How to unlock the Graveyard combat master achievement in Wolfenstein: The Old Blood - Definitive Guide

UPDATE: I'm removing the Uber "tip" as it seems most people aren't having any luck with it. I did all of these on I Am Death Incarnate difficulty and you probably should too.

This is a video of the Graveyard Challenge Map in Wolfenstein: The Old Blood.

To obtain Gold, you must be playing on "I Am Death Incarnate" or "Uber" difficulty. The gold medal is rewarded at 28800. For higher scores go for headshots (600 points) and try to keep your combo active as you receive an extra 200 points for each kill in the combo.

To reach Gold, you must enter the side area located to the right of where you begin. I saved this area until after I killed the main group of enemies.

From Ernap:
You can enter the 2nd Area from the Exit instead of the Regular Entrance by jumping like crazy at the Hole. This will give you a major Advantage as no Enemy can get to you and you can easily line up your shots

i would add that using the sniper on the heavy enemies fuel tank is an instant kill and can get explosion kills from it aswell

I managed this first time using this solution +1 Also, ErnaP' comment was very helpful, I think this should be added as it makes it much easier to get a combo!

No. The exit to the side area. You take the bridge and jump up into the hole and you'll be above that area. It's the exit I use in the video at 4:06

does time matter?

If I remember correctly, I don't think your overall time matters. What does matter is the time between each kill because you want to keep your combo going. It's been a while since I played though.

Great solution! I got it on the second try using this and Ernap's additional suggestion about entering the second area through its exit hole by jumping like crazy.

you dont need to jump like crazy at the hole. Just climb on the handrail, (where it drops down) and jump across.

I made it every time.

I was stuck here for a while. Great solution and awesome tip about accessing the second area from the top. Makes the map a breeze.

Just kill the first two guys and then camp behind the tombstone, headshot everything and then do the same in the next area up through the hole. You can just leave when you know you're past the score.

Can Confirm that you can indeed get in through the other side, just keep jumping and make sure you crouch.

You can jump up to the hole from on the railing.

Even better, if you fall off the railing into the pit, the game respawns you with some armor loss usually back on the railing. It's funny that the TA ratios for the challenge achievements get higher as they go along because Graveyard is one of the easier challenge maps to get gold. I got 35,200 points on my third run through.

How the hell are you meant to complete this level with the hit reg so horrible in this trash fire? 1/5 shots alright don't count and I have to mag dump on the heads of elites that kill me in under a second. Horrible achievement dk if this is possible without lots of RNG.

To get into exit hole jump on railing that is sloping down, walk up a bit and jump over to the hole.

Thumbs up for using the bridge "hole". Though I probably would've used that spot anyway since that's where I cleared this area in the campaign.

I did this on death incarnate and achieved 30,900. I found a great place to camp in the 1st and 2nd areas. In area 1 just behind the 2 soldiers I stayed crouched behind the big rock most of the enemies came to me. Once I had cleared out the 1st area I collected all the health packs and ammunition allocated my dual shockhammers and dual machine guns. I then headed back towards were you started and to the left towards a hole. Dropped down and crouched moved forward slowly to my left 3 more health then turn right you will see a shockhammer and ammunition after collecting these I side stepped right and went backwards into a passage., no enemies threw grenades and I just stayed until all enemies had been dealt with. Hope this helps 👌

This worked perfectly. Only point is to clarify in second area after you drop down into the second area and see the Nazis in front of you is to go all the way to the right after the crypt opens up and back into the niche against the wall. No grenades!

I figured it out my second try so not horribly complicated just wasn't completely clear in original solution.

Another Solution for Challenge 10: Graveyard: ÜberGold Challenge
Better you play in Über Difficulty!

Unlock requirement: This challenge can only be unlocked in Chapter 8 - Dig Site. At the start of the level you will be inside a Graveyard. Make sure you kill every enemy in this area, including the enemies down the path towards the right where a gold bar collectible is located. If successful, an on screen notification will appear.

Gold medal requirement: 28,800

In Challenge mode you need to kill enemies and earn points. Your overall score will determine what medal you achieve on the level. You will need to play each challenge on either I AM DEATH INCARNATE! or ÜBER difficulty in order to get a gold medal, as the option for earning a gold medal on any lower difficulty does not exist. Once all enemies have been killed the challenge will end.

You earn points in challenge mode for killing enemies. A standard kill will net you 400 points, and you will earn an additional 200 points for a headshot, and if you kill enemies in quick succession and keeping your combo together. There Isn't much room for error when it comes to achieving the required gold medal score for each challenge. You will need to kill the majority of enemies with head shots whilst keeping your combo going for a length period. There Is not a right or wrong way for playing the challenges, so feel free to use whatever method works for you. I have however provided tips below to help you stay alive whilst killing enemies and earning as many points as you can. One thing to note is that no perks you have unlocked in the main story can be used in the challenges, and everything you do in challenges do not count towards your perks either.

Tips:

  • Always go for headshots. Each headshot will earn you an additional 200 points which is critical for reaching a gold medal.
  • Avoid close quarters combat. Stay far away from enemies if you can as you will be killed very quickly on the harder difficulties if you try and fight up close.
  • Learn the layout of each of the challenge areas and where and when enemies spawn. This will help you prepare yourself and allow you to collect health and armor packs when you know it's safe to do so.
  • Disregard the time it takes you to complete the challenge. Time has no bearing on your overall score.
  • Position yourself where enemies will funnel themselves towards you from one direction. This will prevent an enemy sneaking up behind you without you knowing. It will also help in earning a high combo as the enemies will be standing close to one another.
  • If there are commanders in the level, always keep one alive and don’t kill them both in a silent manner. You need the commanders to be alerted to your presence so reinforcements will arrive. If you complete the challenge in stealth you will not encounter enough enemies in order to achieve a high enough score for a gold medal.
  • Watch out for enemy grenades as it only takes one to kill you if your health is low. You will be at enemies preparing to throw one and you will also see a red indicator on screen for the direction in which the grenade has landed. If camping somewhere to kill enemies, make sure you have an area to run to in order to avoid the explosion of the grenade.
  • For the final three challenges you will need to focus on killing each enemy twice. By this I mean killing them once they turn into a zombie as you will be rewarded with more points. It's not entirely clear what makes some enemies turn into zombies and not others, but just try to avoid using too many bullets to kill each enemy. The hardest part of the final three challenges is meeting the score requirements.

The following video by JoeFenix, shows a walkthrough of each of the 10 challenges and commentary providing some useful tips.

This challenge map will unlock after passing through the graveyard right at the beginning of Chapter 8, Dig Site.

The Single Player challenge maps in Wolfenstein: The Old Blood are a new addition to the series. In order to unlock all ten maps, you must first play through the entirety of the Campaign (check the achievements above for when each map unlocks). Once you've unlocked a map, they can be accessed via the Main Menu. Here, you'll be given a list of all ten challenge maps and you'll notice that the "Bring 'Em On!" difficulty level is turned on by default. Please take note that in order to obtain gold medals on these challenge maps, you will need to toggle the difficulty level to "I AM DEATH INCARNATE!" (or higher if you wish, though it is not necessary).

These challenge maps are essentially areas from the main Campaign where you'll be required to clear out waves of Nazis (or sometimes Zombies). Since all the maps are set pieces from the Campaign, you shouldn't have too much trouble knowing where decent hiding spots or advantage points are located, as well as where certain weapons and gear (health and armor) may be stashed.

When a challenge map begins, immediately go loud and start killing the Nazi opposition. As you are killing the enemies on the map, you will be rewarded points based on your play style. Although some maps may seem stealth-oriented (such as Prison Docks or Caves), a stealth approach to these challenge maps will never net enough points to earn gold medals. Here are a few examples of how to net points during the challenges:

  • Soldier Kill - 400 Points
  • Commander Kill - 900 Points
  • Heavy Soldier Kill - 800 Points
  • Stealth Kill - 200 Points
  • Combo Kills - 200 Points
  • Multi Kills - 200 Points
  • Explosion Kill - 200 Points
  • Headshot Kill - 200 Points
  • Shambler (Zombie) Kill - 300 Points
  • Kampfhund Kill - 300 Points
  • Marksmen Soldier Kill - 600 Points

If you happen to fail a challenge's gold medal requirement or die during the onslaught, you can restart the challenge immediately through the post-challenge stat menu. As a general tip to ensure the most points per challenge map, always aim for headshots and try to keep your combo active by moving your crosshair from enemy to enemy.

Go ahead and check the gold medal requirements below for all ten maps.

  • Research Center - 11,300 Points
  • Prison Docks - 29,800 Points
  • Keep Foyer - 24,500 Points
  • Cable Car Platform - 26,600 Points
  • Caves - 26,900 Points
  • Paderborn Bridge - 22,800 Points
  • Wulfburg Square - 17,600 Points
  • Workshop - 17,200 Points
  • Bathhouse - 17,100 Points
  • Graveyard - 28,800 Points

All in all, these gold medals shouldn't be too hard to get given your familiarity with each area you'll be playing on. Combat play style will vary from player to player, so there is no set strategy for each map. Despite this, falling back on the tips presented in the "Über hero" achievement above, such as utilizing the game's lean feature and knowing when and when not to dual-wield, will prove to be valuable during your trials on each challenge. As a final reminder, each challenge map must be played on the "I AM DEATH INCARNATE!" difficulty level in order to earn gold medals.

NOTE: If you find yourself having a difficult time with some of the challenge maps, do not hesitate in utilizing the video guides in THIS THREAD, as provided by Mr. Magic. Thanks for the help, Magic!

The most difficult place in the test is the second location. You can make your life easier in passing it: after clearing the first location, we go to the second through the supposed exit from it and, calmly, from a safe distance, shoot the Krauts.

Here's a video for clarity:

The surest thing is to get along the left side to the booth with the officer, take him out secretly to the head, return back secretly to remove two soldiers, try to secretly clear out the remains without killing the last officer on the tower. Jump into the tunnel under the bridge (entrance through the crypt next to the officer's booth), take out everyone running up to the head, and remove the officer. Almost 20K in the first half. Next, we collect everything at the first location (mainly cartridges for a sniper rifle and a machine gun), jump behind the bridge into the hole at the top, take the first heavy weapon into the cylinder secretly, then take out the rest from the sniper rifle, leaning out so that the enemy begins to move, shoot into the air from a machine gun, about 32K.

The tactics above are quite complex, I advise you to go through this method:
  • Kill the officer secretly after he is in the middle of the booth, so that the enemy on the bridge does not notice his death.
  • If you kill the enemy secretly from below the booth, he will turn into a zombie, so be careful and quick in your shots.
  • Kill the opponents near you, first a simple one and then an elite soldier.
  • Hiding behind a stone, looking out with help and shoot down all the remaining ones, the red one is killed easily with one shot from a rifle. The most important thing is to look to the left of the enemy, otherwise he can easily be taken by surprise.
  • Then you go to another location, where you need to wait until the red-haired soldier stands in place and you can shoot him in the back with a rocket launcher, so as not to interfere in the future.
  • We immediately run into the crypt, here we dodge grenades - they will throw them often.

Everything is much simpler than in the video above.
Location 1: You can raise the alarm in the place where you appear and shoot everyone without leaving the location, the enemies will come to you. Only you will have to go to the officers after clearing the location (knock one off the sheaf on the tower, and hit the other in the head in the carriage) in the end you will get about 18,000.
Location 2: You can also shoot everyone without going down as in the video. You should get the required number of points if you killed with a headshot + combo. If you don’t have enough points, you can jump down, then 3-4 more Krauts will jump from the far left corner of the location. Take them all down with combos. The glasses should definitely be enough.
