As WWEADDICT4LIFE has mentioned about needing a total of 935,000 VC.
You need to note the following:
1. when promoted to the big brands such as smackdown, raw and superstars and all the PPV's you will earn 2500VC just for starting the match so if you are grinding for VC just quit out (you don't earn any SP)
2. At the end of a rival, choose another rival to avoid losing out on some VC. Because if you start a match you normally have someone wanting to be your rival so the match never starts and you have wasted 2 mins from loading time and not received any VC.

At least 2k17 has a thing that you can buy that gives you 50% more points. (Shown in the nxt edition trailer) Not sure if it is VC or SP but whatever it is it will help a lot.

This is one of four achievements you get by playing through MyCareer mode and accumulating points -- in this case -- Virtual Currency (VC) to spend on making your character better.

You gain 1,250 VC after you complete the tutorial until you get promoted to Raw. Then you earn 2,500 VC per match, no matter how good or bad you do. As an experiment, I started a match. Then, without doing anything, I went to the main menu and quit. Sure, I lost the match, but I still got my 2,500 VC.
NOTE: You can only use them if they're on the same side you're on (you both need to be face or heel, one or the other, not both).
This is how much each manager costs:
FACE: This manager will cheer you on and help your chances of winning.
Eva Marie: 5,000 VC
Brie Bella: 5,000 VC
Layla: 5,000 VC

There is a total of 16 different managers you will need to purchase for a total of 935,000 VC. You will gain VC by playing matches. You will get more out of winning a match, than losing a match.
