How to unlock the Hero achievement in WRC 9 FIA World Rally Championship - Definitive Guide

In this game, you start on Junior WRC or WRC 3, and move up to WRC 2 and finally WRC 1. You'll first have to reach WRC 1 before attempting this, because the lesser leagues don't have all rallies in them.

I would recommend choosing to start on WRC 3 and skipping Junior, to save some time. Difficulty is about the same.

To move up the leagues, you have to do reasonably well and get a manufacturer challenge mid season, or wait till the end of the season and pick an offer from. I would recommend doing the manufacturer challenge as soon as you get one, to save time.

Don't bother about winning everything on WRC3 and WRC2, just a few wins and mostly podium will suffice to get to higher leagues. But when you get to WRC1, you will have to be top 3 every single rally, and win most of them to be the champion for the other trophy.

Now, there are two reasons I'm writing this guide: difficulty spikes and inability to restart rally events. Trophies are otherwise very straightforward, but this game is so stingy about restarting events, it's ridiculous... Might force you to redo a very very long season because of a random difficulty spike that gets you 8th two rallies in a row. Each rally on WRC 1 have 6 stages, that can take between 40 and 60 minutes. My very last one was Japan, had two 22km and four 7~8km races. Took me well over an hour.

The game is very hard, even on easy. I've seen other people rating it 3/10, maybe they didn't experience the difficulty spikes.... I'd rate it 6/10. Even without spikes, this is only 3/10 if you think Dark Souls/Bloodborne is 3/10. Yeah, of course after your third playthrough and you mastered every aspect of the gameplay, it is easy. I'd say It is, much like Soulsborne, an enjoyable if at times janky difficult experience, if you are into that sort of challenge.

You will notice sometimes on easiest setting with assists no matter how good you drive you'll be 15 to 30 seconds behind every stage. When that happens on WRC1, I'd suggest just reloading a save from before the rally and starting over.

So, the most important tip is to back up your save on a USB or the cloud before starting the Rally! Just for WRC 1, because it can lock you out of two very long trophies. That way you can roll the dice again and get a new set of stages with a random difficulty if you need to.
This is easier on PS4, but can be done on PS5 as well. Just be very carefull not to overwrite it by mistake, either on cloud on USB stick.

Good thing is that the stages in the rally are random, sometimes if you see those extra long "E.S" stages, you can reload if you don't feel like doing multiple 20km races. Once I got a 17km at night, pitch black on heavy rain stage, couldn't see a thing. I didn't save scum there, but I suggest you do it. It would have saved me some time and frustration, because I had to restart that race in particular several times before I got a decent time in it.

Regarding team management, by early WRC 1 season you should be maxed out in XP and swimming in money, you'll only need to do the rally, do the maintenance stage and rest until the next rally, rinse and repeat.

There is some sinergy to be had with other trophies:

Rare events are marked as 5 stars in your calendar, it will be easy to stop when you see it. This you should try on the first season, if possible, as stages get longer and more difficult as you progress.

You have to be carefull, but should come with Hero. Keep an eye on the opponents, you might want to save scum and restart a rally or two if they get too close to you on the standings.

This will come naturally. Switching teams in the same brand counts, so after you end your WRC 1 season as champion, you should get an offer to switch teams and and get the trophy

WRC 9 FIA World Rally ChampionshipShow-offThe Show-off trophy in WRC 9 FIA World Rally Championship worth 49 pointsReach level 50

This will come naturally, possibly very early on WRC 1 season.

WRC 9 FIA World Rally ChampionshipNomadThe Nomad trophy in WRC 9 FIA World Rally Championship worth 51 pointsDrive over 1,000km in any mode

This happened to me mid WRC 1 season, but I did not skip Junior league, and did all the "Quick Play" trophies along the way, but in all likelihood you should get before you get Hero.

All the "Winner in..." trophies will come naturally as well, as it s.
