How to unlock the Just the play-tonic achievement in Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair - Definitive Guide

After clearing Trowzer's first paywall, you will find Vendi waiting in a corner. She will introduce you to buying/finding Tonics. The first tonic will be free (0 quills) and will walk you through equipping it as well. Remember to remove it afterwards if you don't want a quill detraction multiplier.

After you pay the guy on the wall by the chapter 2 book, walkthrough where the wall used to be, and you should get some dialogue with a vending machine (you can read or skip, your choice). Eventually, she will open up the tonic menu for you and tell you to get and equip the tonic, thus giving you the achievement.

This is essentially unmissable. On your way from Chapter 2 to Chapter 3, you'll meet Vendi, who will show you what tonics are and how to equip them. This achievement will unlock in the process.
