How to unlock the Mr. Shakedown Takedown achievement in Yakuza 0 - Definitive Guide

Mr Shakdown appears at various points, he is huge and on the mini map has his own unique icon.

I would recommend avoiding this fight in the first couple of chapters, as losing will mean losing your money instead wait until Chapter 4 as you will unlock Slugger Style with

This slugger style not only inflicts huge damage but blocking with the baseball is able to withstand much more damage.

To Prepare:
Go to the Abilities Tree under the Slugger Branch and increase your health, Power, Wear Equipment which boosts defence and the Security Wallett (this is great as is drastically reduces the cash he steals from you in case you lose) Ensure you visit a convenience store and carry as much of the highest qualiy Toughness health drink and also carry drinks which give you a Heat Boost.

The Fight
The key to the fight is blocking/ his attacks, your bat should withstand most attacks and then pummeling him with three hits, try and use the combo of X,X,X, Y. Also try to evade and get around his
back wh. Don't go blow for blow as he will win. Either block or evade his attack, do your combo and you will whittle aich is a great wy to drop himaway his health. Once your Heat meter is charged get close with your block up then unleash the Special move also remember to drink Tauriner ++ to boost your Heat. Remember that once your health gets low you can use the inventory to drink a health potion.

Provided you have filled your inventory with Health/Heat drink and unlocked a few abilites this should pose much of a problem. If you can defeat him you should be getting around 10mill so its well worth it.

Eh, I just went back to the game after a long break when a missable achievement glitched. I'm currently in chapter 2 and beat him up with my 2x4.

Can't you just do it when you meet him for the first time and has very little health (compared to the previous boss)

The first time you meet him is a scripted story event, so no that won’t work.

And yes he does come back for more...with lots of extra health each time. Equipping a high damage weapon will also help a lot with him.

I did this with Majima first encounter, if you really have trouble try getting the zap gun or slime gun, search for it on Dragon and Tiger and have two or three at hand, easy pay here is a video, don't forget to save right before fighting him in case you lose https://youtu.be/HVXs55cD4V8

Can confirm the scripted encounter is a no-go: the fight will end before he even activates his Beast Mode if you’re able to whittle him down enough.

I was able to find him sleeping on a bench near the closest save point right after the first scripted encounter. You can pickpocket him until he wakes up for a second encounter. The great thing was that he still had half a life bar. The achievement popped after I kicked his ass.

I am not sure if it's random or that he always spawns there after the scripted fight but it is worth having a look if you want the achievement early (and quite easy in comparison).

Not too bad of a challenge as long as you're patient and whittle his health down

A couple of little things to note:

I wouldn't recommend doing this until you've upgraded your max health a few times
Make sure you have plenty of healing items
One of the harder parts of this achievement is simply finding him. I personally have no idea of his spawn points so you'll just have to get a bit lucky
There is an upgrade you can buy at the Shrine that will increase his chances of spawning in the park. It's not an ideal place to fight him but it can be done there. It's actually the place where I got this achievement
I also recommend finding the nearest save spot when you get in sight of him just in case you lose the fight so you can reload your save without fear of losing all your money. Another thing worth mentioning is that you cant keep reloading a save if you do find him as he will be somewhere else when you reload the save. So you cant trial and error him by continuously reloading your save and retrying

As for combat I simply ran circles around him and keeping track with the free cam. He has an attack where he'll charge you and another where he will throw punches. They're pretty easy to bait out whilst keeping a good distance away. Go in for a couple of hits and back away and continue circling him. I simply repeated that process with Kiryu using Thug Style. Its not an ideal method and can be quite time consuming but its how I unlocked the achievement. One last thing is that I don't think you can use Heat Actions on him because I don't think he can be grabbed. So don't go in for a grab and leave yourself in a position to get attacked.

Good luck

This is such a “moose”, two meters tall. Appears for the first time in the second chapter. Then in random places. The amount he has will be displayed above him. There are four types of mr.Shakedown (two in Kamurocho / two in Sotenbori). One of the best ways to farm cabbage endlessly. If he wins, he will take all your cash clean. If you see him, save. There are a couple of bonuses in the Shrine, near Bob the Clown. There, for CP points (Completion Points), you can purchase a couple of perks. 1) He will often sleep on a bench in the park, in the Kamurocho location in the upper right corner of the map near the taxi. 2) Take 50% more cash after winning. The trophy drops after the first victory.

20 Staminan Royale slots, from weapons - any that have a short-range and fast ultimate (a knife, a crowbar is the best option, a little worse - nunchucks, tonfa... but it’s better not to take a bat). Buy and install Sacrifice Stone dolls, in case you don’t have time to heal, they return you to life with full health (I usually took 4 pieces, but it all depends on your skills).

The tactics are simple: approach directly head-on, as if you want to shake hands with him, take out a knife, use a “special attack”, he falls, kick him 1-2 times, wait until he gets up, again “special attack” and so on ad infinitum. If you don’t have enough ult bar, eat stamina royale, if you are knocked down and carried out, put a new Sacrifice Stone. Gets up - ult, gets up - ult... That's all. Eat the medicine, don’t be greedy and everything will be fine.

To save your cash, it is better to buy or receive a secret wallet for the quest. One of these is for sale at the Ebisu Pawn thrift store.
I also advise you to save up CP for a golden pistol. A killer thing with endless ammo. Farming with this gadget becomes much easier.

Encounter Finder - what is it and how to get it:

1) In Kamurocho, in chapter 2 of substory 23. The task is about the Japanese analogue of Michael Jackson. At the end of the first part, you will be offered a choice of 2 boxes, black and white. In black shoes, the street punks will pay less attention to you in them, in white, some kind of hat T-shirt. The second part of the task will open already in Chapter 5, near the Maharaja's club. At the end there will be two boxes again, in the black one I received the Encounter Finder device. A very useful thing. Shows all skirmish locations within the viewing radius on the mini map. The main thing: these healthy dudes with money are displayed on the map itself. The last time I knocked two and a half billion out of him. The fights with him are tough, worse than many bosses. Has four health bars. The more money he has, the stronger he is. Often takes out with one blow when you are on the ground, tramples with your foot. I went to it preparing separately. Melee weapons are less effective, since after a series of blows, you can run into a fierce counterattack. I stocked up generously. All 20 slots were filled by Staminan Royale, of the weapon slots there are six for firearms, preferably rifles or shotguns. And it’s important to buy and install Sacrifice Stone dolls, in case you don’t have time to heal, they return you to life with full health.

2) In Sotenbori, in chapter 3 substory 58 (about a guy in a jacket who needs to be escorted across the bridge while protecting). Gives at the end.
