How to unlock the Hard-Earned achievement in Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap - Definitive Guide

Hard mode is still quite easy once you're over the beginning part. You can always farm money with the techniques detailled in the walkthrough and buy better equipment, to make it easier for yourself. Also you can farm up to three revive potions with that technique.
As a falcon you can access a secret shop under the entrance door to the desert that sells you revive potions, but it's not worth it in my opinion, since I'd rather farm them, however if you're drowning in money, you can use it.
Also note that different equipment has different stats on the various animals. One character's best sword may be bad on another character or vice versa.
