How to unlock the Crossbow Kill achievement in ZOMBI - Definitive Guide

Killing a zombie with the crossbow is the easy part! You have the find the crossbow first.

There's a mission in Buckingham Palace where you have to get a book named "De Rimedi Secreti" - when you see the book, you are close to the crossbow. See my video below.

The video below (not mine, mine was deleted) is where the book would be in the office and when you take it, it makes a secret entrance open. Go through the newly opened crawl space.

When I got this cheev, I went down the ladder, it's there where the crossbow can be found. Now go find a zombie that has NO HELMET and it's a one-shot kill to the head.

thanks +1. just a side note, you CAN zoom in with the crossbow by using LT + up on the d-pad.

In Buckingham Palace, the doctor will send you on a search for "De Remedi Secreti". Once you reach the book's location and pick it up, a secret entrance will be revealed. Once you enter this secret entrance, go right and into a separate room, watching out for a zombie, to obtain the XL BOB and the following achievement.

Go left to reach a ladder going down to a narrow walkway with the crossbow. It will have one bolt left. You'll find more later on in the story if you miss with this bolt. The Crossbow can kill any zombie without a helmet with one shot to the head. Carefully kill the next helmet less zombie you come across with a well aimed headshot to unlock the following achievement:

Crossbow Kill

Sneaky did a great job showing were the crossbow kills is but I messed up going for the achievement, if you hit the zombie anywhere else you can kill them to get the arrow back. If you entirely miss you lose the arrow. If this happens quickly quit the game by hitting cn_guide, cn_start, then quit.

Re-load the game back and you can make attempt #2, make sure you do this near a save and not after 50 zombie kills.

You will acquire the Hunting Crossbow whilst in the Buckingham Palace level. When you meet the Doc in the labs he will send you to the Library in search of the "De Rimedi Secreti". Once you have acquired this as part of the mission you will enter through a secret passage in the bookcase and drop down a ladder. The Hunting Crossbow is located on the ground in front of you. Press  to switch weapons and equip it. You will need Crossbow bolts to use this weapon. You will want to aim for the head with this weapon as it isn't very powerful. Alternatively you can weaken an enemy with a different weapon before finishing them with the Crossbow. Once you get your first kill with this weapon the trophy will unlock.
