How to unlock the Wyatt saved achievement in Wolfenstein The New Order - Definitive Guide
At the end of the first level, you will need to make a decision that slightly affects how the rest of the game plays out. One of the options will lead to saving Wyatt, and thus this achievement; the other will net you
I would recommend going for the "Fergus Saved" achievement in your first playthrough.
The differences between the timelines are lock-picking and armour upgrades if you save Wyatt, and hot-wiring and health upgrades if you choose Fergus. There are also a couple of different people to talk to in some of the bits between major levels.
The reason I suggest saving Fergus in your first playthrough is the health upgrades. On many levels you can get a permanent +10 bonus to your health; the equivalent on the Wyatt timeline just increases the amount of armour you get from each armour pickup, but the 100 total can't be increased, and armour is plentiful on most levels. There are 10 health upgrades over the various levels, which can thus give you a base health of 200.
This can carry over into your Wyatt timeline playthrough if you use the Chapters option instead of starting a New Game - selecting New Game will reset your progress on everything, including collectibles and perks, but you can use the Chapters option to jump into the alternative timeline with all perk and collectible progress retained.
EDIT: It would appear that this achievement is glitching for some people. The achievement tracking on Xbox One is reading 1 of 1 requirement completed, but it is remaining locked for unknown reasons. I believe (and hope) that this will rectify itself in time, as the systems is clearly showing that the gamer has done what is required, and there have been numerous cases of X1 achievements unlocking days or weeks after the requirements have been met.
All the same, be aware that this has happened to some gamers, and consider saving Wyatt first, then immediately replaying the first level to save Fergus and then continuing that timeline for the benefits outlined above.
EDIT #2: This has now popped for everyone who I'm aware of it glitching for.

Nice to know about the Fergus bonuses staying with you if you replay chapters and run thru the Wyatt timeline instead of starting a new game. Thanks for that info!

I'm assuming there's no way to change storage devices or something to get this at once?

It is possible to save Wyatt for the achievement and then open the pause menu before the checkpoint saves allowing you to select restart latest checkpoint and then choosing Fergus for the other achievement.
You need to be quick to pause the game, usually as the camera is panning over BJ and the men but before the checkpoint is saved as you will have lost your chance. Make sure the achievement pops in the pause menu and if it doesnt wait a second or two more and keep trying before you get the checkpoint.
I recommend you saving the one you dont want to affect your story outcome first and then quickly restart checkpoint and save the one you do want. This saves you having to replay level 1 all the way through.

Thanks man this is awesome It worked for me.
Got both at the same time.
Just to make it easier After you make the choose There will be a cutscene press twice to skip it and immediately press to pause the game wait a second and the achievement will pop restart checkpoint and do the other one as simple as that just pause the game immediately after the cutscene

If you want to save both men just restart the level after save wyatt, and then pick to save fergus this time, it does not take long to this and am playing it on uber difficulty .
Near the end of the first chapter, you and your squad are captured. Deathshead gives you a choice to sacrifice Wyatt or Fergus. Move cross-hairs over top of Fergus(right) and press square. Trophy pops.
The other solution is exact. Once you are captured, your equipment and shirts are taken and you are held face-down on the floor. Fergus and Wyatt are across from you and Deathshead makes you choose who to kill.
What's not mentioned is that at this point an autosave is triggered. Once you make your choice a small cutscene plays and then another autosave is triggered, meaning you cannot exit the game, reload, and pick the other one to earn both trophies. If you are only doing 1 playthrough, you can save yourself a lot of time replaying the whole chapter by exiting the game when you're first being held on the floor, right after the autosave, but BEFORE making a choice. Back up your save to the cloud or a USB, reload the game and make a choice. Then exit the game, copy over your save backup and then reload the game and save the other character. Now you have both trophies with just a couple extra minutes of work, instead of replaying 95% of chapter 1.

At the end of Chapter 1, Deathshead's Compound, you will eventually meet Deathshead and be forced to save either Wyatt or Fergus. Take note that the soldier you "choose" through the button prompt will be the one who dies. Thus, if you choose Wyatt, you will save Fergus, and vice versa.
You can always unlock the opposite achievement by replaying Chapter 1 at a later time.

At the end of Chapter 1 you will have to choose who will be tortured to death. To unlock this trophy, look to the right and press over Fergus' face.

Description is similar to the previous trophy
If you plan to play through the game only once and get both trophies for choosing, I recommend the following sequence:
Before we are allowed to choose who to leave alive, we leave the game. Then we copy the saves to a flash drive or cloud storage. Then, go into the game again and select the one with whom you would like to continue playing. Let's say Vaita. We watch the cutscene and get the trophy. After which we exit the game and copy our saves back. We go into the game and choose someone we didn’t want to play with anymore, say Fergus.
As a result, we get both trophies in one playthrough.

You don’t need to copy anything, you can just start the level over again, this is almost the very beginning.

even easier! After you have chosen the first one, watch the splash screen and immediately launch the checkpoint and select the other one!

Receive after saving Wyatt in the first chapter. Wyatt's storyline allows you to upgrade your character's armor. For the first playthrough, it is recommended to choose the Fergus line to improve health. This will be very useful when replaying on UBER, and after that you will be able to select the Wyatt line to improve the armor through the selection of chapters.
When there is a choice scene, Wyatt will be on your left and Fergus on your right.
