How to unlock the And So It Begins... achievement in XCOM: Enemy Unknown - Definitive Guide

The tutorial mission is the first tactical mission that comes up when you start the game. You aren't allowed to make any choices, so simply listen to the talking guy in the listtle box, and look for the yellow arrows that point to where to move next.

You will earn this after the first mission you complete, you simply have to do what you are told and as far as I am aware there is no possible way to fail this mission.

Below you will find a overview of the first two tutorial missions and a quick explanation of the base screens.

You can go about this in two ways. You can either leave this for your fourth playthrough (clean-up run,) or you can start a new game with the tutorial switched on, complete it and then quit the game and continue with your normal playthrough. This is because one of soldiers will always die in the tutorial, so it can interfere with your progress towards other trophies.

The tutorial mission is a scripted mission that guides you through the first map of the game. It will give you some back story regarding XCOM unlike any other mission.

The trophy is easy and almost story-driven. I recommend doing it right away and forgetting about it. In the main menu of the game, select single player (single game), we will be asked to select the difficulty level. Click and a submenu opens, there are 2 items: enable training and/or Ironman (terminator) mode. We need the tutorial to have a cross and launch the game. In training we will be introduced to tactical combat. We go through this mission (it will take a maximum of 15 minutes if you watch all the videos and read everything). After you complete the mission (you will be shown a cut-scene of your shuttle flying), this is where you will receive the trophy. Immediately after receiving the trophy, I recommend pressing Start and exiting the game. Start a new game, select difficulty, click and turn off training.

“Why do this?” - you ask, I answer: after training, only one fighter will survive, and he will receive the Heavy class (he will spoil a lot of blood if you want to get Ain't No Cavalry Comin' for this walkthrough / There will be no reinforcements . So However, you will be able to choose a location for your base only from 2 regions instead of the required 5.

When selecting difficulties, if you click on , then 2 items will appear: Training and Terminator. Put a cross on training and start playing
