How to unlock the Amon Defeated achievement in Yakuza 6: The Song of Life - Definitive Guide

Unlike the other games in the Yakuza series to fight this Amon you don’t need to complete all substories. To fight this Amon all you need to do is complete 2 specific substories. The substories you need to complete are related to Sodachi (The owner of the dojo saejima could run in Yakuza 4 and could fight in 5) and Saigo (The person who trained Akiyama in Yakuza 4 and 5). I’m gonna quickly go over their substories so you can unlock the Amon fight which takes place in the final chapter of the game.

Sodachi- Sodachi substory starts in chapter 1 but you cannot finish it til chapter 6. In order to start his substory and you must first complete “#23: We are Committed to Results” which is the Rizap gym substory. After completing that substory Sodachi will challenge you to a fight. After beating him in that fight you will now have to wait til chapter 6 to complete the rest. Once you’re in chapter 6 Sodachi will be roaming the city and you will have to fight against him a few times. After winning a few times you will have to meet him in Children’s Park and defeat him one last time to complete the substory.

Saigo- Saigo will appear in chapter 4 laying on the floor right by the Taxi at the ropeway in Onomichi. When you talk to him he’ll ask for a specific bento. The bento you need is called “Bento Lunch Set (Pork)” which is not sold anywhere in Onomichi. To get this bento you need to buy it at the Poppo convenience store near the Yoshida Batting Center in Kamurocho. Once you’ve given Saigo the bento lunch set you’ll have to fight him and win. After you’ve won he’ll be wondering about Onomichi. Look out for a purple dot on the map. If you follow the purple dot you'll see him and a notification over his head. Now you have to fight him 2-3 times. After a while, during the day during chapter 5, he will go back to where you gave him the Bento Lunch Set and you will have to fight him one last time.

Once you’ve beaten both of those substories and have reached the final chapter of the game Amon will send you a text message saying the time has come yet again. This fight might only be available at night so heads up if you’re doing this in premium adventure. Now that you’ve gotten the text and the substory has begun you can take a taxi to Amon’s Island. Before we do any of that if you want to make this fight super easy we’re gonna do a few things first. First, we’re gonna change the difficulty to Easy just to make this super easy. After doing that, buy some tauriners+ or Staminan XX at either city's pawnshops cause we’re gonna abuse the Extreme Heat RT ability. Last, of all we’re gonna save then go drink a CC Lemon, which you can get from the BOSS vending machine at the bottom of Nakamichi Street which will give you an attack up.

Now that we’ve prepared, get into a taxi and head to Amon’s Island. A cutscene will play for a bit and then the fight will start. For a majority of the fight we’re just gonna use the Extreme Heat RT ability and depending on what you want to do you can either just keep spamming punch at him or try to use Essence of Repeating Knee (If you have the ability unlocked) by holding RB and Y to kick him and try to get the heat symbol to appear and then do the QTE to do more damage and just keep spamming that move. When your Extreme Heat wears off immediately use a Tauriner+ or StaminanXX and immediately go back into Extreme Heat. Keep doing either method til you see Amon put an orange shield around himself which makes him take significantly less damage. This shield doesn’t mean much since you can basically still just spam attacks in Extreme Heat until he dies. Hopefully, Amon should be dead by the time all the drones and Roomba’s swarm you and explode on you. After the fight is over you’ll unlock your achievement and a cutscene will play and you’ll unlock a rare variant of Amon for Clan Creator.

This will the last game we see Kiryu fight, Amon, unless you want to count Kenshiro using Kiryu’s outfit in the Fist of the North Star Lost Paradise game.

Also, the difficulty for this battle doesn’t affect other achievements. I did it 10+ times on normal and kept dying when the drones would kamikaze bomb you all at once when Amon was at 20%ish health. Dropped it to easy finally out of frustration and didn’t even need to heal once. Still was able to unlock all the other achievements as well, it’s not like 4-5 where there was a normal without dropping difficulty achievement.

This is the easiest Amon fight in the series, at least for me. Leveled everything to 300, got every skill and the fight took all of 2 minutes. Even on easy, some of the other fights gave me trouble. For this one(on easy), I didn't even use a single healing item. Used Tiger Drop a few times, triggered Extreme Heat and pounded away. Used Tiger Drop a few times to build up my heat again, used Extreme Heat. I might have had to use Extreme Heat a third time, but the fight was over so quickly I don't remember. I assumed I'd be dealing with multiple health bars, but I ended up killing him before any of the drones or roombas got involved. I'm actually shocked at how simple it was compared to the other games.

Can't believe how easy he was this time around, although I did save this for last and overprepare. Max stats, rainbow mouth guard and dragon god amulet from Kamurocho black market (I had the cash after grinding Kiryu Clan), and a CC Lemon for strength just before leaving.

Extreme heat, mash X til heat done, 5 vanilla tauriners, extreme heat, done. Probably could have got him in the first heat activation if I'd hit the QTEs properly.

Great guide.

Just to add to this, you can get staminan x and tauriner from poppo, tauriner+ and toughness zz from ebisu and then staminan xx, staminan royale, tauriner++ and tauriner maximum from the black market.

In fact, if you've been grinding the fishing, mahjong and clan creator you should have enough money for the black market items transcendent mouth guard (about 1.2 million) and dragon god amulet (about 5.5 million) which make this fight ludicrously easy even on normal difficulty as your attack is really high, especially if you've maxed all base stats.

I used cc lemon as suggested then items 4 toughness zzs, 5 tauriner, 3 tauriner+s, 4 staminan xs and 2 staminan xxs to beat amon.

You need to have finished the Sodachi (Kamurocho) and Saigo (Onomichi) substories before this one will become available.

The Amon boss fights are infamous in the Yakuza series for being the most difficult fights in the game, but Yakuza 6's is one of the easiest. Why? Because you can set the game in Easy mode and a lot of the difficulty is scrubbed clean away.

Here's my recommended approach.
- Do this in Premium Adventure
- Don't attempt this until you have 300 in all stats, as well as all skills
- Set the game to Easy Mode
- Stack up on healing items and Tauriners
- Drink a CC Lemon, which you can get from the BOSS vending machine at the bottom of Nakamichi Street
- Run over to the Taxi on W Showa Street, then make a new save file. This is VERY important because the game will save at the beginning of the Amon boss fight... so if you aren't careful, your Premium Adventure save file will be stuck at Amon!

In the fight itself, frankly, just lay into Amon. Three or four squares, and one triangle. Don't over-input; count the button presses out. You can also try landing some Tiger Drops (R1 + triangle). Give yourself some breathing space here and there and get used to how Amon moves around.

At around 2/3 health, drones will start appearing. Just ignore them, and punch away as much as you can. Every so often, a drone might hit you which will stun you for a few seconds. Amon will fight back and you'll need to heal, but don't put the healing off... he has attack sequences that will scrub off 50% of your health in a few seconds. Stay as close to maximum as you can throughout this fight.

By the time you whittle him down to 1/2 health, the drones will start dropping little robots (similar to the one from the robot vacuum substory); they will home in on you and explode. At this point, switch over to Dragon Heat mode (R2) and lay into Amon with everything you've got. This approach does not work well in any difficulty level other than Easy. At some point you're going to start hearing a loud beeping sound from the robot vacuums.... soon as you hear this, RUN. Get as far away from Amon as possible, since the robots will explode, and that's an instant death for you.

Amon will pop an invincibility shield at some point... just keep fighting thorugh it. When you run out of Dragon Heat, scarf down some Tauriners, get back to maximum heat, and go right back into it. Be sure to enjoy the unique responses from Amon when he blocks your Dragon Heat punches.... keep going anyways since you will still do some damage to him.

All in all, this should take less than 2 minutes.... not counting the 60+ hours you probably put in to build up Kiryu to this point, of course.

In this part, Amon is not particularly difficult, but he can pose problems. So here are a couple of tips before fighting him.
1) Full pumping. You definitely can’t go to him without it, since Amon hits him very hard.
2) Buy protein from the gym and all possible Taurnier from shops and underground dealer in the sewer (Kamurocho) or alley (Onomichi). Protein is one of the best heals in the game, and although it is quite expensive, it will come in very handy. Taurnier needs to be hacked for Extreme Heat Mode.
3) Always use Extreme Heat Mode. In addition to enhancing attacks and Heat Action, Extreme Heat provides one important advantage - it prevents you from dying. Despite the fact that health is spent as usual, when health reaches zero, this mode does not allow you to die. And when Amon starts blowing up drones and mines, it will be a one-shot, so at these moments you urgently need to turn on Extreme Heat.
Otherwise, you can hit him as usual, not forgetting to use blocks and dodges, because... Amon can kill very quickly even without drones and mines.
