How to unlock the Number One achievement in Yu-Gi-Oh Millennium Duels - Definitive Guide

This works for all the single player campaign.

Use Burn effect cards you can search for them by searching for cards that decrease LP.
The AI rarely uses many trap cards to counter burn cards.
The AI always attacks Zoma the spirit if you activate it right after they attack one of your monsters.

A few decks this wont work well against such as Evilswarm. The first few decks you face in expert mode are the hardest to beat. Also alot of yu-gi-oh players hate burn deck so some might rage quit if your using one online.

The deck I used in this video is

Monsters

Des Koala x3
Ebon Magician Curran x3
Fire Trooper x2
Gorz the Emissary of Darkness x1
Lava Golem x2
Mecha Bunny x2
Reflect Bounder x2
Solar Flare Dragon x3
Caius the Shadow Monarch x3
Stealth Bird x2
Toon Cannon Soldier x3 (Regular Cannon Soldier can be used to and has same effect)
Volcanic Slicer x2

Spell Cards

Black Pendent x1
Chain Strike x2
Dark Room of Nightmare x3
Ookazi x3
Thunder Shot x1
Wave Motion Cannon x3

Trap Cards

Ceasefire x1
Cemetery Bomb x2
Dimension Wall x1
Just Deserts x3
Magical Cylinder x3
Nightmare Wheel x3 (Use this on Lava Golem once you get it it out on other players field. XYZ's can still use their detach effect when hit with this card)
Secret Barrel x3
Zoma the Spirit x2
Ojama Trio x1 (Use this to clog the field to do big damage then use other spell and trap cards)

Other cards that work in Burn decks alot of these only work with certain monster types.

Blizzard Falcon
Blast Sphere
Fencing Fire Ferret
Tremendous Fire
Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch
Stamping Destruction
Spiritual Fire Art Kurenai
Spell Shattering Arrow
Solar Ray
Poseidon Wrath
Ominous Fortunetelling
King Pyron
Fairy Archer
Darkworld Shackles
Dark Snake Syndrome (This can kill you both players of quick so is risky)
D.D Dynamite
Creepy Coney

Watch out for Prime Material Dragon since its effect reverses all Burn effect to heal the Opponent instead the card has trap protection for alot of well used cards like Mirror Force as well.

Great guide! I was able to use a majority of these cards to make a burn deck. Burn or a six samurai deck have worked well.

I am stuck on Vector on expert. His cards that let's him ignore traps allows him to get a big advantage. Any tips for Vector?

Vector is a pain to beat and is one of the only opponents that can stop burn decks good in the game. Id use cards such as Mystical Space Typhoon, attack boosting equips like mage power/United we stand/axe of despair if you equip them to a monster with 2000+ attack you should win more easily since he best monster only has 2550 attack.

Only way outside microtransactions to get cards is playing single player matches you get none for online matches like in the previous game on 360. Just keep facing against the first opponent in normal mode until you win the cards you want. This could take ages though because the cards you win is completely random no matter what opponent you are facing.

Best deck to buy? Don't mind paying for one if it's consistent enough to get me through the game. Much better than grinding!

Vector was annoying but if you get his opening XYZ off the board and lock him down using traps like Royal Decree and Anti Spell Fragrence you can easily push over him took me 3 tries to beat him using a slightly modified Firefist buy deck

I did end up beating vector with nurse burn, but could not have done it without Ojama trio. I got overrun every single time until I just let him XYZ and then as soon as he summoned another monster, I would just flip trio and then stall until I burned him down. I hadn’t even lost a best 2 out of 3 until vector.

I have used one deck to complete all the expert duels.
An Inferno Tempest deck which is linked below will be able to beat every duel even on expert mode.

This deck is a fast pace LifePoint/Deckout Deck.

Additionally this deck will give you maximum points which will unlock more cards per duel and maximise LP damage which will work towards your 'one better' achievement.

http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Yu-Gi-Oh!_5D%27s_Decade...

SW this should help it entails most of the DLC packs excluding a couple new ones if your looking to buy a deck Do yourself a favor and go with the Fire Fist deck learn how to play it and you can beat everyone in the offline game, The toughest opponent is Vector in Expert mode with his Dark Swarm deck, the Fire Fist deck matches the best IMO Exodia Stall and Deck out stall decks work well to.

X Wolf to answer your ? over 6,000 Cards there most cards that have been made to date are in the game

No offense, but the only way to get this Deck is to play single player extremely much or to mod your save and get all cards... I'm sure 9/10 people have no use for this solution as they don't have the deck.

Maybe it's better to edit your solution and say what type of decks works best, which basic cards are useful and if you wish to spend money - which decks to buy from the Marketplace.

Never the less, Its better to have one than none at all as a lot of people don't know much about decks etc.

You are right though, that would be a nice solution and I completely get where your coming from. I will work on doing something along those lines!

I would rather have something than nothing at all and Sera if you wish to spend money buy the Brotherhood of Fire fist deck it is a deck that can beat every person on hard mode. It was the deck I ran with towards the end when I had to get past the Dark Swarm deck.

A solution from a guy who probably broke TA rules and modded his game save. How useful.

Good guide mate, I have a question, just want to know 3 simple things
1.- How many cards (in total) are in this game, also in 5d's
2.- The old one's like the fire deck, quimeras, impashi, solar flare dragons, etc.
can I find them her? ( in millenium duel's)
3.- And the last one, it's the tyrant dragon and his fusion on this version ?

I have to agree with Cawood that for the most part, that the burn strategy is the best way to go if you can gather the necessary cards to do so. However, unless you have played through 5ds and uploaded cards you won from that game, the cards you win through Single Mode aren't always the best.

The Expert Mode will throw all of the toughest decks at you. Good traps like S. Armor and Magic Cylinder are a must along with 1-2 copies of the Swords of Revealing Light.

If you are having trouble, be patient and keep note of that deck's particular strategy and how to counter it. For example, when facing Marik in a Match mode, as long as you shut down his Jam Breeding Machine card you will win.

Other people I had the most trouble...

Solomon (Exodia deck): A very good deck that even the best decks can't overcome if it's set up correctly.

Zone (Final Countdown deck): Puts pressure on you, but the burn cards can get him pretty quickly.

Dr. Faker (Dark World deck): Get Shadow Imprisoning Mirror if you want to stand a better chance here.

Vector (Evilswarm deck): Ugh...this bastard is tough because he can counter just about every strategy you throw at him.

Again, patience is the key, and I'll admit I needed to purchase the Fire Fist deck in order to beat Vector and finish the Mode. If you're a good Yu-Gi-Oh player, you will eventually get this!

Royal Magic Library x3
Blue Eyes Toon Dragon x1

Spells (25)
