How to unlock the Overpowered achievement in XCOM 2 - Definitive Guide
Once you have 4 genadiers, do a mission. Since it's so early in the game, it's weak enemies, and only 8-10 per map. You're coming in with 8 grenades, so it's not that hard, especially if you save scum.
On the second to last level, you are only allowed to bring THREE soldiers to a battle. I picked 3 Grenadiers, and had finished building out 3 EXO suits by the time I got to this mission, giving each soldier a nice long range rocket attack. I used Save/Reload to try and get better rolls (and trying different approaches), but mainlyvjust took it slow. There is no timer on this level! I dropped grenades and rockets when the creatures were well grouped.
In the end, I had to fight 4 groups of enemies, for a total of 9 creatures.
Hope this helps!
I tried:
- An alien facility mission with 2 reapers, no combat and both evacuated
- A skirmisher VIP mission (sitrep: the horde) with 6 specialists + a scientist VIP + a sharpshooter "escort" I had to revive and evac. 8 evacuations in total
- Another facility mission with 6 grenadiers, no combat and all evacuated
- This isn't attainable in War of the Chosen at all
- This is only attainable in main story missions (i.e. blacksite)
- This isn't attainable with the 2 squad size upgrades or intentionally using fewer than 4 squad members (doubtful, as others have said they got it with 3)
- This isn't attainable if you start the game on a different difficulty and change it to commander pre-mission for this achievement (doubtful, as others have said you can change the difficulty)
This is easiest to accomplish in the first month of the game, as the enemies are still relatively weak. You can use any class for it (except Rookie) but the best options would be a full team of Grenadiers or Rangers. Either one can absolutely tear through the early game enemies. The difficult part is getting four soldiers (or more, if you have the Squad Size upgrades) of the same class that early in the game. You should build the Guerrilla Tactics School as soon as possible, as that will let you promote a Rookie to the class of your choice. It takes five days to complete the promotion on Commander difficulty.
I suggest attempting this trophy with a full team of Grenadiers, as you may find it more useful to have lots of Grenadiers throughout the game. Rangers are great as well but it's not really necessary to have more than a couple.
Update: You don't need a full squad. Completed the level with two rangers and got a trophy.
