You need to have the finishing blow with an explosive for it to count. If you do not get this before working on the UberHammer mastery it will come with that.

Enemies killed using grenades or environmental explosions (red barrels, fire extinguishers) count towards this achievement. If you are actively using these to kill enemies, this should unlock naturally.
Grenades first become available during the Riverside mission. They are located next to a tutorial terminal in a room behind the first code door (1081). Throughout the game, they are found randomly in ammo stashes in the environments. You can carry up to three, but double that once you unlock the Muscle tree perk ‘Grenadier’ after you reach Level 20.
If you have not unlocked this by the time you have completed the campaign, keep revisiting Riverside via the Metro Map to replenish your stock (guaranteed location).
This is not tracked separately in the ‘Statistics’ menu, but counts towards your overall kills.
