How to unlock the The Dragon of Dojima Returns! achievement in Yakuza Kiwami - Definitive Guide

Goro Majima is Kiryu's greatest enemy during the course of this game. A large proportion of the achievements are earned through the Majima Everywhere system, and this guide will help you to understand the system and unlock all of them.

The Majima Everywhere system is unlocked in Chapter 2, after encountering Majima in the street at the beginning of the chapter. You will lose this fight (although you can win it by using the Marlin Cannon from Bob and chipping his life away, it gives you 100 XP Levels) and then Majima will seek to help Kiryu regain his strength as the Dragon of Dojima. After this Majima will pop up in all sorts of places to challenge Kiryu.

Firstly, understanding the system. Majima will be active after the first fight, and will start patrolling the streets. If you get close, you get a Metal Gear-esque ! pop up and Majima will chase you, unlocking the first achievement:
Yakuza KiwamiKiryu-chan!YhannosThe Kiryu-chan! achievement in Yakuza Kiwami worth 19 pointsGot chased by Majima.

Majima will fight you in his Thug style to start, which consists of quick jabs and kicks, which can be blocked rather easily. Dispatch him to start filling the meter. You start at Rank G, and you will end the game at Rank SSS. You can only fill up to a specific point in certain chapters. After filling the bar, you will get an e-mail from Nishida, Majima's associate, stating the boss has gone missing. You will then get a pop-up stating that you will need to progress the story. The thresholds are:

Chapter 2 - Filling Rank G
Chapter 4 - Filling Rank C
Chapter 8 - Filling Rank B

Once you reach Chapter 10 you can finish the entire subplot.

Filling Rank G will trigger a call from Nishida, asking you to meet Majima in front of Millennium Tower. Head there to fight Officer Majima in Slugger style. This style sees Majima wielding a bat, with his attacks consisting of wide ranging swipes and slashes. Beating him will unlock:

To unlock all of the abilities, you will have to fulfil objectives after reaching each Rank. You cannot complete an email objective if Majima is not active currently. After reaching Rank F you must defeat Majima three times, then you will get an email from Nishida inviting Kiryu to Club Shine. Head there to be paired with the hostess "Goromi". Respond with the following "I know the feeling.", "Want me to fight you?", then extend the session, "I'd rather be a hostess.", "Sounds good."

This will unlock:

Next, filling up Rank F will prompt a call from Nishida telling you Majima is setting up "in plain sight". Head to Nakamichi St, near Smile Burger, to see a giant shaking cone. Inspection of the cone will reveal Majima. Defeat him to reach Rank E. This will unlock the "Hidden Majima" feature, where Majima will sometimes be hiding in a shaking car, cone or manhole. Sometimes these shaking objects will only have an item.

You will also have acquired the Majima Sensor ability, which is a big help. This lets you know when Majima is near with a metallic-sounding "Kiryu-san!". You will be able to see his location on the map, marked by a purple arrow, if he is patrolling. If he isn't on the map, then he is likely hidden. The sensor only activates if Kiryu is calm (heat bar isn't on fire).

Defeat Slugger Majima while patrolling (he will have a yellow aura and be holding a bat). If you need to find a specific Majima setup, go in and out of a nearby building to refresh him. You will then get an email again. This time head to Mach Bowl and engage Majima in bowling. Defeat him.

Filling Rank E will trigger a call inviting Kiryu over to club Asia. Head there to face Majima in Breaker style (red aura when patrolling). This is a quicker style involving dance moves. The best strategy against him is just to step back whenever he starts spinning, wait for his move to end and then counter.

For Rank D, defeat Breaker Majima while patrolling to receive an email about Pocket Circuit. Go to the Pocket Circuit stadium to race Majima. Use the following setup: Slim Plus Tires, Speed Plus Frame, Speed Plus Motor, Balanced Plus Gears, Regular Battery. Beat him to receive another ability.

Filling Rank D will have Nishida inform Kiryu of a zombie outbreak. Of course. Fight Zombie Majima, then some lesser zombies, then Majima again to finish this one and receive:
Yakuza KiwamiSecret AchievementYhannosThe Secret Achievement achievement in Yakuza Kiwami worth 26 pointsContinue playing to unlock this secret achievement

For Rank C, defeat Officer Majima while patrolling to receive an email about MesuKing. Head to the Nakamichi St Arcade and talk to the Professor to trigger a battle against Majima. Pick Rock every time and you should win easily.

Now filling Rank C will have Nishida invite Kiryu to the Batting Centre. Head there, play a round, then fight Slugger Majima to rank up and unlock:
Yakuza KiwamiIt's Not Over Yet!YhannosThe It's Not Over Yet! achievement in Yakuza Kiwami worth 28 pointsReached Rank B in Majima Everywhere.

For Rank B, defeat Zombie Majima while patrolling to receive another email about Pocket Circuit. You will have to defeat Majima a second time at the track before this one pops up. For the second race, use the following setup (you will need to be deep into Pocket Circuit to have these parts): Ultra Spiked Tires, Ultra Metal Frame, Ultra Godspeed Motor, Ultra Boost Gears, High Capacity Battery and Heavy Suspension. After beating the second race, you should then receive the email. Go back and beat him again with the same setup, but change the battery to Regular and equip the Bumper Plate. Win to receive another ability.

Filling Rank B will see Kiryu receive an invite to Club Debolah. Head there to fight Everyone's Idol Goro, which is Breaker style Majima in a classic disco outfit.

Now is a good time to pick up two other achievements. Enter and exit the Tenkaichi St Poppo until you get the "Kiryu-chan!" alert, then walk south down the street to be ambushed from a manhole. Finish the fight to unlock:

Then enter and exit the Mahjong Parlour, then walk halfway up Pink Street to trigger another attack and unlock:

Now, the next branch in the ability tree is for completing all of Komaki's training, which you can start in Chapter 6. You will need to fight in the Coliseum, and get enough points to earn all of the "Image of a [animal]" items from the Coliseum shop. For the training that requires the "Image of a Snake", you must have Majima active in order to complete that training. Completing all of the training will unlock:
Yakuza KiwamiKomaki Style MasterYhannosThe Komaki Style Master achievement in Yakuza Kiwami worth 39 pointsCompleted all training for Komaki Style.

For Rank A, the email will trigger Majima's final state, where he interrupts a fight to have a battle. These trigger in specific locations, where there will be a goon wandering the street. Going near him will trigger some dialogue, then in the fight Majima will show up. Here are the locations where goons will trigger a battle:

You have to be interrupted by Mad Dog style in order to complete the email.

Fill up Rank A, then take a Taxi anywhere in order to fight Mad Dog style (purple aura while patrolling). This style sees Majima wielding a knife. Use Tiger Drop against him to destroy him quickly.

After reaching Rank S, you will need to defeat Everyone's Idol Goro twice, then you can face Majima in the second MesuKing battle. He will switch up his picks this time, so just alternate and hope you come out on top.

For the rank-up battle, head to West Park to face Mad Dog Majima yet again.

For Rank SS, defeat Thug Majima twice, then you can head to the Coliseum for the email objective. Choose either Breakout GP or Maximum GP, and if you don't see Hannya-Man as your first opponent, keep backing out until you do. After defeating him and finishing the tournament you will complete the email.

For the rank-up battle, head into Purgatory and fight Hannya-Man again.

All you have to do now is fight Majima another four times. Once you have done that and are sitting at 47 out of 48 Dragon abilities unlocked, Majima himself will call you and invite you to the Batting Centre. Head there and beat him down one final time to finally finish this achievement off. Congratulations!

FYI: The call for the last Majima fight takes a while to show up. Don’t panic if you don’t get it immediately or shortly after your 47th Dragon ability.

It's important to note that the e-mail objectives are independent of rank, beyond your 1st encounter to add certain personas to the list of possible encounters. I was SSS for a while and still missing a couple because I didn't encounter Idol or Zombie out in the wild. Thanks RNG!

edit: I spent over 10 hours fighting Majima to try and get another email when what I had to do was... walk a little bit into pocket circuit stadium. F.

I can't seem to get Officer Majima and Breaker Majima to spawn on patrol anymore in Chapter 11, and I need him to spawn so I can do the three Pocket Circuit races and the MesuKing battle.

For every fight with Majima on the streets of Kamurocho, your rank will improve.
You can check what rank you are currently at in the Completion List tab.
Best fished with the Majima Sensor ability (Unlocked at Rank E). With it, you will hear Goro scream every time he is nearby, and he will also appear on the map.

You need to level up the entire Dragon of Dojima style branch. This is done not only by fighting Goro, but also by training with Komaki.

To unlock some abilities, you need to defeat Majima in a certain mini-game.
The video contains a description of what needs to be done to open each of them.
Video guide (en).
It turned out that when new ones stopped opening, I had to:
1) Approach the professor 2 times and start a conversation to trigger Majima and defeat him in Mesuking
2) then you had to win it 3 times in Pocket Circuit, sometimes it’s at the entrance, and sometimes you need to go a little deeper.
3) And to open the last ability, you had to defeat Majima in the Batting center, he will appear there after the bell (you need to run for a while).

here is an excellent guide with a detailed description of calls from Majima and SMS, where and how to find him. There is also a very good description of almost all aspects of the game!!! https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/18...rywhere-system I will describe a couple of things that unfortunately are not described in this guide myself. If you don’t know how to open the Dragon’s Slow Burn 1 skill, then you will need to come to the bowling alley, and enter and leave until 2 people who look like bikers appear. If you stand with your back to the entrance, then on the left of the building one stands against the wall, the second passes near it. You need to approach the person walking, he will speak and then Majima will enter the battle in the guise of Mad Dog, after the battle you will receive a medal and a skill. Also, if you have problems with the trophy where Majima should enter the battle, you need to go in and out to the Poppo store at the intersection of Tenkaichi Street and Tenkaichi Alley. When leaving it, run to the center of the intersection. Enter and exit about 7 times and a thin Chinese man will appear, he always appears in the center and goes towards Tenkaichi Alley, he is not like the others who attack you on the streets. You have to crash into it for the meeting to take place. He will talk to you, after which a fight will begin, then Majima will enter the battle. And repeat this for as long as you have left to complete the trophy.

In order to unlock this trophy, you need to unlock all upgrades for your fourth style. To do this, it’s not enough to just hit Majima-chan every time you see him on the map, you’ll also need:

1) Defeat Mad Dog in racing, bowling and Mesuking . The last two did not cause any problems, but for the first one we had to work hard at the last race and adjust the optimal configuration of the car with a balance of high speed and cornering ability;
2) Defeat Majima several times in certain costumes . A particular ignition was the requirement to defeat Everyone's Idol Goro 2 times, since he rarely spawns. I advise you to enter and exit the buildings near Theater Square, because it usually appears in the northwestern part of Kamurocho (I personally just entered and exited Smile Burger 40 times) and sooner or later the Goro idol will deign to appear;
3) Go through the entire training line with Komaki , who hangs out at the fountain in Purgatory. Each new stage of training requires a new picture, purchased for victory points in the Colosseum, so to save time, I recommend that you first simply go through all the tournaments and buy all the pictures. Besides the obvious trophy reward, Komaki will teach Kiryu, IMHO, the best fighting skills in the game, which will make your progress much easier
