How to unlock the Real-Time Rivalry achievement in Xbox Fitness - Definitive Guide

To get this achievement easier:
- Go through Xbox Fitness thread on this site and look for players posting/commenting on solutions for achievements for Xbox Fitness. Or pick them from here https://www.trueachievements.com/achievementgamer.aspx?achie....
- Add them as friends (use Xbox One Smart Glass App on Android or Apple phone).
- Choose a workout and do it as usual - challenges with a gamer pic will pop up during a session (~ 3 times per 10 minutes workout).

I added around 20 players, so doing the same you will have more chances to challenge someone doing your workouts.

It seems the game picks one friend to challenge per workout randomly from the list who did that workout.

If you found it is hard to beat that particular guy - just remove him from a friends list.
(Sometime I have problem to beat my own drills laugh)

Currently I have a session up just for us to add more active people for this cheev. Up until 31st Aug 2015, will probably make another after that if it goes well.

Can you still beat the same friend over and over like the 10 drill achievement?

Eventually you stop getting challenges from a friend because you have beaten all of their scores. When that happens, you will need to remove them from your list if you want to get new friend challenges on the same workout.

I've found some tricks to make this go a bit faster. Real-Time Rivalry and Run the Day tricks

I haven't experienced what https://www.trueachievements.com/TheFourthHunter.htm has. I continue to get friend challenges from my second account. Whoever you see mentioned at the beginning of the workout is who you'll get the challenges from. The game seems to pick whoever has the highest overall score on the workout as your rival.

I'm stuck at 90%. I have beaten 5 challenges and gained no progress.

Combining TheFourthHunter and MathGuy42's comments and my own observations post Dec 15: if the friend challenge is a star challenge (ie beat their 5 star rating for that drill) and you tie the rating (ie also get 5 stars), you will get credit for beating the challenge and the challenge will not disappear. So, you will be able to do the drill again and the same friend challenge will eventually return.

Hey Last-Minute Achievers!
To help you speeding up this achievement I provided a Turbo-Controller script to simply skip to the next or previous drill challenge.
Next Drill: cn_RB, Previous Drill (if clicked in the first seconds of the drill) or restart current drill: cn_LB

Here's the script, just copy and paste it into GTuners GPC Compiler and drag it onto your Turbo Controller:

Good luck! :)

Warning: this achievement is very finicky. Not the achievement itself, but actually getting friends' challenges to appear as drill challenges. How it's supposed to work is that during the course of a workout, drill challenges against friends will pop up on the bottom of the screen, and completing these can vary by earning more Fitness Points, or more stars during each drill. Unfortunately they, first off, appear completely randomly, so there doesn't seem to be a guaranteed way to compete against friends instead of, say, the community or your own scores. Secondly, it doesn't appear that you can replay the same routine and continue beating your friends' same scores over and over. Once you've beaten a specific friend's score for a specific drill, you'll no longer be able to again unless that friend replays that specific drill and beats your score. This is why it is important to either have someone on your friends list who is currently playing the game, or have multiple friends who have already played, because if your friends aren't playing anymore, then you have a finite number of friends' challenges to beat toward this achievement. Thirdly, for a given workout routine, the game seems to pick one friend on your friends list who's gotten a score on this routine and you'll only get friend challenges against that one specific friend, none others on your friends list. It seems that the optimal way to get this is to add one friend playing, play a routine and beat all of their scores until no friend challenges show up from that friend anymore, remove that friend, add a different friend, and then repeat.

You'll have to beat a cumulative total of 200 friend challenges to earn this achievement. Thankfully you only have to follow someone for their challenges to show up (you don't have to be their friend, and they don't have to be currently playing as long as they've played and gotten a score at some point in the past). If you are looking for more people check out the Official XBA Boosting Session Information & Discussion thread. Again, even if people in that thread posted a while ago to add them, you can still follow them to get their challenges to pop up, so don't worry if it doesn't seem like anyone is posting in the forums anymore.
