How to unlock the Flame Thrower achievement in WWE 2K24 - Definitive Guide
Select Play from the main menu and it should default to a One-On-One Normal match. Pick the arena of your choosing and continue to character select. I used Jerry The King Lawler vs Eric Bischoff. Make sure that your wrestler has the Fireball Payback in their Payback 1 slot (after hitting A on your character, scroll down to Edit Payback 1 and select Fireball.)
Once in the match, damage your opponent as you like until they stay down for a while. If you fill up the bar for your signature move, do not use it, we need it to pull off the Fireball. Now you'll need to distract the referee so you aren't DQ'd. I did this by going to one of the corners of the ring and hitting LB and RT while standing next to the turnbuckle to remove the turnbuckle pad (there is no prompt for this action.). Maneuver the referee until they recognize the pad is off so they will turn their back to fix it. Now that they're distracted, pick up your opponent and hit RT + Y when you see the prompt for the Fireball. The Fireball seems to have a pretty short range, so make sure you're relatively close to your opponent when you do this. After executing the fireball, win the match via pinfall and the achievement will pop.

Don’t understand what the issue is with this damn game fighting me with this one. I’ve obviously changed some sliders to benefit me like I’ve done with the legend difficulty related trophies.
For some reason every time I have a fireball ready I wait for the ref to go fix the turn buckle. I hit the fire ball on my opponent. Go for the pin and the opponent kicks out every time. Their whole body is red.
Difficulty is on normal. No other rules have been changed. I guess I should wait until the referee is almost done fixing the turnbuckle maybe and then hit the fireball on the opponent.

Just a note on this. I tried several times to do this on easy difficulty and it would not unlock. I had to switch it normal difficulty and it popped on my first try.

I did this with Jerry Lawler go into a 1 v 1 normal (how I got it)
1-Make sure they do not have Resiliency
2-Beat them down till they are red and ready for a pin.
3-Hold R2+L1 to remove the turnbuckle
4-hit them with the payback and go for the pin.
