How to unlock the Dragon of Legend achievement in Yakuza Kiwami - Definitive Guide

Legend difficulty for the most part shouldn't be too difficult if approached correctly.

-Be sure to start Legend difficulty in NG+ mode. You will carry over all of the abilities Kiryu acquired throughout the game. Tiger Drop can make most of the boss encounters really easy and fast. It can be acquired through Komaki training (it's 10th upgrade you get). I would suggest completing Climax Battles before starting Legend difficulty. You get used to some boss patterns like Atobe, which makes it easier to fight him on Legend.

-Chapter 9 car chase is usually a part that people find really difficult. It will probably take you couple tries to get it so you should be ready to spend at least a hour on this part, probably more. There are couple guides on youtube, personally I used devilleon7 video for this car chase:

During the sequence don't aim for headshots, aim for the center of the circle. Headshots don't have anything to do with critical damage. Aiming for the centre of the circle will deal more damage.
The truck has 4 stages:
-Stage 1: Focus on the second guy (to the right) and kill him
-Stage 2: Focus on the cars, they will stop coming after a while. Use your focus on rockets to take them out
-Stage 3: It's probably the hardest part. I focused on the guy on the truck and used focus to get motorcycle guys to not shoot me when they went orange.
-Stage 4: I started with focus, then continue to shoot and just about when he was starting to charge again into focus to break his charge. I did duck once in the car but you could kill him before his second charge if you are accurate enough.

-Last part that people had difficulties is a helicopter pad fight during the last chapter. I didn't really had a hard time with this, I would suggest to get couple strong weapons to do quick work on the 2 guys with the boss. If you have equip sacrifice stone. I also stocked my inventory with toughness infinity and Staminan Spark bought at Casino since you can easily acquire them there. I had quite a bit left so full inventory should be enough to get through this fight.

-Lastly, couple tips I used. I usually played with combination of Rush and Dragon style and using Brawler on occasions. You can build heat quite easily with Rush and use that to execute heat actions. I didn't use much weapons, just guns of other enemies that were dropped. I didn't use a lot of Beast style because most bosses are too fast for it, I only found it useful for groups of little guys, but even at those times Rush style worked well enough.

If you are having any problems, hope you find this useful.

Really good advice Dresden! I just wanna add that the Patriarch Driver also works wonders, if you don't have the bat. (I sold it in my first playthrough to get enough $$ for the 100 weapons) Its damage is a bit lower than the Kinryu Bat but it has bigger range.

Tip from Dresden goes for the entire story. Oncz you get past chapter 9, it is smooth sailing!

For the car chase, the circles around the enemies have lines that move from horizontal to vertical which indicate when they will attack. This is useful knowledge for the last part of the sequence to know when to duck just before the truck rams your car.

Tbh the car chase shooting is nothing but repetitive nonsense and eventually your muscle memory will lock in and yay. Once it's unlocked, it's unlocked.

Just did chapter 9 in 2 tries. Honestly once you know to not aim for heads it was easier to manage.

For the car chase sequence, does anyone know if you can plug in a mouse to aim with? I’ve been banging my head against this for months and just want to get it done at this point.

Its like doiruku say, this shit its pure muscle memory.
A tip I can give is to use heat mode wisely, always watch the enemies with the circle forming red and focus on them as fast as possible, two shots in most of them cancels the attack immediately and the circle turns green again.

For those getting tired of running through the restaurant fight in Chapter 9 before the car chase, I have a slightly faster method to deal with Lau Ka Long and his minions.

This will probably be your last achievement on a NG+ save, so you should have a lot of OP equipment. Equip the Legendary Kinryu Bat, Calming Towel, and Amon Sunglasses. (Dragon Mail for your armor is recommended but not absolutely necessary.) Your Dragon of Dojima skill tree should also be maxed, which contains the Bat Mastery skill.

All of the above will allow you to infinitely use this OP bat (it's a Coliseum reward for 40,000 points available after the finale). The only downside is that you temporarily can't use heat actions with this setup. Not that you need it, though. Most enemies will die in one or two hits, and Lau Ka Long himself doesn't last long against your attacks. This can reduce the restaurant fight to as little as 4 minutes, leaving you more time for car chase attempts. Good luck!

If you complete the 100% anyway I used this set in NG+
Weapon: Golden Pistol (CP reward)
Armor: Dragon Mail (CP reward)
Item 1: Dojima Family Amulet (Climax reward)
Item 2: War God Talisman (Climax reward)
Style: Only Dragon
I didn't have to use a single healing or heat item through the entire game. I used the bat setup above for the restaurant.
So what does this do? The Golden Pistol is not one hit kill but not much more (2-3) against the majority of the enemies. It makes everyone but the largest bosses fall over even if they resist guns. So you can just unload at most groups and stomp the survivor who resists. The Dragon Mail guarantees you rarely lose a noticeable amount of health. The Family Amulet makes every Dragon hit stronger which we need because the War God Talisman allows us to spam heat moves over and over (there is a healing effect for this). Sure we can Tiger Drop enemies but why not mix it up if we have infinite heat? You can Sumo Slap yourself through Legendary. It is ridiculous. The move is extremely safe to start, automatically connects and does a huge amount of damage on most enemies even after repeated use. Did I say it stops boss regneration regardless of color?
Oh, and you can punch people too.

This can only be achieved in a second playthrough. Luckily it lets you play NG+ in Legend mode unlike the previous games which required an entirely fresh new game.

The only fight that should pose any trouble is the 2nd last boss battle of the game with a certain gun wielding trio. I would recommend using Rush style (with rush amulet) and the best gun defence you have. Mash X as much as possible to avoid their attacks and try to get a few jabs in. Whittle the main boss' HP down to 1 HP first (you can't kill him yet) then take out the two gun wielding lackeys. Once they come back to life as dagger wielding lackeys, land the final blow on the main boss. Then take out the two sword wielding lackeys.

Make sure you're fully stocked with either stamina royales or toughness emperors before this fight. You'll need some left over for the final boss fight afterwards.
