they won’t throw any grenades at you. The drawback to this strategy is that it can take a good 10+ minutes before the super soldiers spawn as the enemies take forever to make their way over to your hiding place. It may take quite a while to complete, but if done right, you can easily get through the first half of the courthouse without losing any health.

@Jamal2807 You CAN skip cutscenes. The beginning of the game has 2 scenes that are a few minutes that can’t be skipped because you have control of your character and can look around so that’s not a cutscene unfortunately (also one halfway through the game). Every other point in the game is actual cutscenes and can be skipped.

This is the stupidest thing I've ever seen in my life and anyone dumb enough to fall for this troll job is insane. I think I'm gonna boycott the next game if they pull BS like this, like I'm just sick of it.

Anyone who puts unskippable cutscenes in such a mode deserves terrible terrible karma, and anyone who makes this kind of achievement, should quit making games. It's just sick what people do to achievements, should keep this crap for in-game rewards, not ruin achievements. (what I really want to say about the people at Machine games isn't suitable for internet)

I've done Evil Within's Akuma and Classic mode, so I'm not some inpatient chump. I just have zero desire to watch that freaking opening scene and watch BJ's dog die 200 times just to try and accomplish this.

SaltCitySlasher, Bro you need to calm down. Its honestly not that bad, you need to practice the game and take it slow. The achievement takes patience and persistence, I got to the end 3 times before getting it.

Honestly after you master courthouse the game becomes significantly easier. Look up current speed runs of the game, you can skip entire levels by getting out the map on Mars and New Orleans. Practice the last fight.

By Its Dan on 30 Jul 2018 06:00
@Salty - For someone who hasn't done this yet, I 100% agree with what Dan has advised you.

I have a friend who has done this and he said to just keep on practicing specific parts within the game you find particularly hard in on 'Death Incarnate' even if it takes a really long time. Is just like they say, "practice makes perfect".

Its all about persistence and your test of endurance.
If you really, really want to get this achievement, just try your best to keep up with it and you'll get what you deserve.

There's plenty of strategies now that can help you and I'm sure there's something that can easily make your play through a little more easier.

Don't give up! toast

I've just started this yesterday for the first time without practicing, after almost two years that I don't touch the game, because I want to get this off before I proceed with my studies, so when I have some free time, I can play something that I actually enjoy playing. Right now, without practicing on "I Am Death Incarnate!", I reached 2/3 of the game, thanks to some strategies made by Kreeper and some that I've made by myself. This last run was REALLY good and flawless, even the courthouse and the penthouse were a joke for me, but of course, I died in one amazingly stupid way:

On Manhattan, inside the Nuclear Bunker, when you have to kill the two commanders before you retrieve the dossier, one of those two idiots have a grenade launcher pistol, THAT thing got me with one shot at 200 health and 100 armor. And I even shot the commander before he could fire at me.

I'm not even mad at this point, but I'm really, really disappointed. I just hope to get this done by tomorrow.

There has to cheese, we need to look harder
0
0
By Sneaky G Wizard on 28 Jul 2020 02:29
@Sneaky G Wizard The whole point of this is that there is no save at all. You die, you restart. All in one sitting unless you leave it paused. So there's no way to manipulate cloud/local or any save because there isn't one there that's being saved to recover.
You'd probably be able to do a save trick like other games with one-life if it allowed multiple sittings as then there would have to be a save file.

The best "cheese" there will be is a few certain areas you can learn to glitch through the wall to skip, but its probably not worth it for the most part as it can be tricky. And the 3 Most tricky major parts in this game (courthouse, End of NY, Final Battle) already have had multiple people posting reliable strategies that make it pretty safe honestly.

during the train sequence, you can literally just run and gun all the enemies really easily, you just have to stick to the right side of the train for most of the way. I saw it in a speedrun that I was looking at and it worked perfectly to go through a section like that.

I am 35 years old. I don't get much time for gaming between my career and my family, I mean, it's not like it was in my 20's. When I get on to play Xbox, I make sure it counts (a game I love, or to get Gamerscore). The thought of winding my precious time into this achievement, like the comment says above, is just beyond me

Yeah Im just wondering if anyone's tried it cause this achievement would be a lot easier if I could just do like a level a day and not have to worry about keeping my console on if I gotta go to work or something it should be like gears where u can keep the ironman save file as long as you don't die but it is what it is you guys are probably right I'm not gonna risk it when I start going for this achievement maybe with one of the dlc ones for mein leben I might try it just for future reference

To anyone who is iffy about going for this, it's not nearly as bad as you might think. As long as you have a proper strategy it's all just a matter of memorization. I got the achievement on this version and the Windows version in the same 24hr period. All I did was take the videos in this guide and stitch them together to make a strategy/path that worked best for me. It IS daunting but not even close to impossible. I know yall can do it!

Holy shit, congratulations! I just beat it on the easiest setting last night, and that last fight with the Zerstörer was a pain in the ass. It looks like you skipped completely over the part I was going to give a tip on, but it may help others.

At 2:58:12, right before you drop down and skip the heavies, I noticed last night that the commander's signals don't trigger until you're on the lower level. I took out the heavies with the kampfpistole's rockets, as well as a few others. If I'd known where the commanders were before I dropped, I should've been able to lean from the top and take them out before they even show up. After that, you could probably sneak through without anyone seeing you whatsoever.

Curious to know. Do you have to finish this in one sitting, or are there checkpoints that you can come back to later? The reason I ask: If there are check points, having 2 consoles would really help this. Simply play from one, and use the second console as a back up save. When you make acceptable progress, play the game with the second console and update the save. then go back to the first. that should make life easier. or just playing offline and if you die, delete your console save and update the cloud save back to console.

Quick Update: I just got the achievement two hours ago! It wasn't hard, but it truly was a test of patience (Thanks to all the unskippable cutscenes and all the beautiful bugs I've encountered along the road). It was a surprise to see that the hardest parts of the game were the easiest for me. I must also thank Kreeper V and IXI FalcoN for all the sweet tips they gave in their respective videos. I suggest to watch their videos and mix your strategies with theirs. That's what I did and it worked perfectly fine for me. Also, don't be like me, that after almost two years that I didn't touched the game, I went straight for this achievement without practicing through any level.

I've also streamed my run so I can have some proof/memories of this achievement, even though I don't like streaming. And now, while I wait for the Season Pass to go on sale, I will do this on Windows 10 too, but this time, since I already know what strategies I have to use, and thanks to the help of the mouse, this will be much, much easier for me.

Good luck for the people that are still trying to get this achievement, and don't worry, you will eventually get it, just keep trying. It's not hard, it's just tedious. And if someone needs help for any kind of achievement like this that I've already unlocked, feel free to send me a message and I will try my best to help you out! smile

Achievements like this should simply not exist. Its one thing to ask to do the game on hard and be able to chip at it slowly, its even another one to have a "no death" achievements as long as you can at least save and do acts 1 by one, and the game not asking you to do it on the hardest, but putting all these together is just crazy. How can anyone would be willing to do this is beyond me...

First I would like to thank Kreeper V for posting his guide and video as it was definitely an asset to me when completing my run. My guide here is not intended to compete with his, but to act as an additional aid showing some different strategies through areas. While I did borrow a couple from him, most of these I came up with on my own. I recommend reading his guide and watching his video in addition to my own here.

I also use the Fergus timeline and chose the Battlewalker for my first upgrade. You can also acquire the Ram Shackles quite easily after Venus by selecting the Bienvelle Street in the enigma machine. You'll need 4 codes to decode this, you should have plenty by this point. You only need to kill 4 enemies who all have their backs to you to get to the Ram Shackles. You can pause and exit the mission when you collect them, so it's very low risk. Do the upgrade mission back on the Evas Hammer for armor regen, which is very helpful for the final mission. With armor regen you can pickup 1 piece of armor and regenerate in increments of 25, meaning you can go from 0 to 100 armor easily by just picking any 4 amounts of armor.

It's also a good idea to turn the music down to 0 in the options menu. This helps with hearing enemy footsteps and grenades, especially during the Courthouse section.

Always backtrack and scour around for health and armor before proceeding to the next area. I highlight in my video when/where despawn points are so you know when you can safely backtrack.

Take advantage of overcharging your health in the first half of the game, it can help you eat some extra damage that would otherwise kill you had you just had the stock 50 health.

When doing stealth sections, it's a good idea to have the pistol in one hand and the rifle or shotgun in the other hand as a backup if things don't go right.

You'll need to practice and perfect EVERYTHING if you want to complete this, but these areas were the trickiest to master or were more inconsistent than others for me:

1. Roswell Lift Section (very finicky and inconsistent)
2. Roswell Oberkommando room (before and after the bomb)
3. Courthouse (hardest part obviously)
4. New Orleans Doggy Ride (if the dog dies before you get to the factory you're basically screwed and sometimes you get ripped up in the streets, sometimes you don't)
5. Venus Aerostat run to the escape pod
6. Venus Transport Hall exterior shortcut (make sure you have this mastered before doing it in a real run as failing it will likely get you killed)
7. Ausmerzer penultimate battle (not too bad with my strat, just make sure you know what you're doing or you can die pretty quick here)
8. Ausmerzer final battle (The Riot Spot is pretty solid, but you need to master the rush for the ladder. Once you have it down it works pretty well)

Weapon Upgrade Locations and what I used them for

1. Evas Hammer, first time entering shooting range to the right (Suppressed Pistol)
2. Manhatten Harbor, straight ahead after going up the fire escape in the first building (Rifle Armor Piercing Rounds)
3. Manhatten Subway, on the right inside the switch room after killing the heavy. (Laser Supercharge)
4. Manhatten Ruins, in a side room to the right after climbing the stairs in the second building (SMG nail mod)
5. Manhatten Penthouse, just in front of the corner I hide in. (Save for shotgun).
6. Evas Hammer, at the start of the kill house on the right by some lockers. (Save for shotgun).
7. Roswell, after stealth killing the first guy and dropping down, in a corner right where I fall. (Save for shotgun. Apply all 3 of these to shotgun when you acquire it on the train).
8. Mesquite, in the basement of the house. (SMG drum mag)
9. Evas Hammer, next to the switch you press to exit the contraption test course. (Rifle Scope).
10. Bunker, in a room behind the first commander. Use BW to reach it. (Rifle Extra Mags).
11. Bunker, in the final room on some crates right before using the BW to climb up. (Laser Extra Ammo)
12. New Orleans Wall, inside a small room to the right after dropping down behind the heavy. (Grenade Electromagnetic)
13. New Orleans Ghetto, after grenading the 4 nazis and killing the heavy outside the bus depot, at the back of a side room on the first floor right when you enter. (Pistol Extended Mag)
14. Venus Aerostat, in the first side room where you stealth kill the second nazi of this level. (Laser Scope).
15. Venus Transport Hall, after climbing a tall ladder, turn around and drop down to a small ledge. (Didn't use.)
16. Venus Oberkommando, after the conveyer belt section, it's in your path on the way to the second commander. (Didn't use.)
17. New Orleans Streets district, on some pallets just in front of the 4th guy you need to kill. (Didn't use).

And without further ado, here is the video. I left it completely intact, cutscenes and all. There's some pause breaks here and there, but nothing long. The worst is right before the Bunker, it's just a few mins long. Check the YT description for timestamps to go straight to any individual level. You'll need 3.5 to 4 hours to complete this.

Thanks for your guide, IXI FalcoN. I’ve so far watched the lot and played alongside it on an IADI run. It highlighted a few areas I needed to practise. I made it slightly harder on myself as I chose the Dieselkraftwerk but it was doable. I tried your solution for the ladder/boss trick at the end but only managed to get it to work once. I think I’ll probably stick to Kreeper’s method for that, otherwise I’ll be using your guide for ML shortly! Thanks again, so helpful.

Thanks for adding more info on top of Kreeper's guide. I used some of your tips and strats along with he's guide and helped out a lot for me. I liked the way you handled the Ausmerzer part right before the final stage. I felt more comfortable staying down bottom and shooting them from there, especially the dogs. I Got it on my second attempt believe it or not.

An easy way to beat the conveyor belt on Venus is to use the grenade pistols with the rocket upgrade. There's even ammo for them right before you start. I was able to get through that section with most of my armor with one grenade pistol and one rifle, then got through it unharmed just dual wielding the grenade pistols.

Thanks, man. The feeling of disappointment and emptiness was not something I’d wish on my worst enemy. Congrats yourself on actually doing it twice.

For the panzerhund section I’d like to emphasize the importance of “hauling ass”. Getting to the end of the street before the blimp drops off more enemies is essential to keeping your health. That and running through the lakeview district at the end of the level were the scariest sections for me.

@Falcon, yes, sir! The first two times I tried your method, the rush to the ladder went really well. But after that, there were a lot of runs where: a) infantry would get in the way on my sprint there, b) the mech that zooms out of the hanger turns around and blasts me while the other is stunned (while I'm climbing the ladder, or before I can get on), or c) the infantry soldiers in the hanger break my stride and block my sprint to the ladder.

It makes me nervous. Since that is obviously the very, very end of the playthrough. It's the only section I can't get down consistently in practice runs.

Granted, I haven't even made it past the Courthouse on my Mein Leben attempts redface

By BiggDope on 05 Dec 2017 16:59
Keep practicing, once you have it down it works very well. I'd say it's about an 80% success rate. I think I did 15 trial runs myself. I never had infantry get in my way on practice runs, but in the video it did happen and they delayed me slightly. As long you have full health and armor (or close to it), you can eat the blast. With armor regen you can maintain 100 armor quite easily by picking up some pieces from the dead heavies and if you do lose some health it regens +3 for every kill.

The most important factors to getting this to work are:
1. killing the 2 infantry that come out with the big guys (1 at the hanger door, 1 next to the ladder inside - they're always there)
2. Throwing the stun grenade properly as to not damage yourself. Throw it to the right of the mech, it has a pretty decent blast radius. Make sure you don't have the other grenade mods turned on or you might take additional damage. Electromagnetic only.
3. Use the battle walker stilts to get a headstart up the ladder.

If you do all of this quickly and smoothly you'll make it up before the big blast every time. If you're a little slow but have the health and armor you can eat it like I did in the video because the additional infantry blocked me a little.

Alternatively, when the big guys rush out you can abandon the corner and head underground and try to laser them like Kreeper does. Laser in one hand, rifle or shotgun in the other should work well as you'll have to fend off random infantry.

1:08:26 If anyone wants a tip to make the jump to the train first try. Once on the railing hold down the run button without moving, then push forward and jump together. I kept failing doing all three at once, and that ended many a run for me.

Hello everyone,

First, I would like to give credit to Kreeper V and IXI FalcoN. Overall I used a lot of their strategies. I also used the shorcuts MrKZdemos used for his speedrun. Lastly, Gaming with Abyss for the courthouse 1st half strategy. For the Venus shorcut, I found a safer route. And I found a different strategy to complement MrKZdemos courthouse strategy.

This video/guide was completed in IADI, but I used the same exact strategies to complete the Mein Leben achievement. I am not great at FPS by any means (as will be clearly demonstrated in the video). As is the case, I thought some of my strategies would help others find a way to get the achievement.

As IXI Falcon stated, practice, practice, practice. You have 10 save slots per game, but you have 2 slots you can use for saves (leaving the 3rd slot for Mein Leben), for a total of 20 saves to use as practice spots. And especially practice the final battle until you can't stand it any more. I had about a 90% success rate with the final battle, and I was able to finish it the first time I actually made it to the end.

Anyway, good luck everyone!!!!!!

Good luck DJ. If I can do it, I really do believe anyone can do it. You just have to have some open hours and lots of patience. I was my own worse enemy as well. My nerves would get to me a lot.

Great fucking guide, Its long, but worth it to watch everything. I used this all the way up to the final level. That's when things when tits up for me. All about luck this achievement, I had a glitch on the final level too where Anya wouldn't move and I had to restart again. As a side note, using this guide I never found courthouse hard anymore. The most difficult mission for me was probably, the final one since it was the most RNG based mission.

Thanks Dan, and I agree. The last mission before the final fight can get a little tricky. It's best to give that one a lot of practice and see the curve balls it can throw at you. I never had the Anya glitch, but that would totally blow that far into the game. Best of luck to you!

Great guide Flipy, used your strategies for the Penthouse, Roswell lift section, crossing the hall in New Orleans and the Panzerhound run. Using your ways and my own I finally managed to complete Mein Leben. My greatest gaming achievement so far I reckon. Cheers Dude.

Thanks for the guide. I can tell a lot of effort went into it. Unfortunately there's one strategy that is consistently failing me. The top of the elevator, right after you do the skip and run up the left rail. I just got killed, and it wasn't even close. Big guy was standing right in front of me after hopping the rail. Two other occasions produced similar results, with me barely escaping. But... I'm looking forward to those opening cut scenes again. Nothing like watching your racist asshole father beat your mom again!

Definitely going to try going left at the top. I'll still go in hot, but that big guy's path is on the right. Should be able to avoid him. Thanks for the reply. Oh, on my 3rd attempt tonight, after cleaning the room with 5 guys before the conveyor belt, my game straight crashed. Idk what to do at this point. Shatters my confidence that the game won't do it again much later in the game.

Mine never crashed (thankfully!) I did leave it on overnight one time, and an update did me in. Something definitely seems fishy about yours. Maybe uninstall/reinstall???? I was well into my 20th attempt before I finally got it! My nerves were so on edge, I had to stop several times to recompose myself!

Got it! Thanks, Flipy, for the post, the video and all your replies. Ignore the down votes. Bunch of twats who don't stop to consider how much effort it takes anyone to make a solution, especially a long play with commentary.

Awesome! Congrats and thank you for the kind words PNibbles. It was a pain getting that together, especially being my first attempt doing a video with commentary. Best of luck to you with the rest of the achievements.

I really wanted to thank you for this guide. It is incredibly well made and the commentary is very enjoyable. I couldn’t have gotten this achievement without you or IXI FalcoN.

I implemented most of your strategies except the slower ones because I’m impatient lol. The skips are also HUGE. For anyone attempting this achievement today, study these out of the map gliches. Cheers!

I'm ashamed to say how many times I watched those opening scenes (and all the rest)! I never had that issue in that section. I hated the run for your life strategy, but it seemed to work every time for me there. Maybe try hopping over to the left and go that way, or fight your way. I did try the fighting strategy and I found a safe spot on the right side. Run up the left rail and drop down on the lower platform to cross over to the right side. The only thing you have to watch for is the guy at the top of the stairs. If you time it right he will not see you. You can then jump on top of the cargo trailers and fight in relative safety. It is a long fight though.

Thanks for the down vote, but I did state that it was completed in IADI. I used the exact same strategies for earning the Mein Leben achievement. I just did not feel like playing Mein Leben again. There are some new strategies in the areas where I struggled, so I thought it might be able to help a few people.

I didn't see this mentioned in any of the guides but on Series X/S, the quick resume feature does work, so you don't necessarily have to do it in one sitting. Just understand that quitting or removing the game from quick resume will end your attempt.

I actually found a safe strategy for the the end part, I've tried this strategy 10 times, and always been consistent for me, so if anyone is still going for this Achievement and finding the ending part difficult, here's the video.

The "Mein leben" difficulty will unlock once you have completed the Campaign at least once. On this difficulty, which is actually set to "I am death incarnate," you will only have one life. Additionally, you cannot save. This means that if you die during your playthrough, you are sent back to the Main Menu. Fortunately, you are able to pause your game should you need a break.

For high-level tips and strategies involved with this difficulty setting, please refer above to "I am death incarnate!" for more information.

A successful, uninterrupted playthrough on "Mein leben" should take around 3-4 hours to complete depending on your playstyle. Feel free to utilize the commentary-assisted video walkthrough below, courtesy of KreeperV. Thanks for all the tips and motivation, KreeperV!

NOTE: For an additional, commentary-assisted video walkthrough, there's also THIS GUIDE by TheFalcon. Thanks for the excellent walkthrough, TheFalcon!

Under no circumstances should you take health from the <<Eva's Hammer>> submarine. After I took health and entered into dialogue with the NPC, I was thrown out of the game with an error, and at the end it happened 2 times, I took health and went to talk to the NPC after celebrating other years “regarding Fergus’s missing hand” an error occurred... I observed The bug is only on the Russian version of the game!!!

As "hE7EL" writes, this is true. The bug is still observed today (02/27/2020)
We celebrated the birthday of "Blackovitsa", I go down to the NPS - dialogue - departure. There is a solution to the problem. After celebrating his birthday, we don’t talk to the guy who’s crashing the game, but immediately run to the hangar and take Fergus’s hand, give the hand back, finish the level and enter the final battle on the Ausmerzer.

I made mein leben in 10 attempts, I took almost all the strategies from the video, be sure to watch it - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZgpPrvuq9U&t=6612s
I advise you to select all weapon upgrades, they help a lot
Up to Roswell everything goes without problems, the penthouse is elementary without a glitch
At the station, after you pull the lever, wait a couple of seconds, if you jump right away, you will crash into an invisible wall, on the train there will be a moment when a super soldier goes around the tank, I usually distracted him with a shot and calmly ran to the car, there may be a Fritz standing there, throw a hatchet at him, if it’s not worth it, then just go to the end of the train, he will have his back turned, kill at your discretion
After you insert the nuclear into the reactor, you need to quickly blow up the citadel (a healthy robot) if you didn’t have time, there is a chance that it will go outside the gate and spam missiles at you through the glass
The trial is very easy, the main thing is to sit quietly and don’t look out and preferably pick up 2 shockhammers, with them it’s easier to run away from the hall and catch the robot
on the submarine, don’t forget to pump up the stilts
It's very easy to die in the bunker, follow the guide strictly, at the end one of the commandants will have a one-shot pistol
Night Orleans I went through a speedrun from psntrophies except that at the entrance to the plant I completely cleared out all the Nazis, the sewers are very easy to run through
In Lakeview, when you get out of the pipe, first kill the Nazi in front of you, then go into the house and kill the second one from the door, then calmly blow up two thugs with a laser and 2 more ordinary soldiers will come to you, kill them with a stormtrooper, if something goes wrong, you can climb in It's very easy to shoot into the pipe there
Venus is very random, following the guide exactly will not save you from a random alarm, I’ll only say about the balloon (first location) if the alarm is raised, then run to the first room from here it’s very convenient to fire, on my final route I did it that way, in general it’s better to use fully improved ones on Venus pistols
After Venus, be sure to take and download power brackets; the video shows where to get them
In Ausmerzer it is also better to play with pistols, I went through it exactly according to the guide
In the last location with the officer, for some reason the robotic dog always immediately attacks you, I just instantly kill him with a pumped-up machine gun, and then kill the officer from the same position
And finally bossfight
He is incredibly random, he acted like this:
After killing the second batch of bots, he reloaded the shotguns and killed first the Fritz on the right, then on the left, and immediately dealt with the third batch of super-soldiers, then he took the laser in his right hand, reloaded the shotguns and began to charge the super shot, then gave it strongly to the left, there will be a Fritz 100% there, kill him and We immediately run to the midline, there may be a couple of starters there, but they die easily with one shot. Now the most important thing is that when the robot flies out of the gate, at that moment he will stay in afk for 1 second and you need to hit the head with a laser, THIS WILL KILL HIM IMMEDIATELY. We run back to the right, the second robot flies out and fires another shot at the body, then we run into the corridors under the arena and kill a couple of Hans who came, then we run out and fire another shot at the robot and it explodes. At the final race, I was very lucky, when I ran to finish off the bot, I received a bunch of hits and was left with 50hp, barely surviving. It is worth noting that in the houses in the corners of the arena there is healing and armor, but the super-soldiers are very actively firing at them.
I hope that helped. I myself suffered with mein leben, the main thing here is to never give up and hold on until the last, I wish everyone good luck and patience)

There is a glitch for the penthouse. Video guide (en).
But I recommend not killing the Ubersoldier, but simply running past him to the other end of the room or floor, the helicopter will kill him on its own. Look out only with a quick movement of the stick up and immediately down, otherwise you will be seen.
In court, he sat under the table, took a machine gun and shot everyone, after killing two Uber soldiers, he ran to the door (where they usually shoot in the video behind the box), killed the dog and flew to the second floor to meet the robots
On Venus, be extremely careful with the glitch because it can cause you to fly into the textures, so it requires precision

look for a place in each location where they will attack you from a minimum number of sides, ideally from one, and take them all down) the speedruns mentioned above don’t always work out) well, specifically for me... it’s easier to kill everyone on the level and calmly reach end. This is especially true for levels after the trial. There are a lot of enemies, and sometimes it’s not really possible to run through unnoticed. You can also look through everything that is posted on the passage on this difficulty, and choose for yourself what is more convenient for you. You don’t have to go through one video at a time. In some places my enemy placement doesn't match.
My versions of some levels that caused me great difficulty at the beginning

The sixth Ubersoldier can not be killed immediately, but a little later along with the usual ones, then it’s easier to throw a grenade.
In the video above, a grenade is not used, but I threw a grenade at the moment the first robot took off, killed two soldiers in the hangar with shotguns and jumped onto the stairs from stilts. After about 30 attempts, I secured it, and it worked on the main liben the first time (even though there were 20 HP left).
Video guide (en), from 1:28:24.

General tips:
1. The armor is transferred to the trail. level, so before leaving the level you need to pick up everything you can.
2. After receiving the stilts, immediately upgrade them.
3. In the hub location between missions, always replenish ammo and charge the laserkraftwerk.
4. After improving the stilts in the shooting gallery, you can additionally take 80hp (4 x 20), it seems they are transferred to the mission.
5. Near the shooting range there is a room where you can climb the stairs and find 100 armor.
6. I preferred to kill enemies stealthily in close combat in order to improve my crouching speed.

7. If the method indicated in the guides does not work out very well, you can try to find another one.
For example, I passed the train on a Panzerhund like this:
- I immediately got off the dog.
- He blew up a car in front of the gate.
- Sitting behind the car, he shot everyone until the officer came running.
- At the entrance to a building with a bunch of soldiers, he blew up an Ubersoldier and ran back to the entrance to a long alley.
- While shooting, he destroyed the second uber-soldier, a robot and several ordinary soldiers.
- I sat on the dog and cleared the building (the main thing is not to climb forward and pick up the armor).
- The sewer is already in stealth, along the left wall.

8. Don't burn. Most of my deaths on Main Liben are not in the places where I expected. Even in my successful attempt, 2 times events did not go according to plan and I miraculously did not die. (For example, on the tape on Venus, the soldier was in a point where I could not shoot, and I had about 20 HP left)

I don’t recommend throwing a grenade into the hangar (out of 10 attempts, I got it 7 times, this is not the result that suited me), you need to clearly get into the timing, throw the grenade correctly, and it’s not a fact that you will have time to climb the stairs, the randomness is generally tough . And ask yourself a question, are you ready to take the risk of going through almost the entire game and screwing it up at the very end, where the final battle is one of the easiest, I found a place where you can calmly stand and shoot all the soldiers (I’ll take a video later or write, I’ll explain where to stand), then climb to the top and finish off 2 super soldiers.
