How to unlock the Angel of Death achievement in XCOM: Enemy Unknown - Definitive Guide

Angel of Death

"Kill an alien while flying. Single player only."

This achievement requires you to have the Archangel Armor equipped on one of your squad (recommend using the Sniper). During a battle, use the armor to fly your squadmate into the air (right-trigger, then d-pad over to select the angel wings, then up on d-pad to rise), then snipe any alien with that squadmate.

Achievement will unlock as soon as you make your first kill, while flying.

If you have the gift unlocked you can use Mindflay for a 100% 5 point hit on sectoids and mutons.

I don't believe it actually matters HOW you kill them -- so long as you're flying; Sniper just seemed the best choice for that, but use whomever you wish. :)

I think, i make something wrong or do not understand Your solution.
First, using the Wings AND Snipe an Enemy in one Move is not possible. So if i have to Snipe maybe i need some kind of Upgrade or something?
I tried it in 2 Rounds with Snipe and i tried it in one Round, killing with a Pistol. Both did not work.
Could someone Help pls.
Thx

Sorry for confusion, you need not fly up AND shoot in one round... fly your soldier up in one round, have that soldier make the killing shot on any subsequent round (while that soldier is still in the air), and the achievement should unlock.

Additionally, the soldier you choose doesn't have to be a sniper, I just chose a sniper, as the likelihood of getting the killing shot is fairly high with a sniper. Hope that clears things up! :)

You don't actually even need to move - simply switching flight mode on so they jump into the air is enough.

You will need to research both Titan Armor and New Fighter Craft Tech to research the Archangel Armor tech. Equip one of your soldiers with this armor, then use it to float in the air while killing an alien and the trophy will pop.

While in my opinion the Archangel armor is useless and will get you killed, it is needed for this one trophy. You will need to research both Titan Armor and New Fighter Craft Tech to reach the Archangel Armor tech. Equip one of your soldiers with this armor, then use it to float in the air while killing an alien and the trophy will pop.

You don’t need to kill the flying alien, as it might seem from the description, but kill the alien from the air. Towards the end, the flying armor of the Archangel will be revealed. On it you need to turn on the flight mode, take to the air, and shoot someone.

Here is a video (from boxing, however, but in general there is no difference)

A flying tank should also be suitable for the trophy (its production is much more useful than this armor in my opinion), but there was no way to check the possibility

I didn’t use the archangel’s armor, but I actively used the flying turret - they don’t give a trophy for it.

Give a sniper in the open space armor with a jetpack and decide the fate of his enemies, and at the same time you will win a trophy.

Get it by killing someone wearing archangel armor and while in the air (this is an active armor skill)
