Not so much as a guide rather than a heads up but even if the other player(s) you are against in the ranked match disconnect, your match with the AI remains active for a real ranked match tally/win/achievement progress depending on if you win or not.
I managed to play a 1-on-1 match this afternoon against a player that disconnected, so my match turned into an online based ranked match against the AI John Cena. I hit 3 finishers and 2 signature moves while playing as CM Punk. I also taunted a lot and reversed about 60% of the AI's moves. After I won, the achievement unlocked...much to my surprise. I don't condone cheating but if you manage to get someone who quits or disconnects, you have a chance to destroy the AI to hit the point requirements for this achievement to unlock.
