The Achievement popped the moment I placed the towers and connected the fences. So it does not need to be filled with an actual convoy over 1.2km. Just prepare the path...

There are probably multiple potential paths that could meet the requirements for this trophy, but essentially you want to create as long a path as you can. This can be achieved with fewer resources if you have the upgrade that extends the length of a laser fence, as you will need fewer towers built to create any given length of fence. Wait until rounds 3 or 4, when you’ve got enough resources, and build the longest path you can. See below for the path I used to get the trophy.
