How to unlock the A New Hero achievement in Yakuza: Like a Dragon - Definitive Guide

300 points are required.

The three highest rewarding support quests add up to 70 points (Please Find My Cat [30 points], Please Find My Cat 2 [10 points], Kappture the Kappa [30 points]). They're all available from the start of Part-Time Hero, though Please Find My Cat has to be activated and two of the kappa statues are locked until reaching chapters 6 and 7.

Alternately, the Missing and Shit Out Of Luck tasks award 43 and 15 points in total, with Missing just requiring tracking down 5 people and Shit Out Of Luck requiring delivering 21 packets of tissues, which costs 4200 eco-points.

There's also 24 SOS quests that award 97 points, but requires chapter 15 to unlock them all. They involve defeating a small group of enemies at predetermined locations.

Food delivery quests can net 65 points, but requires access to Sotenbori. All items and where to find them can be found on the walkthrough Yakuza: Like a Dragon Walkthrough

Miscellaneous item delivery quests award 51 points, but requires access to Sotenbori. There's also a bit of RNG with getting the eggs from Omelette (though saving before Omelette lays the egg can help with savescumming).

Finally, takedown quests, which require taking down certain enemies encountered in the field, award 160 points in total, but can be really finicky depending on spawns, especially after all the enemies get upgraded, or require trailing through dungeons to find guaranteed spawns. It may also require reaching the late game for certain quests to activate.

Altogether these tasks should award about 500 points in total, giving a lot of wiggle room for mixing up the tasks. I've left off prize delivery quests because the crane game is too frustrating and the early bug quests are too RNG-heavy/reliant on Can Quest to aim for

A few notes since I just got this myself. I didn't go out of my way to do ANYTHING unless there was a blue icon on the map. Other than doing some grinding on the map, I basically got to 150/300 points just by playing the game and doing the blue quest markers. Then I focused on some of the easier quests(Finding the Cats and Kappas, the Missing persons, and getting some of the easier plates, juices, bugs, etc). Glad they didn't make us 100% this, haha

I have completed this. I’m at 310 points. And it hasn’t popped the achievement. Anybody know what’s up? So frustrating.

To reach Executive Hero rank in the Part-time Hero sub-game, you must receive a total of 300 stars from various tasks in the game. The easiest of these quests to complete are SOS Rescue quests which are just a quick battle and will be marked on the map as they unlock. Delivery quests can be a bit difficult depending on the item requested, but most you'll have the items from regular exploration, and all the battle ones can be bought from the black market shops in Kamurocho. Special Delivery bathroom quests require 21 pocket tissues purchased as rewards from the Can Collector vendor (see Can Quest Hero (15G)). Missing Person locations can be found HERE. Missing Cat locations can be found HERE. Kappa Statue locations can be found HERE.

Once you complete a quest, if it doesn't reward your stars right away, be sure to report your success to one of the people at the blue helmet locations on the map, and once you reach a total of 300 stars the achievement will unlock.

Part-time hero unlocks in chapter 5 through a substory. Once you join Part-time Hero, you will gain access to missions that will increase your rank, and challenges that will increase your personality traits. Missions will award you with stars, and when you collect enough stars, your rank will increase. In order to reach Executive Hero, you will need a total of 300 stars. You will definitely have to go out of your way to reach that amount because even doing all of the toilet paper quests, cat finding quests, kappa statues quest and marked rescue missions will not be enough. You will have to do a decent amount of the reportable rescue and support quests. Therefore you will have to defeat a certain amount of enemies to complete the rescue quest then report to a Part-time hero representative and/or acquire the listed items for a support quest then turn them in to a Part-time Hero representative. I highly suggest going for the support quests because theyre less time consuming than hunting down specific enemies. Support quests have you looking for things you can easily acquire by just finding them randomly, winning them from UFO catcher, having the manager of Survive Bar make them or buying them directly from stores. One great resource to use is shockinblue's Yakuza 7 Part-time hero guide from GameFAQs: Yakuza 7 Support Quests Guide. He made a fantastic guide that lists locations for the toilet paper quests, cat finding quests, kappa statues, and even where to find the specific items for the support quests. Only 300 stars out of 500+ are needed. So you don’t have to worry too much about mouth guards and cats, for example. The main thing is to try to buy everything in stores (some items will become available only in Sotenbori and Kamuro-cho) and get toys from the machine. Well, every chapter there are a couple of rescue battles.

As you progress, I advise you to immediately complete the hero’s quests in the city, as well as buy various food in stores, while collecting cans from the buyer, immediately buy a broken TV and a microwave oven, store all the gold and silver saucers you find and do not sell them, they will also be useful for one of requests. I also advise finding all the cats - +30 stars, finding all the missing people - about +35 stars, and of course all the Kappa statues. Also collect all sorts of bugs and insects, and of course don’t miss the battle)

After increasing your rank, do not forget to visit the hero's main office to receive your reward. One of the rewards is a knife for Eri, which is needed to improve weapons in the workshop.

The trophy is either buggy, or something was changed by a patch, but I got it when I received 363 stars, although the required rank is achieved when I get 300 stars.
Don't despair if the trophy doesn't drop after 300 stars, it should drop sooner or later.
