How to unlock the Birth of a Tag Champion achievement in WWE 2K17 - Definitive Guide

To win the Tag Team Championship, you need to be rank 3 of the Tag Team division and locked into a feud with the champion. The championship match should take place at the pay per view.

I'm not sure if either the NXT Tag Team Championships or the WWE Tag Team championships or both work for this achievement. I earned it by winning the WWE Tag Team championship.

NOTE: xSpecial Movex was able to get the achievement by winning to NXT Tag Team titles, so it looks like both work.

You will automatically be given a tag team partner.

NOTE: You can begin a feud with the champions by doing a call out promo, going to the champions tab and selecting the current champion for your division. If you do this when you are rank 4 and win your match for the night you will move up to rank 3 and automatically qualify for a title shot.

I can confirm that the NXT Tag Team Title also count for this achievment. But what I don't know is how to get a title shot pretty fast. A was rank 3 of the list and feuded the champions 3 times and never got a title shot. I was doing run ins,call out promos and always won every promo and match. Suddenly with the 4. feud I got a title shot.

damn i have the game a limited time so i switched to the nxt title cause i didnt think youd get a cheevo for the nxt tag.

Why does'nt my achievement pop? I am wwe tag team champion but no achievement...

I presume the glitch from last year isn't present this year? What a shame if not, only one rivalry with The New Day won you the Tag Titles and meant this achievement was quick history in WWE 2K16.

See We Have a New Champion! for more details on getting championships.
For the Tag Championships, you need to form a tag team via a promo first (personally I was given a tag team partner to start with, but this depends on your tutorial performance), then carry on as normal.
