How to unlock the Minigame Master achievement in Yakuza 3 Remastered - Definitive Guide

Since this is one of the most time consuming achievements in the game, I will give you tips for each minigame and I’ll put then in the order which I believe is the easiest to the hardest (in terms of gameplay and time). Let’s begin,

Note: These tips are from my experience along with the help of a GameFAQs guide which I’ll link at the end. If you have any tips of your own, please comment and I’ll ad them as soon as I can.

1. Roulette
• Where? Purgatory casino, Kamurocho
• Objective? Win over 20,000 chips in total.
It may not look like it, but this is by far the easiest completion in the game, if you have the right cheat item. The cheat item “Zero Jewel” can be obtained during Chapter 6
After that, he’ll give you the Zero Jewel. Now for how to use it, save outside the casino before you try anything. Now go to the roulette table and use your item during the betting stage. Now it’s just a 50/50 chance since the Zero Jewel makes the ball to fall either in the 0 or 00 so bet it all in one of them. If it doesn’t fall in the one you bet, reload your save and try again.

In case you weren’t able to get the Zero Jewel, the completion will take some time but it’s not awful. There are 2 more cheat items: 1 Black Jewel which will make the ball fall in a black number [available in the Ryukyu locker 09(Key is in the alley east of Awamorigura, on the east wall between the two planters.)] and 2 Red Jewel which will make the ball fall in a red number [in Kamurocho locker 38(Key is in Western Theater Square, on the ground near the guardrails.) and the second at rank B of Haruka’s trust].

2. Shogi
• Where? Shogi Ryukyu, west of the monorail
• Objective? Win 5 games
You could try and beat this “Japanese chess” minigame by yourself. OR you could go to challenge mode and beat challenge 1 five times. Here is the guide which will also give you the “Unwavering Shogi Player” achievement.

3. Aroma Massage
• Where? Love in heart, Kamurocho
• Objective? Get 20,000 points in the first course and 30,000 in the second
You have more than enough time to get the require score in both courses. Stay in the oranges (second and third section from the top) but prioritizing the top orange. Keep it close to the lower orange so bar doesn’t screw you when it decides to go up.

4. Blackjack
• Where? Dragon Palace Casino and Purgatory Casino, Kamurocho
• Objective? Win over 10,000 chips in one session
So, you need to win a ton of chips before you leave the table. Again, this is a piece of cake with the right cheat items. You’ll need the “Bust Amulet” [Ryukyu locker 05(Trees line Kitaryu St. On the east side of the street, count three trees from the south end to find this one in its branches (north of Ebisu Pawn) First-Person)] and at least one “Blackjack Amulet” [Kamurocho locker 23(Inside Bantam, on top of one of the speakers in the room.) and Ryukyu locker 26(In the west part of Hatsumachi, just south of the Tamashiro Office, you'll find a sidewalk area with two blue plastic cans and the key in between.)] but get the two just in case. Do this in Purgatory so you can save close to the casino. Go to the high rate table, use the Bust Amulet so the dealer busts for five hands in a row, and be careful not to bust yourself. When the effect wears off, use the Blackjack Amulet which will give you 5 blackjacks in a row. If you don’t have the amount of chips needed at that point, use the second Blackjack Amulet. You should have more than enough at that point. If not, reload.

5. Cho-han
• Where? Dragon Palace Gambling Hall, Kamurocho
• Objective? Earn 20,000 points total.
This is very simple but it will take a while. As you play, the maximum bet will raise and there’ll be more betting options, I’ll let the GameFAQs guide explain it better.

As you continue to play, the roller will offer higher stakes on such things as guessing one or both the dice. Play as you like to get the best gains. Later on, you'll be able to play the house directly once you win if you wish to increase your winnings, but this is super risky, so be prepared. Later, you might be able to have the opportunity to guess the difference between the two dice, winning the amount thereof.

Your maximum bet at the beginning is 200 tags, but as you continue to play, the ceiling for betting will be raised. It's also a matter of what chapter you're currently in. You can bet up to 500 after ten games and you're in Chapter 6. You can bet up to 800 after twenty games and you're in Chapter 7, and you can bet up to 1000 after thirty games and you're in Chapter 12. In order for these increments to happen, you have to exit and return to the game, so after every ten or so games, leave and come back to see if you can bet more.
There are some cheat Items but they don’t make much of a difference. This will take a while either way.

6. Karaoke
• Where? Karaokekan, both Kamurocho and Ryukyu.
• Objective? Get 900 points in all 6 songs
This is my personal favorite minigame. It’s just a pretty fun rhythm game. None of the songs are particularly hard (unlike Haruka’s song in Kiwami 1… I still have nightmares) but don’t expect to get them in your first try. In case you are new to this minigame or need a refresher, you need to press the displayed buttons (cn_A, cn_B, cn_Xor cn_Y) to the beat of the music, with the only exception being the ones sung by Kiryu himself, for those ones you need to go to the rhythm of the lyrics. In this game Kiryu sings one song: Kamurocho Lullaby. You can get this at any moment but I prefer combining this while completing the Hostesses dates and whenever Haruka it’s available, because it’s kinda sad to see Kiryu clapping at a song… alone… BUT you can do whatever you like.

7. Oicho-kabu
• Where? Secret Gambling Hall in Ryukyu
• Objective? Earn 10,000 tags (losses don’t count)
There are no cheat items but the game is very simple and quick. The maximum bet can also increase but it takes a long time and you’ll probably be very close to completion when the bet increases for the first time, but just in case, here’s what GameFAQs knows about it.

Initially, you'll have a maximum betting amount of 200. This can be increased by playing a certain number of times. You can increase to 500 if you play a round ten times (all four players being the banker), and you increase to 1000 if you play a round fifteen times.
8. Poker
• Where? Purgatory Casino, Kamurocho
• Objective? Win 10,000 chips cumulatively in a single session
Basically, when a round ends, the chips you won will stay in your progress regardless if you lose the same amount or more in the next round, just don’t leave the table before getting the 10,000 chips. Keep a record on a piece of paper or your phone of how many chips you win each round. Again, losses don’t count. Enter the table with a lot of chips just in case, preferably after completing the other Casino games. The cheat item “Royal Joker Card” [one in Kamurocho locker 07(This is inside the Club SEGA at Theater Square.) and another in RyuKyu locker 12(This is right next to the Taxi Stand between Kitaryu St. and Hatsumachi, in the middle of the road.)] can help a little. Use them when you have a decent hand and after the first 3 cards are revealed.

9. Koi-Koi
• Where? Secret Gambling Hall, Ryukyu
• Objective? Earn 10,000 tags (losses don’t count)
So, I can’t give you a lot of insight about this despite being the fourth time I complete this minigame. Just raise the wager in “change settings”… Yeah that’s not a lot, sorry:

10. Cee-lo
• Where? Dragon Palace in Kamurocho and Secret Gambling Hall in Ryukyu
• Objective? Win 20,000 tags (losses don’t factor in)
Another game where is going to take a long time even with cheat items. The maximum bet also rises eventually but it takes an even longer time than with cho-han. or oicho-kabu I can’t give you many tips, but I can give you the moment the bet can rise thanks to GameFAQs

Initially, you'll have a maximum betting amount of 200. This can be increased, but it requires both number of times playing the game what chapter of the game you're in. You can increase to 500 and 800 in Chapter 7 if you play ten times and fifteen times, respectively, and you can increase to 1000 by playing 20 times and being in Chapter 12.
Playing the game one time means that all four players need to have been the banker. So yeah, put some music and wait.

11. Fishing
• Where? In the beach in front of Morning Glory
• Objective? Catch every type of fish
Different baits have different ranges of catch and different fishes appear in different distances. Here is the list of fishes and their distance.

Maguro: 100m-150m
Irabucha: 50m-120m
Mibai: 50m-100m
Gurukun: 30m-100m
Abasa: 0m-50m
Green Turban: 0m-30m
Coral Branch: 0m-50m
Umbrella: 0m-50m

12. UFO Catcher
• Where? Both Sega Arcades in Kamurocho
• Objective? Get ALL of the prices
ecinrun already listed all of the prizes above. I have the understanding that all of them appear in both Sega Arcades, except for one. Silkie Piyo-chan(the black bird) appears inside a pyramid of Piyo-chans that only appear at the Theater Square Arcade. So just keep entering and exiting until you see that flock

13. Golf
• Where? Nanyou Country Club, accessible from the Ryukyu Monorail Station during daytime
• Objective? Get a score of -5 in Competition Mode
My biggest tip is to use the wind in your favor. If you hit the ball low it will be affected by the wind a lot more. I have one tip for hole 3: use the 3W 290Y and hit the ball high so you get as closed as possible to the hole.

14. Battling center
• Where? Yoshida Batting Center, Kamurocho
• Objective? Earn 1,800 points in all courses/difficulties
ecinrun gives good tips for number of hits required in all courses and some good tips for the extra hard one. Easy and normal are pretty straight forward. In hard, try getting double hits (hitting the line between panels) as much as possible so you can reduce the number of require hits, also you can't get a double hit with the middle panel. All courses repeat their own order of pitches, so use this table to know what to expect (https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/239455-yakuza-3-remastered...). Watch when Kiryu tenses up, that’s the moment to hit the ball. Also this is a rough estimate of when to hit certain speeds:
• 70-85kph – around 2 seconds
• 100-120kph – around 1 second
• +140kph – as soon as the ball is tossed

15. Shooting (Boxcelios)
• Where? Both Sega Arcades in Kamurocho
• Objective? Finish a game reaching level 50 (51 just in case)
Two huge tips: When you are shooting you are slower and remember that the 2D movement is both vertical and horizontal. With that said, this minigame will take a lot of practice. Pay attention to the presentation of the enemy so you can identify the position of his glowing weak spot, then move as close if not right to that weak spot so you can blow it in one shot. My personal view is, if you wasted more than 1 second within the first 10 levels, restart.

16. Pool
• Where? Aqua Sky, Ryukyu
• Objective? Beat all four opponents in all three modes
The next three games are a nightmare. A very good trick is to put a piece of paper in the screen and align it with the half of the ghost cue ball and the half of the target ball so you can see where will end up. Example in link:
https://www.pinterest.com.mx/pin/1039557526456146845/
Kinda like that. This trick will help you a lot. I personally play one mode from beginner to expert and then go to the next mode.

17. Bowling
• Where? Mach Bowl, Kamurocho
• Objective? Socre at least 200 in one ten-frame game
THIS IS A GOD DAMN NIGHTMARE. You are going to need a lot of strikes and specifically strikes in a row. There a lot of methods for strikes a some work with some people while others do not. My personal one is to position yourself in the right arrow next to me middle one and trying to aim as straight as possible and hit around 90-95 power. If you are a little curved, compensate with the rotation of the ball.
https://www.pinterest.com.mx/pin/1039557526456146867/
I’ll be putting any tips from the comments here because you are going to need every bit of help you can get.

18. Darts
• Where? Both Aqua Sky in Ryukyu and Bantam in Kamurocho
• Objective? Beat all six opponents (three in each location) in all three modes
If Bowling was a nightmare, this is like digging a hole with a hair comb. My general tip for aiming is this: aim to wherever you want to hit the dart, pull the right stick all the way back and then push it just a tiny little bit without letting the stick go, then move your finger away so the stick goes back to his natural position. The time between pulling it back and letting it go must be around 2 seconds. This will guarantee an on-target hit almost all of the time. Now for the tips in each mode.
• ’01 Game: Each difficulty needs a section
o Beginner – 301: Easily done in 3 rounds hitting the bullseye and even with some mistakes
o Intermediate – 501: Go only for the bullseye again and you’ll win in 4 rounds no problem
o Advanced – 701: Even though the AI is very good, it won’t win without failing some shots, unless you are VERY unlucky. It’ll take it 5 or 6 rounds to win so your aim is to win in the 5th round. Go the safe route and focus only in the bullseye. If you successfully hit bullseye in the four rounds, you’ll be at 600 points and you’ll only need 101 points for round five. You can afford some misses but by the end of round 4, you need to have between 551-600 points so your win can be achievable in the next round.
• Cricket: Aim for the 20 points and its x3 (the second red stripe from the outside), when the opponent blocks it, go for the 19, then 18, then 17, then the bullseye, then 16 and finally 15 (not like you’ll ever need beyond the bullseye). For the advanced opponents, if you don’t get a hat trick (hitting the same space 3 times in a row) with the 60pts in the first round, restart. You are going to need that advantage. In the second round, your 20 will be blocked and the opponent will be following the order I listed before, so follow it, block him and make points.
• Count-up: Aim entirely for the 60 points. The Advanced opponents almost never fail, which is BS. Hope for the best, and the best is for the AI to make a mistake

19. Mahjong
• Where? Mahjong Camp in Ryukyu and Orchid Palace Mahjong in Kamurocho
• Objective? Earn over 50,000 points in one match (the result screen’s extra points don’t count)
•DO NOT TRY THIS AT RYUKYU!!! Kamurocho’s mahjong has a lower difficulty. Now, mahjong has a… let’s say, difficult to explain way of playing. In a nutshell, you need to be the first one to make a hand with 14 tiles. Before you start the match, change the rules to “half game” (so you have more time to accumulate your points) and the rest to “use”. Now for the hand I recommend, your hand needs to have a pair, and 4 sequences (made out of 3 tiles) and you shouldn’t steal tiles form your opponents. Focus on you pair first (it can also be made with the non-numerical tiles). For the 4 sequences, make the first two and have 2 possibilities for the last 2. Each time your opponent from the right or the left discards a tile that you can integrate to your hand; you can steal it, but don’t do it because you’ll get less point. When you are one tile way from completing your hand, the game will say that you have a Riichi and it’s only a matter of time and luck for that tile to appear. If an opponent discards the tile you need, now you can steal it. Here’s an example of the type of hand you need:
https://www.pinterest.com.mx/pin/1039557526456146874/
Now I need a 4-of-circles or a 7-of-circles to complete my hand. Be patient and don’t frustrate yourself.

Lastly, I highly recommend the GameFAQs walkthrough; it gives a lot of good tips for other aspects of the game

I think people are exaggerating the difficulty of the pool game. I beat it all in two sittings. The one that took me the longest was Expert nine ball, and that still only took four games. I beat Expert Eight ball on my first try. Just use a straight edge to line up your shots on the screen.

Same with darts, really. It took a match or two to figure out the aim sensitivity, but after that I never had to redo a game more than once, with the exception of Kamurocho Advanced Cricket. The strategy in the comments was spot on, but my hands were just getting tired by that point 😂

Ironically, the intermediate player in Ryukyu was easier than either Beginner for me. He missed the board entirely with like five throws in cricket. Poor sap never scored a point.

Bowling sucks though. Get that one done early and put it out of your mind. I used this website to track my maximum score. This would help me know if I could still hit 200 or if I should restart and save time. I finally ended with exactly 200.

Sharing some thoughts and tips as have just completed this today.

For anyone that's a fan of the Yakuza series, I wouldn't be put off picking up this title because of this particular achievement. It's a mixture of 'grindy', RNG and some reaction/skill-based, but it's not the unobtainable nightmare you might imagine based on comments across different websites and forums.

For me, there were only two games I'd consider to have been 'difficult'. If you can do these, then the rest should be a cake walk.

The first was Bowling. This was due to how finicky it was and the high score needed. In the end, going two steps left and then aiming between pin #1 and #3 (biased slightly more towards #1) gave consistent results. I spent hours doing bowling over and over searching for a consistent strategy.

The second was the Batting Center. I found this to be a tad more difficult than the batting in previous titles. Thankfully, the pattern of pitches is consistent so you just need to build the muscle memory of the swings. As above poster said, Easy was more difficult than Normal and Hard!

[Darts] I didn't struggle much with this. I have an Elite Series 2 controller. I'd simply line up the dart and pull back about 3/4 of the way on the thumb stick. Going too far back sent the dart out too fast and it would miss. Going too slow would cause it to drop into the bullseye (which isn't that bad an outcome). If you can maintain consistency in your pullbacks on the thumbstick, this is not hard to clear.

[Pool] I found the previous titles much more of a pain to complete than Y3. As long as you use the top view (Y button) and imagine a straight line intersecting the cue-ball and the target ball, you will know where the target ball is going to go. Use mid-power shots and aim off the cushions if it helps you get the target ball into a closer pocket. I found shots across the length of the table to miss.. mainly due to my ability to project out the imaginary straight line.

[Mahjong] I did this on the Easy table in Ryuku. It may be that Kamuro is easier, I didn't really test it out. I got the 50,000 score very quickly - maybe within 2 hours. There was no fancy strategy; I kept all my tiles concealed (never used Kan/Pon, etc.) and then used Riichi to go out via Tsumo or Ron.

Getting 50000 points on Mahjong is a nightmare. Last thing I need for the trophy but I can’t get enough points. Unfortunately Pinfu and All Simples don’t give a lot of points on their own. You need a good starting hand and you also need to incorporate red Dora and Dora tiles into your hand.

I have done mahjong so many times in the Yakuza series that I got the 50,000 by accident attempting to get the Exposed Dragon achievement. Round and Seat winds are good ones to go for. Dragon tiles are good too.

Alright, thought i'd add a few things:
Shogi - The video above is handy, but there's an even easier way. Credit to CyricZ at GameFAQs, oddly he didn't include this in his Yakuza 3 guide but the one on Yakuza 0 also works perfectly here: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/816306-yakuza-0/faqs/74451...
UFO Catcher - The 3 Yummy Bars don't seem to be available at Theater Square, you'll need to go to the other arcade for those
Koi Koi - Some cards are way more "powerful" than others, the full moon especially. Use the in-game Hands option and look at the Moon Viewing pair. That other card with the red thing with the Japanese character on is Sake Cup, and the card with Sake Cup under the Cherry Blossom Viewing pair (the pink/red flowers with the yellow square "fence") is Curtain with Sakura. You don't need to remember the names, just go for these three whenever possible and prevent the opponent from getting them. Also, take a look at the Five Lights hand and try to get any of those as well. There's more, but that should help a lot.
Batting - As mentioned elsewhere, for Ex-hard you can drape string or something over the top of the screen to match where the cursor is in the lower difficulties. You don't need to be that exact because you have a fairly large box to aim at. Also, when you have cleared out the first set of 9 and the bonus, make an X with your next few shots. That'll give you more options to make points in less balls that if you do a + or just do 1-9 (as you get bonus points for completing Bingo lines)
Pool - Remember in 9-ball, as long as you strike the next ball in the sequence, you can use that ball to pot the 9 and win instantly. In 8-ball this works in reverse, pot the 8 and you'll instantly lose unless you've cleared your set. The AI is absurdly good, so take a deep breath and expect it. For reals.
Bowling - This is really hard compared to other Yakuza because the pin collision seem to be all kinds of broken, i've seen them clip through each other and still not fall over. This means that while there are many methods to get a strike, a lot of them aren't consistent enough. The one that worked best for me is starting on the dot second from the right, and trying to get the ball between pins 1 and 3 (aim for straight up). You can use a little bit of spin if you aim is off, but don't use much. Go as close to full power as you can. If you aim if off to the left then try to get between 1 and 2 instead with spin. Again, this won't be consistent but it worked often enough for me.
Darts - It's funny, when I first tried this I couldn't hit a single number I was aiming at. Next day, had no problems at all. Being drunk (in-game!) will make a difference, so don't booze up before, sober up if you are. I think the biggest point here is to be very smooth when pulling the right stick back. Like pool, you want to pull as straight down as possible and do not jerk the stick back. Once Kiryu's hand starts to pull back, you can release and you should hit the target. If you release slowly, the dart will drop down lower, but if you're aiming at the treble-20 this will cause you to hit to bull so you're not dropping too many points.
In Cricket mode - try to pre-empt the other player in higher difficulties. They will *always* hit the treble to close you out. So, go Treble-20 to open, treble-20 again for points, then treble-19. What this means is your opponent will have to use 2 throws to cancel you out, and will only have one left to open their own (18), so can't get points. Close the 18, then try to get treble-17 twice. If you manage up to here, you should be able to stay ahead and win.
Fishing - When reeling in the big ones, tap RB rather than holding if above green status, this will allow tension to drop without having to use LB and lose progress. This makes an absolutely massive difference when reeling in the tuna. You don't need to tap quickly, aim for a steady rhythm.

Just like in every Yakuza game these minigames were carefully constructed to give everyone a headache in one way or other. Pool and Bowling was easy for me but I spent 15+ hours on grinding the Batting mode because ultimately it is a reflex test. Darts is frustrating because even if you get the feel of a throw you can still miss several ones suddenly. I would suggest playing the middle for the two lower difficulty and the triple 20 for the high difficulty because too strong throws are rare and if you throw a weak it still falls in the middle. Golf depends heavily on the wind, a strong(er) front or back wind makes several starting hits straight up impossible because there are too big gaps between the clubs and going higher or lower to compensate won't help.
This Yakuza is surprisingly leninet with the required challenges, because in 0-2 you had to do and collect EVERYTHING but this time we got away with doing just the minigames, even if this still puts the game near the 100 hour mark.

Ironically, Easy mode for the batting minigame is probably the hardest (if you ignore the utter horseshit that is the Sinker pitch in Extra Hard). You have an extremely small margin for error with no opportunity for any bonus points. Compare that with the other modes that have tricks (like Hard's 2-for-1 hitting spots) or bonus points (Normal's ability to miss EIGHT shots compared to TWO for Easy).

If not for the goddamn Sinkers in Extra Hard, it would be a lot more doable.

Golf is the worst thing ever, the wind seems to effect the ball at random, 80% power with a 9mph wind and you get 70% of the way, next shot 60% power and you go 90% of the way? It just really feels like it’s rigged against you for some reason

Oh bowling is definitely a lot easier than that shiteshow that is pool. I just need to beat the advanced player on Rotations, but I'm frankly nae gonna bother. I came close, got up to about the 40s, and what should have been my second last ball ended up just stopping on the very edge of a corner. Just a complete stop, and a perfect setup for the AI to win. When the game itself intervenes to screw ye over, it's time to call it quits

A tip I've found for pool, while I was playing this on the PC version I was using a controller. It feels impossible to wind up and hit it straight on. I would place paper on the screen to line up a shot and would miss it 90% of the time. I started using a mouse, which lets you do a perfect straight shot, and now I was massively improved.

Make sure you talk to Bob Utsunomiya the clown either next to the stairs in Ryukyu or at the south end of Tenkachi Street in Kamurocho a total of 16 times to get all sorts of items, including cheat items, especially the Zero Jewel you get on the 15th time so don't worry about messing up in chapter 6.

A warning for anyone going through on windows, pool is busted as well as fishing but there might be a easy solution to fishing. EDIT: for pool using the mouse is better and for fishing do it at 30 fps.

My Mahjong experience has been absolutely demoralizing. I've spent roughly 15 hours in total (my most recent session was roughly 10 hours straight of failed attempts). I've came very close a couple of times, but for the most part my luck has been horrendous. I rarely post these types of comments, but this experience has been ruthless.

Another game where is going to take a long time even with cheat items.
Cee-lo can be beaten in two rolls. If you use a "1-1-1 card" cheat item when you are banker, you will get around 8000-11000 points (and this is when you bet the minimum of 200). There are 2 of these cheat items so easy completion.

Going to use this post to just put up my experiences of going through every single minigame’s challenge, updating as I go along (order is identical to the guide).

Roulette: Completed. Have nothing to note courtesy of the Zero Jewel so instead I’ll detail a spoiler-free guide on getting it.
After defeating the boss in Chapter 6, head to the next objective. When prompted, choose the top option (note: this will cost you ¥65k). You will receive another choice after leaving the building; choose the top option. Head to your next objective and the one after that. You’ll get a third choice that must be responded to with the top option. Go to your next objective, and you’ll receive your final two choices during a cutscene. Choose the top option for them both. You’ll get the Zero Jewel if you did everything right before you are called by someone.
Shogi: Completed. Had a really annoying experience getting the challenge done but it beats having to do an actual match 5 times; don’t like chess.

Aroma Massage: Completed. Very easy as long as you don’t mash cn_A like mad at the start and ignore the top bar; the Serene Dragon scores are very forgiving thanks to the finisher so there’s no need to be really risky like that.

Blackjack: Completed. I would recommend not bothering with the Bust Amulet this time if you’re going for completion as the maximum bet count can’t actually increase in this game. If you’re going for as much money as can I would however recommend it, as it allowed me to get two High Stakes games in the duration of the Blackjack Amulets, allowing me to leave with 43,000 more chips than when I entered.

Cho-han: Completed. Recommend saving for Chapter 7 to get the 800 tag maximum bet; otherwise got nothing.

Karaoke: Completed. Long as you headbang or do something to keep yourself mostly in the rhythm, you should be able to one-shot every song present pretty easily (also Kiryu singing precisely one song imo is absolutely hilarious).

Oicho-kabu: Completed. Aside from being a pretty chill and casual way to wrap up getting this achievement I’ve got nothing to note.

Poker: Completed. Really just a matter of luck and endurance, knowing when to not bet much and using your Royal Joker Cards will get you a good way (60% for me) but you’ll need Lady Luck to not burn you for long enough to get this done at the end of the day. Would recommend entering a Poker game with 6-10k chips on you to have a good amount of wiggle room on this.

Koi-koi: Completed. Had an odd time with this one. On my first day of goes I actively felt like the AI is cheating in this minigame with how how they have a tendency to pull up two 20-point cards out in one turn, so I get promptly fucked with a Moon Viewing or Cherry Blossom Viewing, in conjunction with getting fucked with a SEVENTEEN point hand that one time (this was without the 2x point multiplier btw). On my second day however I noticed I was winning pretty consistently, with the only fuck up of note being my shitty controller (it works well enough with these games that I bother to use it and conserve the one that actually does work) causing me to declare koi when I didn’t want to; can’t really fault the AI on that one. Also found it to be both a pretty fun session in addition to finally figuring out how to properly play it. Basically, you’re supposed to make pairs with the cards on the table and the ones in your hand, with them being similar aesthetically in some manner. That allows you to, with some memorisation, strategically discard a card so that (provided the AI doesn’t use it in their turn, whether intentionally or by accident with the second draw) you can use another card to make a pair with just your hand. Makes the minigame enjoyable in a way similar to mahjong tbh.

Cee-lo: Completed. First up, recommend saving this one till Chapter 7, where you can eventually do a maximum bet of 800 tags; the cheat items will only get you ~20% of the way with a maximum bet of 200. Secondly, the target is a lie. Unless if you somehow complete this solely as the banker, the target is closer to 10,000, as for whatever reason, winning while not the dealer has the tags won and your initial bet count towards the completion criteria. No idea why but can’t say I’m complaining.

Fishing: Completed. Much easier than I was expecting tbh, I had more trouble getting the right fish hooked than actually getting them to shore; the tuna in particular was a joke compared to my expectations to catch. I was genuinely expecting the other 100+m fish instead when I got it, was that easy.

UFO Catcher: Completed. Awful to the point that I’m getting this done ASAP in all "Like a Dragon" games going forward. All up, UFO Catcher is easily the worst minigame to complete on this list imo, mainly due to the big cats and their addiction with fucking you over somehow. Get them out of the way as soon as you can and you might be able to save yourself from great frustration. Aside from that, doing this bit by bit per chapter is probably the way to go all up, just don’t save this for last. (And also get some time allocated so that you can go for the black bird, that one’s a chore to get.)

Golf: Completed with a -6. Putting is a pain at times but otherwise this is one of those minigames where practice really pays off. Put in enough attempts at the tournament and make use of the 1/2 power feature and this’ll come sooner or later.

Batting: Completed. Aside from Easy being harder than Normal and Hard for some reason (I know why, it’s just silly) and somehow managing to softlock myself on Normal by hitting the middle Home Run but also not (didn’t get my next ball as a result) plus a hit on EX Hard being… absolutely nonsensical there isn’t really anything of note for Easy-Hard. The Gold Rushes in 0 were worse tbh. EX Hard is a different story though. I managed to complete it without a sticky note or some other form of external help, and while CyricZ helped a bit, for the most part I got through by experimenting. Here’s what I found:
* Vertical Left Panels: Aim the bat so that the panel you’re hitting is roughly halfway between Kiryu and the right side of the screen, leaning towards the right side (this is the one note I got from CyricZ);
* Vertical Middle Panels: Bat only needs to be aimed up and down;
* Vertical Right Panels: Aim the bat so that you’re covering the numbers on the left panels with Kiryu’s lefy arm;
* Horizontal Bottom Panels: Aim the bat so that Kiryu’s eyes are a little bit above the panels;
* Horizontal Middle Panels: For the left and right panels aim the bat a little bit downwards. No aiming is required for the middle one;
* Horizontal Top Panels: Aim the bat so that’s Kiryu’s eyes are roughly at the bottom of the panels;
* Fast Sinker and Curve shots (~110mph+): Press cn_A when the ball has curved back towards you for a little bit; I didn’t find using the visual cue here particularly useful.
Also note that if you’re doing this without any form of reticle, the bonus targets are not an option due to their size. As a result, if you miss three balls, restart, because you’re not gonna make it at that point.

Boxcelios: Completed with a record of level 63. Really fun but also probably up there with pool for the most annoying minigame of them all (that’s actually fun), as I was always able to reach the 40s, but kept failing to reach level 50 as I kept getting fucked by 2-3 levels that sapped away all of my remaining time. Kinda felt like I lucked out on the successful attempt tbh.

Pool: Completed. Another weird one. This is definitely the hardest of the 4 big minigames to complete due to the AI being frankly way too punishing on Expert and Advanced, but the tricks for this minigame make it significantly more manageable (got a perfect game - 73 points without giving the AI a single chance to hit the cue ball - Advanced rotation win thanks to them in addition to allowing me to take care of Expert in 41 minutes (4 for nine-ball, 25 for eight-ball, and 12 for rotation)). I know most have been said elsewhere already, but can’t hurt to put them out here again. The tricks are the following:
* Make sure when you’re hitting the cue ball you’re holding the right stick completely down, nowhere to the left or right. That will completely screw up your shot;
* Use either a hand or a piece of paper (recommended: easier to get a good idea of where the ball will go after being hit) to line up your shots, making sure you are (with paper) covering up half of both the cue ball’s projected destination and the ball you intend to hit or (with hand) make sure it’s at the mid point of the aforementioned balls;
* USE THE LEFT BUMPER/LB TO DISABLE THE HUD so that you don’t have to aim for the bottom corner and top left corner pockets blind. Really wish I found that out sooner;
* In nine-ball, I would recommend just going for the break ace. It’s a bit of a crapshoot, sure, but it skipping a good four pool matches imo is a worthwhile tradeoff. To do so, when banking, go halfway on the cue stick plus a teeny bit more. If you do it right right you’ll get a basically perfect bank. In the break shot, place the ball all the way to the right, then aim it so that it barely, and I mean barely, will hit the one-ball, then go full power, put some spin to the top and a little bit to the left, and pray;
* In rotation, if you’re able to get the break shot, place the ball all the way to the right and hit the one-ball directly with full power. Most of the time that’ll pocket one (or two if you’re lucky) of the first three balls and give you a good opportunity to get a good streak to start off the game (or just do what I did with my Advanced rotation win, give the AI the finger, and just win instead).

Bowling: Completed with 221. Definitely an annoying time but thanks to a strategy I found by Tifette that only really applies to getting the half bar when the ball is aiming between pins 1 and 3, especially as if you put too much power into the spin you’ll get a split and will probably be screwed out of a spare, losing you a good 30 potential points. If you’re unable to get the half bar and Kiryu is about to throw the ball just reset the spin to default so that you can realistically at least get a spare (or a strike if you’re lucky; I think it’s 50/50 without the half bar spin, that basically guarantees it). Aside from that, only other thing of note is that I strongly echo Trombonafide‘s tip of getting the Bowling Genius website up so that you can make sure if it’s worth it to keep going, though I will add that if you’re unable to get at least a spare on two frames you should probably just restart.
(P.S Here’s my winning game for those that want some sort of reference: Text Condenser.)

Darts: Completed. Honestly this isn’t that hard (but don’t get the wrong picture, it’s absolutely not easy: you really need to focus) as long as you know how to throw the dart properly. Personally I found (in part thanks to the "Like a Dragon 3" video by Nyomi Henden) that, using the dart as a loose reticle, once the dart is slightly under the triple 20 (by a bit more than a smidge), hold the right stick down to the bottom right, as right as you can while still setting Kiryu up to get into position to throw. Wait a teeny bit for him to steady and then release. Much more often then not you’ll get the triple 20 this way, and if you screw up due to the throw being too slow, you’ll get a bull hit so the strat also has a backup, which is really helpful against the Advanced AI. For Cricket the other triples I found I could consistently hit with the dart directly aiming towards the triple in question.

Mahjong: Completed with 64,400 points. By and large I don’t think I can say much aside from playing Half Games and activating Red Dora and possibly the Two Han Minimum. If you’ve gotten this far on your completionist journey, there’s basically no way in hell you don’t know how to play mahjong at a good enough level to get this done with enough preservance (had a game where I almost got it done but dealt into a mangan on the same game as the one where I finally got Exposed Dragon, and also had two games where I managed to reach 40,000 points pretty quickly but then wasn’t able to keep the momentum going; game where I got this done showered me with half flushes and dora all the way until South 2 where I managed to bust someone). You might want to get a yaku list, just in case (unless if "LaD 3" has one; I haven’t bothered checking the minigame tutorials this time around), but by and large I had very good fortunes with All Triplets so I’d recommend going for that if you start with at least two pairs or manage to quickly assemble one or two of them.

Minigames completed: 19/19

Final word: Really enjoyed getting this done all things considered. As much as I love the Completion List, I do in all honesty prefer not needing to bother with an unnecessary equipment grind (which frankly aside from eating everything is the only notable thing excluded from completing 3 compared to 0-"K2" anyhow). Do feel like a minigame master now with how I am considerably better at multiple minigames, which will be real handy for when I have to 100% 5 (bonus edit: now that I’ve conpleted 5’s Completion List, I have to say, this was honestly not useful outside pool: everything else was either easy enough anyway or was changed up so that I needed new strategies there; nothing in that Completion List minigame-wise I’d call harder than the stuff in here though). All up, great achievement minus UFO Catcher being shit and some overtuned AI here and there. smile

Do you have to have 50,000 or more before the end of the match cause i had over 50,000 lost it yet it somehow didn't count for the completion

Some quick notes about the Mahjong minigame completion requirement, which is one of the hardest to achieve:

You start with 25,000 sticks and your goal is to get to 50,000 sticks by the end of the game. The 50,000 does not include 1st/2nd place bonuses applied after the end of the game.

You will probably find it helps a lot to switch from the default "quarter game" setting to "half game". This doubles the length of the game and gives you more chances to build up a score.

You're probably better off trying for 50,000 sticks in the ranked competition at the Mahjong parlor in Kamurocho. Why? Because you're probably going to be trying many times, and there is no cost to participate. If things aren't going well for you, just quit the minigame and try again -- no harm done.

A little advice on billiards.

Most likely, you already know that for simplicity, you can use a ruler and determine more precisely where the ball will roll. BUT! In the remaster, the developers made things a little more sophisticated and added complexity to the already difficult billiards game.

Namely: at the very last moment, when you use the right stick to determine the force of the blow and directly hit the ball with the cue, you can “mess up” a little, as a result of which the blow will not be in a straight line, as you planned, but a little to the right or left.

The thing is that the developers have increased the micro mechanics of the impact and made it VERY sensitive.

Now if you need a normal, clear strike, your task is to move the right stick (during the strike) clearly vertically. There should not be even the slightest distortion horizontally - the blow will be screwed up. I advise you to do this with your index finger and place it on the stick in a clear vertical direction. It is also important not to make sudden movements - no need to pull back the stick and just let go - the blow will be blurred. Keep your finger on the stick until the very end!
I advise you to move the stick about a third for a strong blow and a quarter for a weaker one. Smoothly - without sudden movements.
When you hit, don't look at the screen, watch your finger.

If you are hitting at a short distance, then this can be ignored, but if it is a long-range strike, then you most likely cannot do without this advice.

At first I was skeptical, but I didn’t find a better method for myself with billiards than this. In 80% of cases, the balls began to fly where they should. The main thing is that the ruler is not too thick and is fixed at a right angle.

A little baseball tip. Before you go to extra hard, go to normal or hard and stick a piece of paper tape on the screen in the crosshair area and mark the aiming point on it. The tape is see-through, and since there is no sight on extra hard, this will help you hit where you need to.
And now a list of balls and their arrival (the speed is approximate, the direction of arrival is indicated by arrows -
↓ - straight, → - left, ← - right)
1) 150↓
2) 70→
3) 120←
4) 80↓
5) 140←
6) 80→

Mahjong advice.
Don't play the Quarter game, you'll only waste time. The best and easiest way is to play the Half game, there are more rounds, you can win more mahjong sticks per match

Hard-court baseball tip: forget the tape, you'll ruin the TV! Start the game on normal - hang a couple of transparent plastic bags on the TV - draw a crosshair with a marker. Start hard - focus on the drawn sight. Passed it 2 times this way.

For baseball:
1) If you, like me, don’t want the hassle of pasting over the TV, then here isa text guide (en) with markings of where to stand to get there.
I went through them myself, everything was fine, all the hits worked. Plus, from the fifth time you will already remember all the positions and all you have to do is remember the speed of the balls

2) Here is the speed of all the balls, knowing this will make it a little easier to be prepared:

1. Fastball (fast) 2. Curveball (slow) 3. Sinker (fast) 4. Fastball (slow) 5. Sinker (fast) 6. Curveball (slow) 7. Sinker (fast) 8. Sinker (slow) 9. Curveball (medium) 10. Fastball (fast) 11. Sinker (medium) 12. Curveball (medium) 13. Curveball (medium) 14. Fastball (medium) 15. Fastball (fast) 16. Sinker (slow) 17. Curveball ( fast) 18. Sinker (fast) 19. Fastball (slow) 20. Fastball (fast)

"Complete" all minigames means "complete all challenges" on the completion sheet. Some minigames have (relatively) simple conditions, for example 200 points in 10 rounds of bowling (get it if you complete all substories).
Others... let's just say they went too far with darts and billiards.
For a minigame to be "completed", all conditions in it must be marked in red.

A little baseball tip(?) when you clear the first 3x3 field on extrahard, you knock out 9 fields, and then you NEED to knock out the target that appears. Without it, you need to play perfectly, so I highly recommend knocking out the target. So, the 10th ball, if you haven’t missed a single target before, will be very fast and very difficult to hit, especially considering that you still need to aim very accurately with the left stick. as I did - I missed 1 ball before the last field (9th ball), hit the 9th field with the 10th (very fast), and then hit the target with the 11th ball, which is much slower. After that, it became easier to get 1800 points and I even knocked it out with an advantage and got more than 2000.

For baseball:

I made a strip of wide tape, which I glued to itself (so that it would not stick to the TV screen) and already drew a crosshair on it. Thus, it is fixed normally on the TV frame, and is absolutely transparent, and does not leave glue on the screen.

I noticed that I miss the ball much more often than I hit before. After that, I just started hitting earlier and passed on the third try. Slow balls (70-80) began to cause more problems - they were hit by Kiryu’s animation (when he stops swinging the bat and raises his elbow, a split second, but on slow balls it’s quite possible to catch the moment).

Before each shot, check the hint above - where the ball will fly from and at what speed.

In terms of points - if you missed the bonus target - re-enter, you won’t get 1800 (only if you don’t make a single miss, which is unlikely).
If you made more than three misses along the way (even taking into account the downed target), re-enter.
