How to unlock the Annette saved achievement in Wolfenstein: The Old Blood - Definitive Guide

During chapter 6, you will hear Annette talking to Kessler about how she has to think of her friend all of the time. After this you will need to climb a wall with your pipes - it can not be missed as its part of the mission. After climbing you reach a t-junction and have a choice to go Left or Right. You will be able to see both of them in the distance too.

Kessler stays at the right side and Annette will jump to the left.

To get this achievement you will need to take the path to the LEFT and fight your way through the small section. After a short distance you will encounter Annette and you will be able to save her by killing the zombies who are attacking her.

By saving Annette though you won't be able to save Kessler so you will have to play this chapter twice to get both the 'saved' achievements.

I didn't even realize there was a choice.

Its not an obvious choice. It doesn't signpost the options. At the top of the wall you can either go left or right but as soon as you drop down into either area you are locked into a pathway to save either Annette or Kessler.

Saving Annette also unlocks the Bathhouse Challenge Map
Saving Kessler unlocks the Workshop Challenge Map

If you are using Chapter Select from the main menu, the level you want is called RUINS.

At least there's some story payoff at the end for rescuing Annette. As opposed to Kessler throwing his life away after you save him.

^ you can unlock both challenge maps in one go. Not really necessary since you have to do both anyway, but fun fact.

The Challenge maps are actually unlocked by entering those hallways where the blue circle is for crawling from enemy combat to saving the characters. I saved Kessler first (unlocking Workshop in the hallway before him), slid through the windows and if you look for the grayish hallway that DOES NOT have health/armor before proceeding you'll see a broken grate/crawlspace it's this hallway that actually can unlock the bathhouse without ever going into the bathhouse.

During chapter 6 you will be given the choice to save Kessler or Annette. When you get to a wall you have to climb, the way splits into two paths. Go left to save Annette.

The next room is loaded with enemies, but can be skipped if you want to do this quick. Run to the left back side of the next room and follow the stairs up. When you get to Annette, she is attacked by some enemies. Kill them to save Annette and get the Achievement.

Towards the end of Chapter 6, Ruins, you will eventually climb a wall with your pipes and find yourself on bridge where you can see Kessler and Annette having some troubles in the distance.

At this point, BJ will comment on having to get to them. Here, you'll need to decide which of these individuals you want to save. If you choose to head to the right on the bridge and drop into workshop, you'll eventually reach Kessler and unlock his savior achievement. Conversely, if you choose to go left on the bridge and pass through the bathhouse, you'll eventually reach Annette and unlock her savior achievement.

Take note that reloading your latest checkpoint will not work as a means of quickly saving the other individual. In order to unlock the opposite achievement, you will have to replay Chapter 6 at a later time through the Main Menu (preferably on a lower difficulty, too).

Story related, however it can be missed depending on a decision you make in Chapter 6 - Ruins.

Towards the end of Chapter 6 - Ruins, you will need to climb a wall with your pipes. At the top of this wall you can either go left or right. In order to earn this trophy, head towards the left to go through the Bathhouse area. After defeating the enemies in this area, you will ascend some stairs and then make it to Annette where you will save her from some enemies. At this point the trophy will unlock.

Unfortunately you cannot unlock both this trophy and Kessler saved in the one playthrough of Chapter 6 - Ruins. You will need to replay the level to save the character in which you didn’t save on your first playthrough.

Thanks to PowerPyx for the below video walkthrough.

In Chapter 6 "Ruins" you will have a choice of who to save, go left and you will save Annette, if you go right you will save Kessler. Well, a visual video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJy2B-Q4DSQ , so you don’t miss it.

In the middle of " Chapter 6:Ruins " you will be asked to find and rescue Annette LibiKessler.
Then you will have two directions, go left and you will save Annette, or go right and then you will save Kessler.
You won't be allowed to save both of them, but you can start the level again and save the remaining gaming comrade and get another trophy.
And so - We decided to save Annette, you must go left .
Here is my detailed video guide .
