In the deepest depths of the forest lies the mountain overpass where Yui took her life in the beginning. It is here that Haru must resist the voice to uncover the true path and the true culprit. Within the shrine Mr. Kotowari opens up is a cave covered in red thread/webs, and you need to get to the end to find the Spider Demon that corrupted Yui. Like the outside, when the spider tells you to do something, do the opposite. There are four thread-like columns that are keeping it tethered to Yui and you need to sever the connection to save your friend. The challenge comes with all of the Yui corpses falling down, and the spider webbing appearing to slow you down. I'd suggest working your way to the right first, and then doubling back to get the last of the columns while hugging the far bottom of the walkway.
Each command the Spider offers you, you have to do the opposite of. This is because it's trying to psyche you out and planning to strike you with a shadow blast. After you cut the third, it'll tell you to run away so stand still. You'll see that it covers the entire area where you could've ran through in a grid of shadow blasts. With the final column severed, you'll be left facing Yui's revenant, still enraged by the spider. She'll bind you with the red string of fate and start closing in towards you while the game prompts you if you want to cut the thread. Initially say no, and you'll find that the thread itself has wrapped itself around your entire left arm. It is here that you must cut the thread now.
