How to unlock the Whatever it takes. achievement in Yes, Your Grace - Definitive Guide

After the summit in week 31 ask Varid to come to the castlea and tell him he can have Asalia’s hand. At the end of the week Asalia will leave with Varid and the achievement pops.

After week 31 you will automatically go to the King's Summit. Here Varid will offer you his army in exchange for Asalia's hand in marriage. Agree to this, go say goodbye to Asalia and the achievement will unlock at the end of the day.

Like CrispyCrispinUK said, you need to invite him. At any moment after he has done the request, invite him. He'll come next week. Accept. Talk to Asalia and at the end of the day a scene will play and the achievement will pop. Feel free to bo back to the titlescreen and reload the previous week to avoid the engagement if that's was you want.
