How to unlock the Tonic Boom! achievement in Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair - Definitive Guide
I've found a very quick method for farming quills, and used it to get my last 7,500 quills in about 15 minutes, and so I thought I'd share. Equip the tonics: Less checkmates, googly eyes, quillsplosion, and if you have the 4th slot unlocked then add quill magnet. but it should still work without.
Load up Chapter 3 Wild Web Woods - Wilder
The moment the level starts, enemies that run at you will be infinitely and rapidly spawning in, and despite the fact that googly eyes is active, enemies spawned from the initial spawn point have no googly eyes and will die in one hit. Each enemy drops 5 or 6 quills. You can get a rhythm going whilst jumping, and it can be done pretty mindlessly without any of them getting past you. If you take a hit and lose Laylee, you can just walk over the starting checkpoint to bank the quills you've earned, and then kill yourself and carry on. Just speed through the level once you have 40% of your desired quill total to profit from the 2.5x bonus upon level completion.

Chapter 4 (Frozen version) is quicker.
Use Googly Eyes, Quill Magnet, Spotlight and Less Checkmates.
Run/roll to the right until you get to the ice pillars where you should get your first quill. Then continue the level as usual. Make sure to hit all of the red quills and once you drop down roll to the secret area to the left.
Continue running through the level unit you get to the pink quill. First stand on the left pillar, then the middle one, then the right one and back to the middle where it will explode.
Then continue the level until you get to the sliding part. Just make sure to activate the two green quills and then end the level.
Can be done within 2 minutes (loading included) and will give you ~1200 quills each run (600 per minute compared to the 500 in the solution above).
Again, ignore going to the left at the beginning, ignore the yellow quill below and continue the level as I described. Only collect the odd "royal" quills that are on the way. Don't destroy any boxes that you don't have to.

You can just go backwards into the cave tail-whip them where they drop. So no need to time the jumps :) And I would replace the magnet with spotlight that gives you +0,5 extra in bonus.

There are a total of 61 tonics that must be purchased for this achievement. As with the Tonic Mania (30G) achievement, the 'Golden Try' tonic is not required for this achievement, since it's not an overworld tonic. Refer to the Tonic Mania (30G) achievement solution for actually finding all 61 overworld tonics in the game.
Once you've found them all, it then becomes a matter of collecting enough quills in levels to afford all of the tonics. It's highly unlikely you'll be anywhere near the required amount by the time you finish everything else in the game, and you'll likely need 10,000 quills or more, give or take depending on what tonics you used while you progressed. This may seem like a massive grind, but thankfully there is a very quick and reliable method to grind out quills.
You'll first need to unlock and purchase the following tonics: 'Quillsplosion,' 'Googly Eyes,' and 'Less Checkmates.' If you don't have them, refer to Tonic Mania (30G) for locating them. The 'Quill Magnet' tonic is handy for the rest of the level, but it isn't required. You'll collect quills from killed enemies automatically. With all three (preferably four) of those tonics equipped, start up Chapter 3 in its altered state ('Chaos'). Right at the start of the level, the red enemies will run toward you from the left very quickly. For some reason, they won't have googly eyes despite having that tonic equipped, so they'll die in one hit instead of two. Each one you kill gives you 5 quills. With the above tonics equipped, you will have a 2.5x quill multiplier for the level. You could then calculate how many quills you need to purchase all tonics, divide that by 2.5, and that's how many quills to shoot for. Bounce on enemies' heads over and over to grind out quills. Once you get a good rhythm it becomes very simple and stress-free. Since you're doing it right at the start of the level, you can touch the Checkmate at any time to save how many quills you've collected. I recommend doing this at least every few hundred quills, just to be safe, or if you lose Laylee.
Once you have enough quills, hit the Checkmate once more to be safe and then speed through the level. Ignoring quills and coins makes this level very short. The quills you collect don't add to your total until you complete the level, so bear that in mind. Once you have enough quills and purchase all the tonics, this achievement will unlock.

You need to buy all the Tonics.
The total price is quite impressive.
Having gone through each dungeon twice, I still couldn’t collect that much in parallel with collecting coins. ( I was missing 15,000, the maximum I collected for a dungeon with cheats was 1500-1700)
There are some good cheats to help:
Less Checkmates - 3 times less checkmates in the dungeon. Increases the prize by 2 times. Take the level at which you feel calm and move forward.
Googly eyes - enemies die in two hits instead of one. Increases the prize by 1/2 times. Run past the monsters and that's it
Spotlight - the entire level becomes dark (not all areas look the same, it is better to choose those with a floor) only you and the feathers are highlighted. Increases the prize by 1/2 times.
The level that seemed to me the most calm and profitable
Charter 12: Buzzsaw Falls (700+ with Quill Magnet (attracts feathers to Hurray, does not cut the prize) without plus cheats)
——-
I don’t recommend other cheats with plus rewards, the reward is small - but the cheat gives a lot of difficulty

In my opinion, the best level for farming is the very first level. I took two neutral tonics (Feather Magnet, feathers fall out when killing an enemy) and two negative ones that give a multiplier (fewer checkpoints and two hits to enemies). On average I gained 1600-1700 feathers per level. And there is also a place where mobs endlessly appear next to the descending bridge, they fall on the saw under the bridge and give one feather each. One feather is given in 2 seconds. That's 30 feathers per minute. You can stop there and go about your business, go eat there or sit on the push or something else while you gain feathers.
