It looks like this doesn’t have to be done in one use of fortify. I would setup 8 man battle royals, turn off over the rope eliminations and give everyone 3 finishers. I would stand there and let people beat me up until I got fortify. I would then use it and try to get the people to use finishers on me. I tried a few times but the finishers wouldn’t be enough. Then on about my fourth try I used Fortify and took one punch from Ricochet and the achievement unlocked.

Do I have to finish the match after use or can I just keep re-trying the match (pause - restart) after use?

I never finished a match. Using your fortify and then restarting the match should work just fine.

So, I just got this and only took like 6 moves (None of which were finishers)

Seems like this is glitchy, like the rest of the achievements for this game, hopefully in a good way though

Assign Payback Fortify to any superstar you would like and let your opponent damage you until the red payback meter is flashing. You will want to wait until right before your opponent is about to hit their finisher so you can deflect as much damage as possible.
