How to unlock the Bathhouse combat master achievement in Wolfenstein: The Old Blood - Definitive Guide

At the beginning of the map, run to the left hand side and stay in the shower area. By staying in this area, the enemies will run towards you, making it easier to keep your combo going, and easier to get the gold medal.

This area also has plenty of cover, and there are three health packs in the area. One that refills 40 health and two that refill 20 health.

To obtain Gold you must earn 17,100 points and be playing on either I Am Death Incarnate! or Über difficulty.

*If you vote negative, please leave a comment or message me why so I can hopefully change the guide to make it more helpful.

Does not work for me. Constant grenades, as much as 3 at a time make staying in one area hell.

took me a few attempts, tip: the guys throwing the grenade will usually stand in the same spot every time to throw it so just learn where that is and prioritize him.

The location worked fine for cover but the enemies were so passive for me, I had to go searching for a lot of them myself...

Great spot to sit out and camp. Try and peek out to combo as much as possible. Make sure to get the guys right at the end in the same combo.

If you get the common situation where 3 enemies are bottled up at the stairs leading to the exit, it's a perfect kampfpistole situation. I think I got close to 1000 bonus points beyond their individual values from explosive kills, multi-kills, and one head shot.

I got this but the achievement didn't pop and my score still shows up gold, but then the leaderboard shows a different, lower score. Fucks sake.

I followed this guide and kept coming up short. Turns out, there were three guys that kept getting stuck by the exit. So if you're short on points and they stop coming at you, try checking the stairs before the end of the level before restarting.

Thanks for the guide!

UPDATE: I'm removing the Uber "tip" as it seems most people aren't having any luck with it. I did all of these on I Am Death Incarnate difficulty and you probably should too.

This is a video of the Bathouse Challenge Map in Wolfenstein: The Old Blood.

To obtain Gold, you must be playing on "I Am Death Incarnate" or "Uber" difficulty. The gold medal is rewarded at 17100. For higher scores go for headshots (600 points) and try to keep your combo active as you receive an extra 200 points for each kill in the combo.

This challenge was fairly difficult for me. You really have to keep your combo going in order to get enough points. Aim for the head and try to combo every kill.

If you are wondering how to unlock this Challenge, you need to save either Kessler or Annette in Chapter 6. One path leads to unlocking the Bathhouse map, and the other unlocks Workshop.

Also at "annette saved" achievement: ^ you can unlock both challenge maps in one go. Not really necessary since you have to do both anyway, but fun fact.

The Challenge maps are actually unlocked by entering those hallways where the blue circle is for crawling from enemy combat to saving the characters. I saved Kessler first (unlocking Workshop in the hallway before him), slid through the windows and if you look for the grayish hallway that DOES NOT have health/armor before proceeding you'll see a broken grate/crawlspace it's this hallway that actually can unlock the bathhouse without ever going into the bathhouse.

I tried the showers and the right side of the map and couldn't get on with it.

To expand on what has been said I found this way which is much much easier. At the start of the challenge you will be in front of a wooden table. Take the gun and ammo (assault) leaning against it, then switch to the grenade pistol at 5 o clock in your weapon wheel. Immediately go left of the table and up the small stairs, turn right and don't go into the showers, carry on down the left hand side of the room (middle bit in the open, with a wall to your left, you should not be running through the rooms on the left hand side.) Towards the soldier at the end (there are two there), run past them both towards the left through the door and fire the grenade squarely into the chest of the juggernaut guy with the lmg, on I am death incarnate this kills him instantly. If it doesn't have the shotgun as your secondary option and switch to it.

(I did this four times for quality assurance and every time he died when hit in the chest). Run to the top of the stairs where he was hiding and crouch behind the white bannister post on the right. Get your assault or sniper out and headshot the enemies as they approach through the bottleneck open door, after two or three they stop coming through, wait a full minute after the last guy if you are unsure. Advance down the stairs, there are health packs to the right next to the locker.

Once you get off the bottom step aim through the door straight ahead you came through, careful not to expose your body to the door on your left. A few stragglers usually come through the door ahead, once they are clear (they tend to run back and forth in front of the door and the sandbags unsure where you are) face left and peer round the frame, headshot all the 5 or so enemies stuck there and then wait, all the enemies in the entire room file into this room ahead into a bottleneck, they don't approach allowing you to pick the whole lot off easily until there are none left, then run around the empty room (not going up the stairs you crouched on) getting whatever ammo and health and armour etc you want. then head back up the stairs to exit the level, shotgun out in case anything is on the upper floors (for me there never was unlike the previous challenge). Exit the level and watch your achievement unlock.

Just trying to help people out, if you vote down please say why, I am aware this is not a full solution but by now everyone playing will know the ropes. I am happy to make this into a full guide if requested.

This was perfect. I've just done it on PS4. I tied the bathroom method but the constant grenades being thrown plus enemies not coming quickly enough didn't give me a chance to get a good combo going but this was perfect. I hit 17300 right after you have to go towards the door in front of you after wasting loads from the balcony and it sounded like there were some more there but I just ran to the exit. Highly recommended method! Many thanks. Just one map to go now.

Big thumbs up from me. The shower method kept coming up 1000 short. This method got it first try. No grenade hassles, too. So much easier.

This guy helps out a lot but I'm coming up 500 point short and I just can't get it...
I've noticed if you run all the way to the very top just before the doorway to exit the enemies get stuck down below or on the second to last flight of stairs up to you and you can pop them in the back

I was the same, showers wouldn’t work for me but this did after a few tries.. hardest part is getting to the stairs because if you aren’t quick from the start, you get shot at before you get going.. but good guide, and a great help, thank you.

Another Solution for Challenge 9: Bathhouse: Gold Challenge
Better you play in Über Difficulty!

Unlock requirement: This challenge is missable, and relates towards a decision that you make in Chapter 6 - Ruins. When you exit the water area late in the level, climb the wall and then turn left. This will take you to the Bathhouse and towards Annette (see Annette saved for more details). Once you finish killing the enemies in the workshop, the challenge will unlock. If successful, an on screen notification will appear.

Gold medal requirement: 17,100

For a video walkthrough, as well tips on how to play the challenge levels, please refer to Graveyard combat master.

This challenge map will unlock after passing through the bathhouse on your way to Annette during Chapter 6, Ruins.

The tactics above are quite complex, I advise you to go through this method:

  • Collect ammo behind the counter in front of you.
  • You hide behind the low wall of the bathtub to the left of the beginning of the level.
  • Peeking out with help shoot straight in the head, the opponents themselves will come towards you, it is IMPOSSIBLE to leave until everyone is completely destroyed!
  • IMPORTANT: kill zombies immediately after transforming from an ordinary soldier, and directly to the head.
  • After all the kills behind the wall of the bathtub, we collect everything that fell from the enemies and put a Rifle and 2 Assault Rifles in our main weapons.
  • We go with the Rifle to the stairs and see the Red-haired fighter - 2 headshots (the main thing is not to go inside, there will be 3 more enemies there: 1 simple and 2 elite)
  • Quickly switch to Assault Rifles and shoot the remaining 3 rounds in the head.
At the end of the level there may not be enough points if few series were made in the head, but I managed to score the required amount the first time

Apparently I’m crooked and slow, I couldn’t get through with any method, there was no combo due to the sluggish behavior of the enemies. In short, using the right wall, collecting everything along the way, he ran to the stairs to the exit from the level, where one of the healthy enemies stood, took him out with a shotgun to the head, took his place on the stairs, leaned out from behind the left support and shot stupid mobs in the head , no combos over 200, I thought it wouldn’t be enough. However, the liabilities accumulated 17900. =)

According to @megatron545's tactics, I still didn't have enough points, plus taking headshots on the joystick was hard labor for me.
You can simplify it further:
-sit down and aim as in the screenshot
-wait for the red one (there he won’t reach you and will stand) and 1-2 soldiers to stand next to him, shoot at the balloon and do a combo!
-in the same position, throw grenades back to (let the sight be as in the screenshot): +200 per grenade +300 per grenade knockback + sometimes 2 soldiers will explode
- in principle, you don’t even have to get up, especially arrogant soldiers will run up and expose their faces
- run the last 3 Krauts as in the video and destroy them with one rocket
using this tactic I made 19 shots and got 1500+ handicap points
