Update: Unfortunately the servers are now offline and this achievement is no longer unlockable. Upside is you won't have to play the same level for hours until you perfect a top 10 time.

Only the top 100 times go on the ghost leaderboard and to be able to upload your Ghost, you have to be in the top 10 fastest ghosts on any particular stage.

The best way to set a time is to go to Online - Leaderboards - Ghosts.

It'll pop up Rally Sweden, Viggen 1 and in the top right is the Total Players with Ghost Times (should say 100).

Now find a Rally that has Total Players below say 20, hard tracks like Germany and Spain are good bets (at the time of writing Spain - Santa Marina 2 has 4 people on the board).

Make a note of the 10th place time and work hard to make it into the top 10, this'll get harder as the game gets older, so early adopters should get this pretty easy, next year it will be much tougher.

If you beat the 10th place time, use Y button to upload your ghost to the net.

Musquito has mentioned France is buggy, so it's probably best to play another country.

do i have to beat the score with no ghost on? because i downloaded a 10th place ghost and beat it and still wouldn't let me upload and now im 10th on the leaderboard :s

hmm i'm not sure, i'd just work on the time rather than beating the ghost.

Why do one have to beat the 10th fastest time if there supposed to be a top 100 leaderboard? Did some stages today that got less than 100 on the leaderboard but still could not upload my time to the leaderboard.

You need to be in the top 100 to appear on the leaderboard and the top 10 to upload your ghost, this is mentioned in the guide.

france isnt buggy i did it in like half an hour on on firstplan 2 with the normal wrc focus . no tweeked settings. Follow my ghost i got 9th, i don't recommend any other track due to the good speed of this track and the 2 grass shortcuts. You should easily do it following my ghost im sure i messed up a little too.

There’s nothing upside about this. Still, didn’t take as long as it could have done - helps to be skilled.
Also you need to be in the top 10, not 100 as you stated at the top part of your guide (can easily confuse people).
Will no longer be monitoring this page, now that the achievement is now officially discontinued.

From a quick look, it seems possible. Perhaps 30 special stage achievement is the closest thing that could ruin this?

I popped this on the penultimate France stage,the times aren't to hard to beat due to the fact that it may have been buggy on this country at some point.
I was 7th using some nice shortcuts so dl my ghost and you'll see a few cheeky time savers

I don't own this game anymore but Top 10 on a not massively played level, on a not massively played mode on a not massively played game could possibly be do-able.

A lot of the above comments are really bad, with people guessing rather than knowing things.

Now then, this is definitely not easy as I tried this achievement on a bunch of tracks. Eventually got position number 6 on Yakrut 2 (Jordan) at a time of 04:22:43.

Took me about 10 hours in total, so I’d presume you would be looking at the same (give or take a bit). The leaderboards are rammed with people now, as the game is very old.

Yeah i read that but its a bit harsh to have just the top 10 times, be able to upload and get the achievement, top 100 would have been more ok, guess im not fast enough to get it and need to train harder. :)

yeh it sucks, but theres so many tracks (65?). Picking the hardest places is what you want, you'll take an age trying to beat some of the New Zealand times.

i hate acheivements like this ive brought the dlc cars and i still carnt do it always 5~6 seconds off everytime !!!!! conclusion i suck @ this game :( reset the leaderboards please :)

This is still possible in 2020, I used the regular WRC Citroen with a few setting tweaks and got 5th place in Jordan - Yakrut 2 without too much effort.
