How to unlock the Hail to the king, baby! achievement in Zombie Army 4: Dead War - Definitive Guide

There is a lot of faster way to grind rank 100 in no time (ca 3-4 times faster as run mission 1 again and again and again - I need only 2.5minutes for the last rank update from 99 to 100)

Start level 1-2 (Dead Ahead - Locomotive Lockdown) on easy with 4 players enemy setup. Gear / Perks doesn't matter. We want to farm the mission challenge via checkpoint reloading. Pick up 4 Frag grenades, a medi-pack and start the mission. Our goal is to reach 70-74 of 75 explosive kills for the challenge before we open the blood sealed door shortly after the beginning and get a checkpoint there.

Play the mission normal and try to get with explosives and 3 of your 4 grenades 70-74/75 challenge kills. Save atleast 1 grenade and your Sniper Rifle Overkill Ability. We need both later. After you reach the blood sealed door kill so many enemies until the door is open but try to stand in a good direction to the last 10-20 enemies for a good checkpoint (less farming time!) If you activate the checkpoint, throw your grenade
at the remaining zombies and reload the checkpoint after the challenge is done.

For faster farming use your Sniper Rifle Overkill ability on the grenade so that the grenade explode earlier. You should easily reach 9-10 seconds aka 1000 Xp per run with this strategy.

There are a few really good ways to boost XP without having to play 12 waves of horde over and over.

Please equip your 3 Combo Perks found in the Other Tab and try to get the Combo Boost to Gold which will start you with a 5x combo. (Combo King, Combo Extension, and Combo Boost).

**Still Works Post Patch**
Campaign Method - Mission 1, Chapter 1 - 4 Player Settings - We are looking for the Gold Medal here which is a 40 kill/combo or 16500 points. You can run right by the first group of zombies in the street, and just shoot the explosive barrels and zombies under the Radio Tower to get the 20 dismemberment challenge for an additional 1000xp. I highly recommend using the Mosin Nagant with explosive damage for this to make the challenge easier. You'll get 5,000XP for the Gold Medal plus 1000xp for the mission challenge every 4 minutes, Rinse and repeat.

**Patched - Works with Disc Copies Only**
Horde Method 1 - Into the Darkness, 4 Player Settings - Wave 1 - We are looking for only a Bronze Medal here, which is about 6,000 Score. Run to the equipment boxes and grab the Nades/Mines and kill everything that is coming over the wall with them. You should have between 9 and 12 thousand points by the end of the wave. Wave 2, either down yourself or let zombies kill you. This method is about 3000XP and 1 Wave per 2 minutes. Hit Y to Restart, Rinse and repeat.

**PATCHED 2/15/20** - The Bitter End - Hard Difficulty - Wave 1 - First of all be sure your Second Chance Perk is off. As soon as you spawn, look for the red explosive containers and blow yourself up by shooting them while standing close. Hit Y to Restart, Rinse and repeat. This is 3,000xp per minute but gives no progress to horde waves. **This has been patched 2/15/20.**

The Maka91 method does not work effectively. I get 3000XP every minute and raise the level but only in the summary of the horde mission. I raised the level to 100 but in the game menu I still have 70. And when I turn on the horde after each finished wave I have these 100.

Yep, restarted game a few time. This same happens to my friend. You can see in slow motion how all earned levels are counted on the end of horde mission from 70 up to 102. However in main menu i still have 70lvl.

@borewicz79, all you need to do was to go do mission of the game or complete a few waves of horde for them to all count up properly. The method was fine, but has now been patched.

If you have the physical copy of the game, uninstall, go offline, reinstall stay offline and get to lvl 100. I’m doing this as I’m lvl 76 and don’t have much more lvls to boost up 👍

I’m confused? I’m doing the campaign method but for some reason I never could get the gold, I always end up getting silver. I reach my combo to 30 or 31 but I still can’t get gold. And also the mission challenge is different for me. It says to “dismember” 20 enemies.

By ol ALEXKING lo on 19 Feb 2020 08:38
Alex, shoot the barrels to explode the guys while keeping your combo. Try increasing the combo to around 35 to 40 then, I do in fact know there's enough enemies in that last section to hit a 50 combo.

The game is frustrting and annoying buggy how it handles the xp after missions. At least 50% of the time your level is not showing correct although it shows the correct level after a mission but you end up with a lower level (already was -2 and again level 99)

I am going to try uninstalling the patches and doing that way. Currently level 65 so going to back up save to usb. Then delete the game. Disconnect from live and install game from disc. Then play to 100 using the horde kill yourself method. Has anyone else done this recently and can confirm it will work on an unpatched disc version?

^^ It worked for me. I uninstalled the game, re-install the game (offline) and did the trick (on the other solution) to level 56 to 100 on the first wave over and over. Once I reach lvl 100, I quit and I was still Level 56 (but don't panic, its just a bug) I comeback Online, re-install the update. After that, I launch the game and did again Wave 1 in horde and once wave 2 was about to start, bam achievement unlocked.

Ok i did the uninstall everyting for this game part for the disc version (V1.0.0.2). Did some horde restarting at on Wave 1. I got from 73 to 77 or so and then quit to menu by mistake. Then tried again and went to 74 or 75 multiple times. Went online and installed latest update. After clearing 1 wave i am still at lvl 75. Also clearing 1 mission does not get me the extra progress.

Or this has been patched or you need to get to lvl 100 in 1 go for the achievement to trigger.

You need to get to level 100 offline then go back online and the achievement will pop. Typically people do this in 1 long go, if that's not possible for you then I suggest doing the Mission 1 chapter 2 challenge/checkpoint exploit.

Okay so first things first, if you’re doing the campaign method you should have the combo boost perk to level 3 which is gold. It starts you off with a x5 multiplier. I tried using the level 1 and 2 combo boost but I could never hit gold. Anyways once you get to the radio tower, immediately start shooting the red barrels/pallets, don’t bother on shooting the zombies off of the radio tower until you complete the challenge. I noticed that if you shoot the zombies off the radio tower first, you waste too much time and the zombies under the radio tower start to scatter around making it hard to obtain gold and complete the challenge. Just be fast at that part and you’ll be fine, it took me a few tries but eventually you’ll get the hang of it.

There's an even better horde mode boosting method on the final horde map. You just need to explode yourself and die right away. Doing so will give you 3,000 XP and then you rinse and repeat. It's 3x faster than the other method, the only downside of it is that you never complete any waves towards the 144 you need.

The campaign method is best for this, thanks to XBox Assassin83 for providing it. below are the steps i took to maximise XP and save some time. Its useful to have the explosive bullets for the Mosin if you have them. I was getting a rank for every 3 times i done this. Shouldn't take more than 5 mins each time.

1. Run down to the bottom, ignoring the zombies and when you get to the bottom, quickly use your special melee on the group of the 4 or 5 zombies before climbing over, this should get you 1000XP or so (this may come in handy)

2. When you get to the sniping point, very quickly assess where the large gathering of zombies are and shoot the explosives. You should get the 20 dismemberment bonus points but if not then take out as many as you can with the explosive rounds but do not lose your combo count!

3. Once you get to combo count x36, take out the 4 zombies on the radio tower. This will get you the 40x combo bonus points.

4. Once you are over score 16,000, head down to the safe room. If not then take out more zombies until you reach that amount as that is the required amount for the gold medal.

5. Repeat, repeat, repeat and should hopefully have it done in no time.

Offline method: (Works with Disc Copies without update!)
- Into the Darkness, 1,2,3,4 Players or more Settings, it's up to you - Wave 1
- Kill just one zombie (very easy ^^), after that just die, even in the first wave. 5000 xp for each attempt. Press Y to retry.
- After Lvl 100, go online, update the game and win the bronze medal on Into the Darkness map, achievement will be yours.
Very fast method, 5000 XP every minute or less. Aller Paris. Yo.

Here is my trophy guide

INTRO

This is built on the guide provided by ObesityandLag. In following their guide, I discovered this method, which would save time and/or provide an alternate spot to grind. This method requires the Shotgun Mortar! It may be possible to do it without it, but will be more difficult.

BUILD

1. Weapons: Shotgun Mortar. Choose any for rifle and pistol.

2. Perks (Gold Tier preferred): Bombardier, Trapper & Shotgun Ammo Pouch

3. Item Mods: Frag Grenade, Mod A

GUIDE

Play Mission 1 (Dead Ahead), Chapter 2. Set difficulty to easy and 4-players. Proceed with blowing up zombies. Keep track of how many count towards the bonus by pausing and looking at the tracker. This is important so you don't accidently go over when blowing up large groups. Get as close to 74 explosive kills as quickly as possible (no less than 72). When the area is clearing out, head back towards the safe house area and wait for the checkpoint to trigger. Try your best to stay close to the amount of zombies you need to kill to earn the bonus. Reload save, get the remaining explosive kills to earn bonus. Reload, rinse and repeat.

CREDIT

This guide is inspired by ObesityandLag - all credit to them for finding this method.

Reaching Rank 100 is a huge grind. For example, after having completed the Campaign and all horde mode trophies level 68 was the highest I got. So that leaves a good 30 levels of grinding to do.

XP in the game is only earned through completion and not kills. So in order to grind XP you have to complete chapters and/or waves in Horde mode. XP is given as follows for the campaign:

  • Bronze 2500xp
  • Silver 3500xp
  • Gold 5000xp

The fastest current farming method (latest patch) is to load up Chapter 1 of Mission 1. Run past the first area of zombies until you get to the base. In the next area you'll need to shoot 4 zombies off the tower. Do that only and then run to the safe house. You'll get 2500xp for 2 minutes of work.

Up to rank 100 (aka 1st prestige) 1 lam of experience.

I'll add to the tip above. If you complete the test and score 16,000 points for a gold medal, then you can get 6k experience from the level. For this scheme, I advise you to place zombies on 4 players, shoot the first skirmish with a shotgun, and at the second meeting with zombies you need to blow up the barrels.

Task 1, chapter 1, difficult, BUT! We kill all the homeless people at the beginning (about 4,000 points). Then we run to the radio tower and score up to 16,000 points (we blow up everything and everyone). We get gold for the chapter and 5,000 experience. It took me 3 minutes 20 seconds. And keep the combo going.

Task 1, chapter 1. If you use this scheme. It is advisable to upgrade your shotgun in the “damage” branch. I had “damage modification 3” and on the first enemies I dismembered a maximum of 4/20. Replaced it in this thread with “heavy bullet” And the first time it became 12/20. She simply tears apart her enemies. In the second stage, it became easier to complete the test.

It's very easy to download the level
the game has challenges at every level
So they can be completed endlessly and, most importantly, after completing them, experience is credited immediately, there is no need to press the end of the chapter
Thus, find yourself a simple challenge - complete it and restart from the last checkpoint
for example, I took the challenge from mission 1 - chapter 2 - you need to blow up 75 zombies with grenades
so we start the chapter - we put zombies at 4 people - the level is easy - there are plenty of grenades. We start the train, we blow up 65-70 zombies with grenades, we shoot the rest - after clearing the platform, a checkpoint is triggered, we go further into the carriage - we jump onto the second one - we shoot one zombie that is trying to get to us and throw a grenade into the crowd - bang - challenge passed - 1000 experience - restart the checkpoint and so on ad infinitum - about 10 seconds for 1000 experience

And so, after three playthroughs of the company, namely the first time on average for fun and collecting all the items, the second on difficult, the third with four people. And also after collecting all the other trophies, I had 600,000 thousand experience, and as we remember, for rank 100 you need 1,000,000 experience. So, in order to raise 400 to experience, I farmed on the 1st task in the 1st chapter, namely, discard all the cutscenes, after we run without being distracted by the homeless, we run to the radio tower, shoot 4 homeless people and use a nimble elk to the bunker, there we get 2500 experience. If everything is done quickly and correctly with all the loads, etc., one lap takes 2 minutes 30 seconds on average. For comparison, for completing other chapters we get 3500, but in time it’s 5 times more. Well, ps maybe I’m wrong and there is a better way, look for it and experiment.

I decided to simplify the @princesod method
Task - 1.Bloody Deadlock / Chapter 2 - Trains are canceled
It is advisable to take the "Bombardier" perk
At the very beginning, we take 4 grenades and walk until the train crashes (There are also boxes with grenades at the location).
Your task is to blow up 74 of the 75 zombies in the test to the checkpoint, after which there will definitely be a couple of walkers left there. I succeeded 7 times, the zombie was next to me, I only had to throw a grenade under myself, a sign of a completed test appeared and loaded from the checkpoint.
As a result, in 8 seconds we get 1000 experience per test, I leveled up from lvl 68 to lvl 100 in about 40 minutes.

Task 1, Chapter 2, immediately after loading the level, click it’s also options, and click on the test on the Chapter - kill 75 enemies with explosives. The challenge now hangs in the back left corner. Next, we approach the workbench and remove all explosion mods, but you can leave one weapon for explosion, if you have one. But one way or another, the author of the original has a donated grenade launcher, this is not necessary, so we run through the boxes and pick up fragmentation grenades. Next, we start the mission by going out the gate, here we need to kill as many zombies as we can with explosions, but under no circumstances can we completely complete the tests. After the attack is repulsed, we take another grenade and go to the carriage, along the way there will also be boxes with grenades and bolts. Your task is to reach the door with the seal and leave the test counter so that you need to blow up 1 or 2 zombies. Next, we stand at the door and shoot back to the checkpoint. You can understand that the checkpoint has been passed by the icon in the upper right corner. Then we throw a grenade into the crowd or at those who are left with you. After completing the test , we load from the last checkpoint - this is important, not from the shelter. And again we throw a grenade at the zombies. The bottom line is that for completing the test you get 1000 experience points, this is counted in the statistics. In general, up to level 75, it takes about a little more than two minutes to get one level, after that you need more experience, and it will take about three minutes per level. And in this simple way, in half an hour, you can take 10 levels. You can go to the main menu and close the game. Everything remains as it was. But it's done solo.
