There are two types of takedowns; stealthily from behind and in their face from the front.
To perform a stealth takedown, creep up behind an enemy and press
when the prompt appears. They must be totally unaware of you, otherwise it counts as a melee kill. If you’ve purchased the ‘Supersoldat Hunter’ ability in the Muscle tree and are using a knife, you can stealth kill armored Supersoldaten as well which will count towards Sting like a bee (15G).
For a front takedown, run up to an enemy and when you are directly in front of them, press and an animation will play of you grabbing their gun and shooting them with it.
If you have not unlocked this by the time you have completed the campaign, keep replaying the first mission (‘General Winkler’/‘Der Nachtfalter’) by speaking with Abby. The mission takes place in tight quarters (for cover) and most of the enemies have little to no armor on, making it easier to just run from enemy to enemy and do a takedown without taking too much damage. Just make sure that for armored enemies, you destroy their armor first. Run through the mission until before you reach General Winkler then return to the Catacombs by holding
