How to unlock the Walking On Sunshine achievement in Yakuza 0 - Definitive Guide

In this guide I'll be glossing over a few bits and going a little more in depth for others.

A way into Majimas' storyline you'll unlock the Sunshine Cabaret Club. This is the business sim part of Majimas' story. When you manage the club you'll have a 3 minute mini game where you need to perform various tasks and earn as much money as you can. You'll need to select a lineup of 8 hostesses varying from Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum level characters. You can unlock new hostesses around the map, purchase them from the Shrine using CP and through completing stages of the Club Storyline. I won't go into detail about the mini game itself as it's pretty simple and self explanatory, but one useful thing to know is the hand signals when hostesses ask for help. When asked for help by a hostess they will give one of four hand signals. Selecting the correct response to each will recover their stamina (HP) and earn you a bonus order:

Hand in an L shape - Guess Glass
'Small' gesture with thumb and finger - Ladies Glass
Circle with both hands - Ashtray
'Opening' gesture with both hands - Menu
Fingers pointing down - Refill Ice

After completing each 3 minute mini game you will earn money and fans from the area you're doing business in. When you earn enough fans in a certain area you'll be challenged to a Climax Battle. This is a simple head to head where you and the challenging club compete to see who can earn more money in one 3 minute round. Don't worry if you lose because you can always try again. If you win you'll earn a Platinum Hostess from the club you beat and you will essentially eliminate them as a competitor, exactly the same as Kiryus' Real Estate business. So for this achievement you need to beat all the areas. It's a simple rinse and repeat process for each competing club.

It's a simple enough principle until you get to the last club, Club Moon. Unlocking the Climax Battle is exactly the same but the battle itself can be pretty tricky compared to the others. You'll want to make sure you are doing all your special one to one training with the different Platinum Hostesses. They max out at level 40. To beat Club Moon you'll definitely need all your Platinum Hostesses at somewhere between level 30 and 40. Gold Hostesses max out at level 30, so there'll be a bit of grinding involved. I beat Club Moon with 3 maxed out Platinum Hostesses and 2 at 30+, with 3 maxed out Gold Hostesses. Now for the battle itself......

RNG can be a bit of a factor here so be prepared to try more than once. I've seen some people say they 'easily' beat it in one try and some say they 'barely' beat it in one try. It took me a few attempts to beat.

I'm not sure how many fans in the area helps with this, but I partnered with every business except one, which was based around maxing out friendship with someone. So I think I had about 15,000+ fans in the area. It's something to consider.

Club Moon has an extremely annoying Fever ability which causes customers to instantly leave your club and it will also drain your Hostesses HP. There were times where it felt like this was being triggered every 10 - 20 seconds. So this is where the RNG comes into play.

Sometimes certain guests will ask for a particular Hostess. Making sure you assign the right Hostess to that person can help counter the Moon Fever ability.

Making sure you get the hand signals correct helps because you can earn money and recover HP so make sure you're always getting them right

Make sure you use Sunshine Fever as soon as you get it. If a guest is in party mode they won't leave your club when Club Moons' ability is used which is a massive help

Make sure to always praise girls when a customer leaves in order to increase their HP and save on money because it may come down to the wire in the end, so saving money is the best way to go.

Once you beat the Club Moon battle you'll have a little bit more to do. To avoid spoilers it boils down to a bit of dialogue and a couple of combat encounters. After the second combat encounter the achievement should pop

Please feel free to add anything by comment. I made this guide because I saw this achievement has no guides on this website and the Club Moon Battle can be pretty tricky so I wanted to add a few things purely for that part of the achievement

Thanks and good luck :)

Came back for this after hitting it in Kiwami 2, it's a bit harder here due to timers being a bit shorter but I've picked up a few things:

-Makeovers allow you to max 3 of 4 categories for a platinum hostess. Do them.
-When assigning a hostess to a table, or interpreting a hand signal, time stops. Plan your next move.
-Moon is mostly mega-rich, and will anger easily. I used to try to match categories but it's far easier to page to each hostess when you seat someone and pay attention to the face icon of the guest. If it was all sad or angry (like they request a specific girl who is unavailable), I would B to back out and let them leave. Not worth the trouble, save the seat for profits.
-Save platinums for mega-rich tables, especially if a non-plat will max the happiness for a customer. This makes filling special requests a bit easier.

Even with nobody at max I was pulling 80M yen a session (though I haven't tried the final yet, and am grinding to max just in case.)

This is straightforward if you just keep playing the Cabaret Club and advancing the plot, but I can give some pointers.

The final battle with Club Moon can't be triggered if the Grand is your current quest destination.

Leveling up your hostesses is the most important thing. Having them all well-rested with purple smileys is also imperative, and use your special R1 ability as often as you can. Better not to save it for level 3, it gives no additional benefit. 2 tables get a party per level.

If a hostess is in trouble, here is what each sign means:
L shape = guest's drink
C shape = lady's drink
Two handed O shape = ashtray
Twisting fists together = towel
Fingers pointing down = ice

During club battles, never give guests gifts or girls rewards, they count against your profit. Always ask guests to extend, as it gives you a massive boon when it works, and you don't need more fans from being gracious especially once you're doing the battle already.

Don't be afraid to swap out a girl mid session if another better hostess becomes available or if some other guest requests a girl by name, the guest won't be offended from the swap, the only downside is wasting a couple seconds of revenue.

If you have your special ability ready, you can sometimes get a guest who matches poorly with a girl to maximum happiness if the party occurs at their table. Take advantage of this if you get really bad luck with every guest requesting the same girl or something silly like that.
