You’ll more than likely get a lot of progress for this achievement while playing the story but you can just keep running into regular people from behind if you want to farm this achievement. If you try to run into them while they're looking at you they'll just try to avoid you or only be slightly affected by you running into them. If you want to make this achievement easier to farm make sure you get the beads of good fortune by opening all of the coin lockers in both cities and then talking to Bob right by the Kamurocho sign in premium adventures.
Note: only the male npc’s can be knocked over if you try this on female NPC's or children it simply does not work.

I'd like to add that the hunched over people are great for this and you can check your progress in the hideout under stats.

I've had some luck knocking people down from the front in particularly crowded areas like around Theater Avenue, but going for those hunched over are much easier once you get the angle right.

You may get this naturally but if not it's easy to just knock over people.
Tips:
Only men can be knocked over, don't bother with women or children. The old guys are the best as they almost always fall over. You have to run into people at full speed right in the middle of their back to trigger the falling over animation. You can loop an old guy to fall over and over so if you get 2-3 old guys you can knock them over every 15 seconds or so.
