How to unlock the Vive la révolution! achievement in Wolfenstein: Youngblood - Definitive Guide

If you lose all your shared lives and die, you will respawn at the top of the tower outside. You cannot back out of this story quest. If you want to continue the game, you have to successfully kill Lothar.

Go into this fight with three lives, full armor and health, and as much of a full load of ammo as possible.

The first phase of the boss fight has Lothar flying around with a jetpack. The only thing that will damage him is to target the jetpack. You need to shoot when his back is to you. Go up one of the elevators and circle around to try and target Lothar's backpack. His armor is the square type, so the assault rifle and pistol work on damaging him. Save your heavy weapon ammo for the second phase. Keep jumping over to the mounted heavy weapons. The laser weapon will damage his armor. He will drop down to the arena level periodically. Leave the mounted weapon and shoot him with your assault rifle.

When Lothar's health and armor bar is depleted, he will fly high in the air and then crash at the arena level. Before going to his crash site, load up on ammo, armor, grenades, and health. Kill all enemies before investigating the crash site. The enemies will not keep spawning. At the base of one of the four pillars, there is a door that can be opened with the electrokraftwerk weapon. Inside that room is ammo, armor, health, silver coins, and grenades.

Don't do what I did. I had not figured out the boss fight mechanics at first. I did not clear out all the enemies before going to his crash site, and I got wasted by Lothar and the other enemies. I lost all the shared lives and died. When you respawn after dying, you are stuck with the ammo you had when you died, and one shared life. To help you get ammo, when you respawn, run around the area and loot all the ammo. Open up the electrokraftwerk door and stock up. Then jump off the tower twice and die. You may need to rinse and repeat this process a few times to get enough ammo. When you are ready to kill Lothar, respawn, and you will have a full load of light weapon ammo and a some heavy weapon ammo. That's the best you can get.

Go to the crash site and immediately go the center of the arena and move around the center, which will give you cover. During this phase, Lothar has air support and the aircraft strafes the arena with missiles. If you get low on armor or health, go to the pillars and go up to find some health and armor. Also, the room that Lothar comes out of (the crash site) has armor, health, and ammo.

In the second phase of the boss fight, Lothar's armor is the dash type. When he comes out of the crash site, the ideal situation is to unload ten shots from the uberhammer. Aim at the floor right in front of him and the splash damage will nail him. If you get ten uberhammer shots on Lothar, most of his health and armor will be gone. Use a laserhammer, shotgun, or submachine gun to get the rest and kill him.

The faster you kill Lothar, the better. The aircraft missiles will down you very fast. And if you are playing solo with the AI like I did, good luck. Your stupid sister loves to get blasted in laser beams and bullet streams, and not get into cover.

Update on September 6, 2019. Bethesda had an update today that supposedly fixes some of the problems with respawning after dying and having only the ammo you had when you died. So this boss fight should be better if you have died and had no ammo.

From their update notes:
"Players who expend all lives and reset to the latest checkpoint will now find their base weapons refilled to at least 50% of ammo capacity. This will function with all ammo modifier skills and upgrades but does not affect special or heavy weapons."

Just to add to this, I would recommend not attempting the boss below L35 because the mechanics of the boss aren’t all that good and it is very difficult.. if you struggle with it, host an online game and hope someone at a higher level joins you.. up until L100, you gain 2% additional damage each level but the higher level joining your game will be facing your level of boss, making the fight easier.

Make use of your pep signals by buying something decent like the cyborg (max armour) rather than the standard one, plus get the skill that reduces it’s cool down..

If you have access to the skill that allows you to carry hammer weapons, this will really help you.

I’m still playing the game at L185, so if anyone is really struggling after trying to host an online match, I’m happy to help..

Ugh, I see why this game gets a bad rep. This fight is really annoying, between my idiot sister coming near me and repeatedly telling me to shoot the jet pack (dummy, we're both in front of him) and then me getting wasted when I'm on the other side of a pillar while he's using lasers after the crash. I switched to easy to see if that helps with the fight, but then my sister doesn't seem to come revive me when I'm down.

This is story related and cannot be missed. After unlocking God Key (10G), you leave your father in his hideout and set out to find Lothar. After a lengthy cutscene, you emerge at the top of the Siegturm, so use the God Key to break down the door and you will come face to face with a suited-up Lothar.

In this first phase of the battle, you need to rely on the God Key exclusively. The only way to injure him is by catching the bullets he shoots at you and reflecting them back at him. Activate the God Key by pressing dpad-left.png then hold lt.png to gather incoming projectiles in your hand. To reflect them back, release lt.png. The closer you are to the target the more damage you will do.

With his health diminished, he will jump out of a window and use a jetpack to reach the roof of the building. Follow him out of the window then work your way up the building and ride a circular elevator to the top, fighting off many Supersoldaten along the way.

The rest of this fight is going to be tedious and frustrating, especially if playing on higher difficulties. Also, it is recommended that you upgrade all your weapons as much as you can before this final battle on the roof. The better your weapons, the quicker you will kill Lothar.

Now it’s time for the second phase of the battle. When the elevator reaches the roof, Lothar will be flying around shooting what appears to be Dieselkraftwerk grenades at you. Your sister will tell you that the only way to take him down is to target his jetpack. Using your sister as a distraction, try to get Lothar to target her. When he does, shoot at his jetpack when you have the opportunity. You can use the towers to get to an elevated position where there are mounted weapons, but you may not be able to target his jetpack as easy. Note that you should use weapons that are most effective against heavy-armored enemies.

Once you finally destroy the jetpack and he crashes, the final battle begins. Make sure you replenish your ammo, armor and health stock before approaching the crash site. It is also wise to take care of any straggling enemies as they will distract you from your ultimate goal.

Investigate the crash site and he will bash through the door holding two lasers. Immediately back away and use the elevated center of the roof as cover. At this point in the fight, light-armored weapons are most effective against him, so if you have ammo for them, use the Uberhammer and Laserhammer to inflict the most damage along with the Elektro and Dieselkraftwerks. Keep circling around the center so he can’t keep a line of sight and he shouldn’t be too hard to hit. Unfortunately, he will be calling in airstrikes, but keep focusing on Lothar. Eventually, his health will dwindle more and more until he is ultimately defeated.
