How to unlock the Über hero achievement in Wolfenstein: The Old Blood - Definitive Guide
Play through the game on whatever difficulty (I did Normal), beat the game on that difficulty and then go to Chapter Select and beat the last level on UBER.
Don't switch the difficulty on the last level before beating the game because that won't unlock the achievement. *Make sure you completed the game first and then play the last level on UBER from Chapter Select.
To get Uber Hero (20G) and Super Hero (20G), all you have to do is the last Chapter of the Game on Uber difficulty. This isn't hard, even on uber, if you know how to take the monster down. Please take time to read this and assort your battle plan to make this a doddle. Thus, I provided some key info if you are struggling with the boss fight. It's long, but explains everything, and i've done a summary right at the bottom which is more digestible when referring to this mid-battle :)
(PRE BATTLE TIP - Please please please please keep your silenced pistol ammo full, your Kampfpistole ammo full, and preferably have 4 grenades going into the boss fight.)
1) The map is basically symmetrical, with a lower and upper level. There are two spiral staircases eitherside, with health and armour by each. After you've first "hurt" the monster (i.e, when you've hit his mouth enough times to make him grab his head, and make enemies spawn for the first time,) ALWAYS stay just below the top of one of these sets of stairs. It doesn't matter which, but i found the one to my left AS you spawn easier for myself. If you are positioned correctly, you should be almost directly infront of 2 grenades. The monster CANNOT hit you from here, and if by the off chance you are slightly misplaced, he'll take of 30 health worst case scenario.
2) Aim for the mouth. No where else will even graze him. The best weapons by far to use are the Kampfpistole and the Bombenschuss. As soon as the fight starts, hit him 2-4 times with the kampfpistole from where you spawn, and as soon as you hear reinforcements, leg it to the stairs as per point 1. You can shoot his mouth from this position. When you run out of kampfpisole ammo, go to the bombenschuss and he should fall in 3-5 minutes.
3) This is the main one. The monster ONLY responds to sound. It can't see you. Thus, when the hordes of enemies flank you, these will prove more of a problem than the monster, (trust me.) However, the saving grace of this fight is that monster will to try kill the Nazi's not just you, and is a damn good co-op partner in this regard. If you equip a silenced pistol (hence why you need to restock all your ammo), you can kill dangerous Nazi marksmen close enough to hurt you, and he'll make the rest mincemeat. Shoot the monster sparingly in between, but make your focus the gunmen initially. If you can dispatch of them, or even only make them zombies temporarily, don't panic, you can deal with them when they're close (if he doesn't for you). Now you turn to the monster.
4) If you do run out of pistol ammo, you should be 3/4 of the way there anyway (his mouth will get greener). Turn even more of your attention to the monster. Feel free to come down when its quieter (i.e. the horde are more zombies,) but ALWAYS return to the stairs after short bursts.
5) For the love of god, watch your blindside on the stairs. Enemies do come from here, also.
SUMMARY:
i) Before angering, pickup armor and Health to OPPOSITE side of your chosen stairs.
ii) Reduce Monster to weak state with Kampfpistol ONCE
iii) Run ASAP to stair location specified above. Use SILENCED pistol / grenades to take out re-enforcements (or make zombies,) and continue to use your weapons on the monster. Should you need to health up, go to health pickups CAREFULLY. You shouldn't need more than one, if any.
iv) Keep going until he's down.
Hope this helps everyone!
Like in the previous game, you only have to complete the last chapter of the game on Über to get the achievement for the hardest difficulties.
Make sure the difficulty is set to Über and start up chapter 8. You also can't change it during the chapter or the achievement won't pop.
This Walkthrough shows the whole chapter including the boss fight at the end.
The ÜBER difficulty is the game's hardest difficulty setting to experience; however, due to the unintelligent AI, overpowered weapons, and surplus of ammo throughout each and every Chapter, you will find that ÜBER is nearly the equivalent to playing the game on a default, medium difficulty setting.
In total, there are 8 Chapters you must complete in order to achieve full Campaign completion. Each Chapter can be tackled in one of two play styles: guns blazing or stealthily. You will tend to find that many areas of the Chapters are easier to complete with a completely silent approach. Thus, using silenced handguns, silent takedowns, and even throwing knives on occasion will help you clear rooms quickly and quietly. Conversely, if you wish to kill everyone in your path with loud assault rifles and booming explosions, there's nothing stopping you from causing extreme chaos towards the Nazi opposition.
Whichever way you choose to tackle the Campaign, just make note of a few tips:
- Throwing knives can be picked up after thrown
- Killing Commanders while undetected reveals portions of your map and also prevents reinforcements from being called in if you are spotted
- Since the AI is very unintelligent, you will rarely get caught when sneaking around, even if a guard is two feet ahead of you, staring right into your soul or standing right next to his dead comrade
- While dual-wielding increases damage output, it also severely reduces your accuracy
- Use the "lean" feature to your advantage when taking on enemies from behind cover
Overall, completing the entire Campaign on ÜBER won't be that hard. You’re more than likely going to be changing up your play style from time to time depending on the Chapter, but since you are never restricted to only one play style, completing each Chapter thoroughly will be a treat. Some of the game's boss-type fights might be a burden, but with enough persistence, the final Chapter will be right around the corner. Once you complete Chapter 8, the achievement will unlock!
EXPLOIT NOTE: Much like Wolfenstein: The New Order, there is a beneficial glitch in obtaining this achievement. If you started off the game on a lower difficulty other than ÜBER, simply continue to play the entire game on that lower difficulty (i.e. Can I Play, Daddy?). Once you’ve beaten the game, choose to replay Chapter 8 through the Main Menu and set the difficulty to ÜBER. Now all you need to do is complete this final Chapter of the game on this difficulty and when the credits have concluded, the two higher difficulty-related campaign completion achievements should unlock. Thanks to Piston Honda and Lord Revan for this confirmation!

In order to earn this trophy, you must complete the game on the hardest difficulty setting, which is ÜBER difficulty. Feel free to play on this difficulty on your first playthrough. While there are some challenging sections of the game, it isn't overly difficult. On ÜBER difficulty enemies hit harder and take more damage than on lower difficulty levels.
ÜBER tips:
- Do not rush through the levels, take your time and don’t play Rambo style as enemies will kill you very quickly.
- Utilise cover as much as possible. Hold when near a wall and you will be able to lean out and shoot enemies. This will reduce the chances of enemies being able to hit you.
- Search for health and armor packs everywhere. These can give you between 5 and 80 additional points.
- Play stealth as much as possible. Try and take out the commanders without being noticed, as if they are alerted to your presence they will call for reinforcements which will make things a lot harder then they need to be.
- Contrary to the above, some areas you can rush through by making it to the next doorway, or checkpoint. However, this isn't advisable, but is still an option.
- Try and take out enemies with your handgun if you haven’t yet been noticed as this weapon is silenced. In addition to this, kill enemies with stealth takedowns by pressing behind them.
- If your health and/ or armor is low, remain out of sight of enemies and let it replenish as much as it can. They will regenerate to the next multiple of 10.
- Don't be afraid to retreat from enemies and hide. This will help to replenish your health. If you find a good bit of cover, don't be afraid to stay there any wait for the enemies to come to you. They will funnel towards you and not swarm you in which will allow you to easily pick them off one by one.
- There is no infinite enemy spawn so feel free to camp in a good area with cover and take out the enemies at your own pace. Eventually, they will stop spawning and you will be free to advance the level.
Exploit note:
The ÜBER difficulty related trophy can be unlocked by simply replaying the final level, Chapter 8 - Dig Site, on via level select once you have completed the game on any other difficulty setting. Although the game isn't very hard on ÜBER anyhow, this will save you a lot of time for the platinum as you can breeze the game on a lower difficulty setting.
In order to perform this exploit, complete the following steps:
- Play through the game on any difficulty setting that you desire. Defeat the final boss and watch the final cutscene. Be sure to stick to the one difficulty for the entire playthrough and do not change between different ones.
- Replay Chapter 8 - Dig Site via chapter select and choose ÜBER difficulty.
- Complete the entire level, watch the final cutscene and wait for the trophy to unlock.
If using the above exploit, all you will need to do is play the final chapter on ÜBER difficulty. This chapter is surprisingly short and if you play through it utilizing stealth, then you will avoid a few tough battles. The only area in which you might have some trouble is the final boss fight. In order to inflict damage to him, you must shoot him inside of his mouth. He will only try and attack you if you are shooting at him, or if you are running around the area. Make sure you pick up any armor and health you need before you start shooting him as at this point he won't be attacking you.
At various times during the boss fight, enemy soldiers and zombies will spawn. Make sure you focus your attention to the soldiers first as they can quickly kill you on ÜBER difficulty. Just be weary of the boss as he will attack you while you trying to kill the other enemies.
There is a spot on the staircase in the boss area where the boss will not be able to reach you with his attacks. This makes the boss battle a lot easier as you won't need to worry about avoiding his attacks whilst trying to take out the enemy soldiers and zombies. You can still take damage from the enemies that spawn so just make killing them a priority when they appear. I found throwing grenades from a distance quite useful as the enemies spawn closer to one another.
The following video by CombatCow shows the exact spot on the stairs where you cannot be hit by the boss.
This will also unlock:
Unlocked on 04/12/16. I can't see this ever getting patched.

Then, through the chapter selection, load the final mission and select the " ÜBER " difficulty level for it.
Complete the final mission this way and you will receive two trophies at once.
" Super hero / Real fighter " and " Überhero / Uber fighter "
But if you want to get this trophy in one playthrough.
Do this: Complete the game on low difficulty until the last golden item in Chapter 8 and you will unlock golden pistols.
Once you have unlocked the gold pistols (you need to find all 64 gold bars to unlock them. Watch the video guide in the " Goldmaster/Midas " tip) do not go through the doors and do not fight the final boss.
Just go to the main menu of the game and load the final mission on the " ÜBER " difficulty level.
Now get to the final boss and kill him.
I recommend using golden pistols, they have more damage for the final boss.
And at the end you will receive trophies for all difficulty levels, for a single playthrough.
- Complete the game on medium difficulty, get to know the problem areas in the levels and remember the location of the Nazi officers (very useful on Uber), while fulfilling the conditions for pumping up perks, and receiving prizes along the way. The hero must be fully upgraded by the end of the game!
- After passing on medium, select from the menu: “Chapters”, “Prologue”, the latest difficulty
- With upgraded perks, you will have more life and armor, but you should not create “meat” at all levels, you need to quickly and quietly deal with the officers and finish off the remaining ones, fortunately there are a lot of saves in the game and most often they will be in such places where there is a choice: "Meat" or "Stealth". All other fights are banal, you need to look for a convenient place and shoot by looking out slightly with the help .
- After receiving all the perks, you should have a machine gun in your "backpack" , the cartridges of which need to be monitored and simply not wasted, you can replenish it using:
B) Machine gun machines, but they will be extremely rare: chapter 2 and 7, like (tactics at the machine: you can just grab the machine gun and let go - the ammunition is full 250 or put it, but don’t forget to pick it up), although it should be left for difficult moments, usually these happen at the end of levels... Except for chapters 1, 6, 7.
I’ll tell you about some problem areas that I managed to remember:
- The most difficult chapter will be 4, at the very end you will first have to kill a Super-heavy infantryman with a Gatlingan, and then a HUGE iron dog... The dog is generally hardcore , it was purely by chance that I managed to kill her 6-7 times, before jumping into the inferno from the booth, you should save as much life and armor as possible, preferably 125:125. Further from the booth, which must be opened using a button and a pipe, you need to quickly grab all the armor and climb up, very quickly using the Sniper Rifle we kill the soldiers on the left and right, the most important thing is also to quickly knock out the missile drones (they are killed with one accurate shot rifles), after the massacre of the soldiers, a big guy comes out: we stand in the same place where we jumped, you can knock him down with a grenade launcher, I personally killed him with a rifle in the head, aim from the hip straight at the bars of his muzzle - 2 shots and he will “Burst” with happiness . Next, “Dog” kills the Bili of the battle with 3-4 hits, therefore, grab what is left lying on the battlefield and increase the chance of survival, again, to kill it you need machine gun cartridges, then run back with a light weapon to the right booth and hide behind an iron plate with the number 20, take out a machine gun and wait for the enemy to appear, lead the dog back and forth, that is, left and right, hiding behind the plate, it may not work the first time, since it still bites and the machine gun does not allow move quickly, as a result of which a lot of lives are taken away, although there is a chance that the iron Hund will get stuck behind the plate for a second and this is your chance to smash it with a burst straight to the head
- Well, the last Boss called “Abomination”, this boss is blind and extremely huge, since he does not see you - he hears you well , namely shots, so the tactics are simple: shoot from a rifle (save the cartridges for it) - run to the side, it’s easier to watch the video and you will understand everything The grenade must be thrown at the beginning, as in the video, since its explosion will attract the monster and he will hit the Krauts with his fist!!!
- A red-haired soldier with 2 rifle shots to the head or a single shot to an oxygen tank.
- Flying drones with one rifle shot.
- A huge dog with a machine gun.
- Against a Huge soldier with a Gatling gun, the following will work: a grenade, a rocket launcher, a rifle straight to the face, or a machine gun.
