How to unlock the Break Ace achievement in Yakuza 3 Remastered - Definitive Guide

For this achievement, you must break ace which means you must sink the 9 ball when you are breaking so this is better playing alone rather than trying to play against the AI who can break first. To play pool it can be found at Aqua Sky in Ryukyu. Once there, go and talk to the attendant and ask to play 9 ball alone. On your break shot put the cue ball on the far right side and aim in between the front 2 balls on the right side put the red dot up and then give it full power if you don’t get it immediately just back out of the minigame. This most likely will take quite a few attempts to do this so don’t worry if you don’t get it immediately. Sometimes when you’re doing this method the 9 ball will either not move at all or will barely move at all so be wary of that to happen a lot. Here are 2 videos of someone else doing it and myself doing it (sorry in advance if my video goes by too fast I was basically trying to do it for 12-15 minutes before I actually got it) if you prefer to see someone doing this.

Not saying this isn't a good solution, but it didn't work for me. I tried over 100 times, but in only about 15 of them did the 9 ball even move. I ended up getting this with a normal straight-on break, lol. It may not be as good, but it keeps your hopes up, because the 9ball is always going somewhere.

I’m having the same issue as the guy above me. The 9 ball doesn’t move at all most of the time when I use this method.

After over 15 minutes of trying the "fully to the side" shot, I tried this one 5 times and it worked, with a lot of luck as you can see (skip to 0:20)
playing
Basically, half distance between the middle of the table and the wall, hit the first ball dead on, red dot at the top of the cue ball. Just another method for you to try, if you want some "variety" while working on this frustrating achivement.

Agree with the other comments. This ain't it. Most of the time the 9 ball won't even move. You're better off just going for a straight shot and getting lucky. It'll be way faster.

First comment on here. Just keep shooting head on at full force. There isn't much rhyme or reason for the breaks most the time. Truly about getting "lucky" with this aggravating achievement.

I plugged at this for about an hour and finally got it with max top spin and max power from the default starting position. If you have an elite controller, you can map left stick up and right stick down to buttons to get perfect consistency every shot.

This trophy is 25% skill and 75% luck. You simply need to get the nine-ball into one of the holes on the first hit (when everything is lined up like a diamond on the centre of the table). Pick "play alone" and move the white cue ball as far left or right as you can. Then aim in the centre of the front two balls and pull all the way back for maximum power. Keep trying that until you get lucky. Another method is simply shooting straight ahead when the game starts without adjusting anything. The physics are not predictable and they can do completely different things every time so you just have to keep trying.

There are three types of billiards in the game, 8-ball, 9-ball and Rotation (maybe they are officially translated differently, I’m not an expert). To get this trophy, you need to win a bank in the 9 (hit so that your white ball is closer to the edge than the opponent’s ball) and then, during the “breaking” of the pyramid, pocket that same nine and thus get an automatic win. I managed to do it several times by placing the white ball almost to the very right side and using the strongest possible blow to direct it exactly between the first and second. Of course, there is some randomness involved, but overall it’s quite doable.
By the way, this is how you can win against the most difficult opponent with one blow, the main thing is to find the right strength to win banking (with the most difficult opponent this is really difficult)

Don't watch these videos on YouTube of how people make this trophy. You won’t be able to repeat this because there is a huge amount of randomness involved in knocking out. I was only able to pocket the ball by accident by placing the cue ball just right of center, moving my aim a little left on the front ball and hitting it as hard as I could (moving the spot on the cue ball to the very top). Hitting from the side is not at all necessary and even harmful. Out of 50 attempts to knock the trophy off the board, the nine moved, at best, 20% of the time. Often she remained in place or rolled slightly to the side. If you hit it almost head-on, the nine begins to fly around the table just as chaotically, which gives you a much greater chance of hitting the hole.
