This will come quite quickly through natural play. I received this after completing 3 missions and 1 endless with a gold medal.
Ground units are particular vulnerable to your charge beam and bombs, artillery is also very effective.
If you want to get this as quick as possible turn the difficulty down to easy, be aware though that if you're going for all gold trophies achievement you can't get a gold trophy on easy.
