Syphon is the special ability of Argo, unlocked from the start of the game.
His ability drags items towards you from quite a distance away. From my experience I didn't not need to pick up/absorb the items, just having 20 come at me at once was enough.
This isn't very difficult to achieve, going into any room that spawns a lot of enemies, or taking perks that raise the number of drops will make this easy. The hardest part is trying to gauge that you have 20 before they start disappearing.
I managed this in one of my first challenge rooms, where enemies spawned in pairs. I sat in a corner, shot anything that got close, and as soon as the first item was vanishing used my ability.
