How to unlock the Testament to Strength achievement in Yakuza 3 Remastered - Definitive Guide
All of my knowledge of this is from the ps4 version so if anything is different comment and I'll update the guide.
To unlock this achievement, you need to complete the game on Legend/Extra Hard (PS4 name of the difficulty). The only difference is Legend/Extra Hard can only be unlocked after finishing the game on Hard first, so if your first run was on Normal, make sure to do a run on Hard difficulty next. Just like legend in past games save often cause if you lose a fight you go right back to your last save
To make fights easier, completing all substories in your regular playthrough or In premium adventures is recommended, as the reward is a Golden Pistol. This weapon isn't extraordinarily powerful, but it does let you get through every battle in Legend without coming close to death. Another good thing to have equipped is Beads of Good Fortune will also remove all random battles from the streets and cut down on the play time of that playthrough by quite a bit. The beads of good fortune item is unlocked by opening all the lockers in the game. Just a reminder to make this playthrough go fast you can hold RB and A to skip dialogue fast and to skip cutscenes (turn event skip on in the options to skip cutscenes).

Very doable with the Golden Pistol and the Beads of Good Fortune. I ran through both hard and legend in about 5.5 hours total. I think I only had to heal once.
About half of the bosses get stunlocked by the pistol. These die by just pressing Y over and over. The others require evading, getting a few shots in and repeating this process. To me, the second Majima fight was the most annoying, since he can actually dodge most of your bullets.
Also, doing this twice in a day will really make you hate those orphans. I'd say almost half of your time in a speedrun will be spent on doing those stupid fetch quests for them.

Using the War God Amulet you get for completing all the heat actions is a decent add-on on top of the Beads and Golden Pistol. Constantly spamming heat actions helps against bosses that just shrug off the pistol.

First things first: You cannot start a Legend Mode playthrough until you complete the game on Hard. This is different from many other Yakuza games where you can unlock the Legend playthrough on Normal difficulty!
Legend Mode is not significantly more difficult than Hard in terms of enemy strength. The tricky part is that if you die or lose a chase scene, you will Game Over and you must reload from a save game.
My overall recommendation for a nice, smooth, 4-ish hour playthrough? Get these items:
- Golden Pistol (complete all 119 Substories, including Amon)
- Beads of Good Fortune (open all lockers)
- Also consider getting the War God Amulet (perform all heat actions)
The Golden Pistol reduces almost all boss fights to a simple matter of pressing a bunch while standing still. Beads of Good Fortune ensures no enemies appear on the street. War God Amulet gives you absolutely unlimited heat actions.
Where things can start costing you considerable time are the two complex chase scenes in Kamurocho: Chasing down Mack, and chasing the Chinese Mafia Officer. If you fail to catch your target, you will Game Over. Unfortunately, both of these chase scenes occur immediately after lengthy walking & combat sequences. In the case of the Officer chase scene, you can save your game at the Majima Family Office after leaving Purgatory. This will save some time if you have to retry. To assist in these chase scenes, consider using the Runner's Necklace, which you can fashion at Kamiyama Works with a combination of a Protective Amulet, Magnetized Metal, and a Toughness Emperor. When equipped, this item increases your health gauge in chase sequences.
Also, don't forget that you can hold down R1 + X to skip quickly through text-based dialog sequences.

Please note that to unlock Legendary difficulty, you must beat the game on at least Hard difficulty.
So, either we go through on easy, knock out all the side effects and trophies there, and then pumped up and with a golden pistol with endless ammo in NG+, we run the Hard marathon, and then again NG+ on Legend. Or we go straight to Hard, and then NG+ on Legend
Of the difficulties on Legend, only the pursuit missions on chapters 5 and 8 will present, since if you didn’t have time to catch up, then the end of the game and loading will be from the last save, and the stamina bar there will empty out very quickly. You probably won't succeed on the first try, so you'll have to practice a little and watch a video on YouTube to pass.
