How to unlock the Now Am I Become Death achievement in XCOM 2 - Definitive Guide

Rangers can get the Reaper ability at the rank of Colonel. This lets you chain melee (sword) kills. The first strike is a guaranteed hit at normal damage. The second strike is based on normal percentages and deals lower damage. The third strike is yet lower damage.

Pick out your three victims. Have one of your other soldiers soften up the second one, if necessary. Switch to your Ranger, choose Reaper, get your two melee kills, and then switch to the shard gun for the third kill. This breaks your Reaper chain, of course, but it unlocks the achievement.

I'm sure there are other ways to unlock this achievement. The Faceoff ability of the Sharpshooter Captain comes to mind, but it seems like you'd need three heavily-damaged-but-not-dead targets who all happen to be out of cover at the same time for that to work, and that's pretty hard to set up. Doing it with Reaper should be a piece of cake.

EDIT with minor spoilers: at some point in the game, you will encounter an enemy called a gatekeeper. It has the power to revive multiple dead aliens and civilians as psi zombies. This gives you two ways of unlocking this achievement. The first is with the aforementioned Reaper skill. The psi zombies are weak, unarmored, and not in cover. They are no match for the Reaper. Just activate Reaper, then slash, slash, shoot. You might have good luck with the Faceoff ability here also. The other way is to kill the gatekeeper; all of its psi zombies will die when it dies.

EDIT: archer139 says, "The way I did it.. was throw an acid grenade.. and let the 3 Advent troopers melt.. all three died pretty fast." Acid grenades can be built in the Proving Ground as and Experimental Grenade project. You may get gas or incendiary grenades instead, however. You can research Experimental Grendae again if you want to keep trying for acid.

You can pick this up in the Alien Hunters DLC mission, but this is a story spoiler for that DLC so...

I got this in the beginning of the game, in the Lost and Abandoned operation where you encounter ”Lost” zombies that, when killed with a headshot, grants extra action to the xcom operative. As the place is swarming with these things, it’s easy to do, provided the shots connect (I had 70% chances on the first group with my specialist, all shots hit them and killed them in one... although I was playing on Rookie-difficulty redface).

As this hasn’t been mentioned in the solutions, I imagine this requires War of the Chosen expansion and the ”Integrate the other dlc”-options ticked on.

I must say the other solutions are very good. I just wanted to add to them with a video of how I unlocked this achievement, using the "Sharpshooter". I hope you enjoy the video, till next time stay frosty!!

This is definitely not the best option, but if you have one of your Psi troopers use Void Rift (as long as they have Rupture trained) on three enemies it's possible to kill all three in one shot. In the same vein, you can also do this in the final mission with the Commander Avatar - his Dimension Rift ability has a large area of effect and can easily do enough damage to kill a group of Mutons, Vipers, Sectoids or Faceless if they remain grouped up.

As an alternative for those with the "Shen's Last Gift" DLC, the Overdrive ability of SPARK units gives them an extra action and any shots taken won't end the turn.

If you have the Alien Hunters DLC this achievement is easy. The first group of enemies you encounter has three aliens with very low health. Use your Void Rift there, easy.

I got via a Sniper with the Serial skill at Colonel. Target a bunch of low HP enemies with good chance to hit, and fire away. Especially useful if you bomb a couple of Codex and they split, leaving several 1-2 HP entities to mop up.

Best done with sharpshooter, if you have serial you could wipe out the entire screen.
Lighting reflexes help out doing a free pistol shot.
With grenadier a volatile shot could wipe out a group with 3 aliens.
Bladestorm could be Ranger secret weapon against Chrysallids and Lancers.
Psi Operatives also have AOE effects.
Only Specialists dind't found a way yet.

With Sharpshooter this can also be done with Face Off. With Ranger I think it's easier to do with Reaper than relying on Bladestorm.

Mission: Abandoned Research Facility from Alien Hunters DLC
You will be accompanied by Ranger with Reaper ability.
Once you would enter the open area after first room you will be ambushed by many Vipers with 2 health. Use the reaper ability and you can easily score 5-6 sword kills in one turn

Easiest way is to get the Sharpshooter ability to fire your pistol at every enemy in line of sight and wade into a group of troopers/cannon fodder.

The easiest way to get this trophy is to get a Psi Op unit with Void Rift + Rupture and use it on a group of enemies that are huddled together. You may want to weaken them with other units first.

Very easy to do in the Shen Factory quest. Playing as Shen, use a skill that deals damage to robots in an area, on turrets, and the trophy is yours.

You can use the "Spatial Rift" skill while playing as the CHEF Avatar in the last mission. The skill will appear on the 3rd or 4th turn. Around this time, you should run into a squad of 4 “Mutons”.
I managed to take just three with one shot and the trophy clinked.

Easily done as a sniper (Colonel), in series.

If you play with the “War of the Chosen” add-on, it is automatically done on the very first mission with “zombies”, since almost all of them will be “one-shotted”, and the number of “multifrags” per turn is limited, in fact, by the number of enemies in the visibility zone.

A ranger can cut out a pack of enemies without any problems. Especially if he is wearing berserker armor and with axes from the hunter's set (all this is from the add-on). In this case, do not forget that successful cuts require the reaper skill, and an ax throw and melee from a suit do not require action points and do not end the turn.

Sniper with the "series" skill. The main thing here is to have a large clip, a good % of hits and the best weapon. The “deadly zone” skill is also interesting; it will shoot in this zone at everything that moves as long as there are cartridges. The only thing is I’m not sure about such kills for a trophy. But it's a useful skill.
