How to unlock the Dragon of Legend achievement in Yakuza 6: The Song of Life - Definitive Guide

Legend difficulty is unlocked immediately after just beating the game on any difficulty. For this achievement, we are gonna do an exploit that allows you to only have to do the last fight on Legend this glitch was in the PS4 version (I just did the glitch on Xbox and PC and it still works. If for whatever reason it gets patched out I'll update the guide). Once you’ve reached the point of no return in the final chapter when you talk to Nagumo in Serena to say you’re ready for the final battle. For now, you’re gonna hit no and you’re gonna go make 2 new completely different save slots. Now that you have 2 different save slots like save 1 and Save 2. Now that you have the slots go beat the game normally. After you’ve beaten the game you should see that you’ve unlocked legend go load up the save that doesn’t have clear data on it. Once it’s loaded up go change the difficulty to legend and go beat the game again and the achievement should unlock. On your legendary run after you've beaten the game you can finally skip the credits to make it go by a little bit faster. The achievement should unlock when you get to the results screen.

Can confirm, as of August 11, 2021, changing the difficulty to Legend before starting the final two fights will get this.

Worked like a charm, thanks for helping me get my first 1,000/1,000 ever in a Yakuza game. clap toast rock

I will say this though: Bring healing/items. The enemies hit extremely hard, even with maxed out stats. I was losing health quickly and almost died once because of it.

Can you do this method on NG+? Run through the game with maxed out everything on easy and switch to legend for the last fight. Great exploit, thanks for the guide.

I'm assuming you can just because I think the game is only scanning what difficulty you're at during the ending scene.

This method does work for NG+. Just got the achievement(and my 1000). It takes 2.5 hours to run through the game.

I don't see this ever getting "fixed". The final fights are a joke if you spam dropkicks, and when you get extreme heat you can use the heat action that is triggered following a dropkick. The bosses easily fall for it and you will have legend done in a few minutes (hell, you can even continue on legend in this game if you are still struggling, not that it matters.

Still works. Took me less than 10 minutes from getting 'Thank You' to beating Legend. I honestly didn't even feel the need to get fancy and just spammed his usual combo and the Ultimate Heat X spam. The fighting is really dumbed down and easier in this one despite you taking a lot of damage. I brought a few healing items but ultimately realized I had leftover RIZAP stuff and those basically heal you to full, so you can take any punishment.

Also, the thought of the villains having to watch Kiryu down whole bags of protein powder mid-fight...priceless. laugh

Took me 2 tries because I was not prepared for the ridiculous damage. Limit+ from Rizap is a great healing item to supplement the others, I did still have some left when I won though. Extreme heat X mashing got me hurt, but Y and a few lucky tiger drops while constantly refilling heat got it done.

Still works! Saved me a lot of time (not that I didn't really enjoy this game. I just have so many of them get through.)

And Apostle92627 is very correct: bring healing and keep an eye on your health gauge. It will go down faster than you'd expect.

I elected to just start a new run of the game on Legend from beginning to end because I wasn't sure if your exploit was patched out or not. And Apostle92627 is correct on the strong recommendation of bringing boatloads of healing items. You can lose chunks of health quickly when confronting large numbers of enemies in the main campaign as well as bosses. The best recovery items are actually the five supplement items in RIZAP, the MUSCLE item fully recovering your health bar from no matter how low it is. Getting a max quantity of 10 on each of the five items will cost you 760,000 yen, but worth noting is the 1,000,000 yen bonus you get for initially clearing the game, so that more than covers it.

Yeah, this is a joke. Boss 1’s first bar gets crushed by charging cn_Y then releasing while Nagumo’s distracting him for the kick, while his second doesn’t last one use of Extreme Heat. Boss 2 is basically the only enemy in the game where it actually felt worthwhile to Tiger Drop him (6’s enemy AI I find very hostile to counters), and it makes him swiss cheese. Wouldn’t recommend the dropkick Heat Action for either though: Extreme Heat Heat Actions seem to have a fetish of their prompt not triggering properly for some reason.
Also, the thought of the villains having to watch Kiryu down whole bags of protein powder mid-fight...priceless.
Honestly this is especially funny given Kiryu’s mental situation during the final fight especially; mate is so pissed off that said boss hits him and Kiryu just ignores said hit while eating.

Unlike earlier games in the series, you do not need to complete the game on "Hard" before doing "Legend". As long as you have completed the game once, you can do a Legend playthrough.

When starting a Legend playthrough based on an existing Premium Adventure save file, you will keep the following:
- Skills
- Inventory and equipment
- Money
- Most Adventure and Minigame award progress
- All Battle award progress
- Kiryu Clan character levels and win counts
- Spearfishing collected spears
- Friendship level with New Gaudi patrons, up to level 3
- Hostess levels and profile progress, except for Diamond level
- Baseball player levels
- Cat friendship levels

You will not keep:
- Substory completion
- Kiryu Clan progress
- Trouble Missions
- Spearfishing level
- Baseball player recruitment
- Kiryu Clan members that are found in-game; members obtained through a code will be available from the beginning.
- Darts rival victories
- Cat collection (they must be found again, but they retain their full friendship level)
- Completion of Live Chat girls

Effectively, what this means is that any completions award tied to a substory, either directly or indirectly, becomes available again. You may find this very helpful if you're trying to complete the "Kiryu Clan Enforcer", "Peak Kiryu" and "Skill Master" trophies.

As with all Yakuza Legend mode playthroughs, remember to save often! You should be able to do the playthrough in about six hours while skipping cutscenes. Carry a full supply of goods from RIZAP, especially when going to the shipyards late in the game.

Make a save before the final (You will be warned that the end is near) -> Finish the game (Save in another slot) -> Load the pre-final save -> Change the difficulty to Legend -> Finish the game again = The trophy is yours!
