Both Normal and Hard are available from the start so playing either one will unlock the achievement. Pro mode does not unlock until after you've beaten the game at least once.
For the final boss fight, you'll want to keep doing hit-and-run attacks. You can dodge easily with Light Form. Then, use one of your more powerful spells (Ray of Light being the best) between his attacks. Spam this strategy and the boss is a piece of cake.

So how do you actually beat the boss? Obviously upon completing the game it unlocks the game completion achievement, its not actually a guide its just the description you've rewritten

The boss can be taken down with Ray of Light if you just spam it and continue to dodge his attacks while you're building your rage back up.
