How to unlock the None more hard achievement in Zombie Army 4: Dead War - Definitive Guide

Update 28SEP2021:
It appears the game was updated and it will auto pop the achievement in the main menu if you had completed it but had glitched progress for this run, according to a couple of users who still had problems.

This achievement is for the base game missions only and can be done on Easy difficulty as long as Nightmare mode is selected. Also, much like the difficulty achievement for the campaign, I can confirm this can be unlocked by completing the last chapter of each mission as I did it like that solo. Nikoyroslav and another player mentioned they have gotten this coop doing this method, but it may be finicky. I know the difficulty achievement (for hard) had some issues with the achievement popping in coop when only doing the last chapter and the same may be true here since someone in the comments mentions it worked for them while another said it didn’t.

This achievement is bugged for many people and Gonzo points out in the comments that he managed to get it after deleting his save and redoing.

As far as strategy goes, recommend the following, in general:

-level up and get perks ranked up before attempting this as there are a TON of enemies and heavies. Specifics are up to you but for perks I used pouches, weapon focus expert, enhanced vigor, and second chance (all gold).

-learning to train is your friend. Train the enemies, take your time on objectives, and focus first on any ranged enemies. Gunners and flamers will damage you while training, as will snipers, so try to eliminate those first while training.

-Use checkpoints wisely. If you lose your downs from second chance and are in bad shape, reload checkpoint so each checkpoint you still have some resources to get you to the end.

- I used takedown frequently for armored enemies and to heal often. I also used divine blast for melee so I can could stun and heal as well. Make sure you are using these frequently as soon as the cool down is up so that you can stay healthy.

-Since the last mission is only 1 chapter, this mission can be done coop with no issues.

@ultralisk12 I used the Mosin-Nagant, MP44, and M1911 mainly because I mastered those. I would highly recommend the MP44, but the other weapons might have better alternatives depending on what your preference and/or upgrade situation is. I didn’t do any research for these, so don’t put a lot of stock into these picks. It is just what I chose based on preference.

J'ai fait la campagne en co-op avec quelqu'un, moi je n'est pas eu le succès mais lui la eu. La je suis en train de la refaire en co-op en tant que hébergeur, il me reste les 2 dernière missions, je vous dirait si ça a fonctionné ou pas.

This shit is fucking stupid. The last Act where you have to destroy 9 damn turrets while avoiding 1000000 enemies is just bad game design. Rebellion went way fuckin overboard with this garbage.

Yup, most of it was easy except Mission 4 and Hell Machine/Hitler Fight. When playing in Coop, having 1 with takedown frequency and 1 with Heavy Weapons Capacity is perfect. MP44 is the best weapon for Nightmare for sure...

^ just got it done and that's the setup I used. Best advice for the final act I can give is to use your takedowns on the Officers/Generals, they are the single biggest threat in the penultimate battle. If you let them stay on the field too long they will make your life a living hell.

The last mission can literally go die in a fire. It's doable of course, but you'll get frustrated at the sheer amount of enemies. So glad it's over with.

@Nokoyroslav I’ll update it to mention that it is possible. Another user said in the comments (in French) that he did it twice in coop and no pop. He said his friend did get it so they switched hosts but it didn’t work for him, so this may be finicky.

I have played all the last chapters in each mission (and some others) from start to finish (no joining half way through a level) in coop, and some solo, and not always was I the host, and I have NOT got this achievo to pop.

I have definitely done all the last chapters from start to finish...but not in the correct order, because i started the first one half way through when i joined someone else's session - so i went back to that one last (solo) after having done all the others: and still NO achievo.

I will replay some and see what happens....ho hum....

Hey, wookie.... I'm willing to bet your achievement won't pop unless you do all last parts of each mission in either coop or solo play. Splitting them up like that screws people over when going for 4 player and Hard so I'm assuming this will be the same.

Yeah... I just looked at the "complete campaign on hard difficulty" achievo and folk have written there that it is best to do the last chapters......

ALL SOLO or ALL COOP : not a combination of the two.

Probably need to do them in the correct order too.

Oh well.... back to the grinding stone I go .......!!!!!!

I did this with a friend & we did this in Order.. Only the last chapter. And it popped right away. What we also did endet after the game gave us the points at the end etc. And jumped to the next one. Thanks for the solution :)

There is a bug or a problem with this achievement, first I did in cooperative the last mission of each chapter ... the achievement did not work (my partner succeeded) ... I did not.
Then I have done all the levels in nightmare alone ... and neither ... This is a nightmare ...

I do solo (no open match) mission 1-6 (only last chapters), for mission 7-9 I host a game with a friend because 7-9 are really a nightmare. My achievements unlocked immediately at the endscreen. No problems. (Friend will we see tomorrow when he is hosting 7-9)

We started yesterday with the the last chapters of missions 1-4 but I think we made the first big mistake and did not quit after the medals/points.. we continued and it loaded up automatically the first chapter of the next mission and then we quit out 🤬
Should we continue or what??
maybe it‘s already disrupted and we‘ll never got this..

Does not matter. I always quit the game after into loading the next aka first mission and got the achievement without any issues, also I mix as I written solo / online together.

I have played all "Last chapters" in nightmare coop : no achievo.
I then went on to play EVERY SINGLE CHAPTER in nightmare both solo and coop, some of them many many times: No achievo.

Achievement is glitched for me and others.

I suggest telling Rebellion to fix their broken achievement.

I have made several claims in Rebellion support and they do not answer or say anything ... They only send the automatic message: " we have received your claim ..."

The achievement is bugged, sometimes it works perfectly and sometimes it doesn't. You may or may not be lucky. This is a malfunctioning achievement = broken achievement.
in my particular case I was unlucky and if you look at Discord, PS and Steam forums, many players have the achievement bugged.

Far be it for Rebellion to do anything right - but you should not have to play campaign through on HARD to unlock NIGHTMARE. EASY should suffice. Also, note that NIGHTMARE is not a difficulty mode - it is an enemy setup mode - like "default, for 1 player, for 2 player" etc. - so it will not appear in the DIFFICULTY menu, but in the Enemy Setup menu.

Didn't work for my co-op partner and I. Only doing the last section in each chapter, I hosted every time. No connection issues. Did all bar the final boss battle in one sitting. Neither of us got anything.

I just closed the game on nightmare difficulty and achievement didn't pop up, not to mention that in the last stage, right after leaving the shelter and killing all enemies, the game won't let me through, this is definitely frustrating

@thiagojump85, final mission i had the same exact issue, all i ended up doing was shutting the xbox off, and coming back to it the next day, and it let me progress. only major change i did, was focus snipers over everything instead of avoiding them, i was thinking maybe one was getting stuck somewhere.

This achievement glitched on me last night and after reading comments it doesn’t look good right now. Has anyone had it glitch and was able to later get the achievement by doing the last mission again or redoing the last chapters or the entire campaign?

Got it at my first try as host in two sessions.
My friend was at her third attempt and didn’t get it. I guess playing as host in a very linear and clean way may be the trick. We will try again with her as host.

avoid solo. host public and make the player 2 slot private if you wish to play alone. I got as guest with wifes account. I just earned as host on my account. My struggle was very timely. It wasn't popping (I believe because I got stuck on solo and never returned, have no idea really tho lol) so I deleted and played as a brand new boy. There is an xp farm video that i did for about 20 lvls (youtube mission one chap two farm xp by manipulating the Z challenge of 75 explosions) you need to be 35 just to have all 5 perk slots available. playing nightmare levels you fast... collecting collectables unlocks perks to help you find more collectables which gain you perks. I played thru campaign mostly easy 1 player setting some 4 player setting. helped many a newb find upgrade kits and eventually got a carry on last boss. ended a level 60 some and done.... its a good feel. on my reset play though I played every chapter up to rotten coast and then only last chapters from there on and not in order.

I did this stupid shit all missions with all chapters on both coop (by myself) and solo from start to finish and still this achievement didn't unlock for me. I feel so robbed by this stupid ass game. I was going to get the DLCs but not anymore fuck this game.

Has anyone tried deleting their save data and starting from scratch to see if they're able to pop this? I was lucky to have it pop playing in co-op when the update came out, but my co-op partner was not as fortunate. He only wants to delete the save data and start over if he knows others have tried it and been successful.

It seems that you either get this achievement to unlock perfectly the first time, or it's completely bugged. Haven't seen a single person have it get bugged then manage to unlock it by playing through again

I wanted to add that I did this co-op, being the host and my partner got it and I didn't. I needed to DELETE THE SAVE, level up a little (at least up to level 35 to unlock the fifth skill slot) and then he hosted the campaign, because it requires you to complete the whole story mode at least once to unlock the Nightmare mode (ha, I completed this disgusting story like 3 times at least).

I finally unlocked it that way. Hope it helps somebody. Good luck

Finished the last chapter only the other day and neither I or my partner got the achievement. We then played the last chapter of every mission in one sitting and still no achievement. Now before we play the entire level through (all chapters) is this just broken? Is it cause we haven’t done the dlc levels?

You are welcome @ViaFix! There is still hope!! Go forth, definitely doable!

I wanted to say I noted something "weird" on my first try (when I didn't get the achievement) and was that my character's selection (skin and so on) got reset every single time I launched the game. This wasn't happening since day 1 but something in my developer head tells me there was a bug related to this and it wans't counting the completed chapters at all.

@Killer8756 you have to complete at least the last chapter of every episode (excluding DLCs). If you have done so, you got glitched as others got. In that case, you would be able to delete the savegame and do it again, but someone will have to carry you hosting the nightmare mode since the game will ask you to complete the campaign again (again!) to unlock that mode.

The idea of starting the entire check point before reaching another ( which you don't know where it is) to refill your second chance is mad. Surely you would restart the checkpoint or safe house the minute you lost it?

This achievement is still pretty buggy. I have tried to delete my save and finished level 9 three times now and it has not worked for me. I even tried to beat the last level solo and the achievement still has not unlocked.

I got to chapel 4 in zombie zoo but by then my co op partner and me had no med kits or revives left so without those it’s practically impossible, I like a challenge but this nightmare mode is ridiculously difficult

I just got this solo on a new save for PC ( I wasn't comfortable permanently deleting my Xbox progress) I think the game bugs out when you do some missions solo and the rest coop. Can anyone confirm if they got the achievement by doing some missions solo and the others coop? I also only did the last chapters of each level

Yeah o8oCHAINSAWo8o , I was wondering what went wrong with my initial playthrough and I remembered I played with several different random players in a public lobby, whom most of the time quit out of the game when things got too difficult. I even deleted my cloud save and did everything solo on my Xbox and nothing worked. But when I played with my sister, we completed the final chapters of each level and she got the achievement, but I still did not. This is such a weird bug.

I did missions 1 to 3 solo and all chapters didn’t find it hard but with mission 4 I’ve had to jump to last chapter, at the moment I’m at the final section on mission 4 but it’s still extremely difficult.

I am using Jun, this time I have a revive and med kit left at the final section (where u have to plant 2 satchel bags) but its still extremely difficult hardest thing I’ve done since COD world at war veteran difficulty. Too many heavies and zombie officers.

Can confirm that this achievement is still bugged i did the hole campaign in co op with my brother and i was the host the hole time and he got the achievement and i didn't (host) i have also sent them a email regarding this bug achievement as its one of the last achievements i need and after spending so much money on all the dlc for them to do this and not fix it is wrong and very disappointing. As its not a 5min achievement that can just be re done in one night this took us about 10nights roughly to do it playing for about 4 hours a night that's a long time for a achievement that i didn't even get.

They added an icon to the mission select menu to indicate if it had been cleared on nightmare mode. The indicator was there for me on all base game missions, yet no achievement. Fucking joke.

So I read through the comments and this achievement sounds horribly glitched. So I’ve also gathered it doesn’t matter whether you host or join a game coop, it may or may not unlock for the host or person joining. Anyone have any tips from the comment section to maximize potentially getting this?

last mission with tank when you are in the part of 9 cannons. to much enemies. after many tries we got at 4/9 and i lost connection to the game.

the big guys with mini-gun are hard to kill. all my weapons mastered and perks i use are all max.

any tips to do this?

@ Belgianplayer1, I was able to do most of it solo with Gold level perks Second chance, Pistol ammo pouch, rifle ammo pouch, Enhanced vigor and rejuvenation. I also used the MP44 on the last mission to make quick work of the heavies while bursting headshots.

I too am doing it solo but currently suck on mission 4. I can get to final area but too many zombies running towards you constantly.

Tip for last level

1. Do it in co-op if you can
2. For the first part you can stay in your camp/safe room and let the enemies come to you, guaranteeing that you have full health + medkit for next part.
3. Second stage where you face the giant tank machine you need to dispatch the Screamer first as number one priority, use the Divine MG
4. Run around the perimeter of the map, when in space take some shots against the tank.
5. Focus always on just staying alive.
6. In final part where you face the tank again, same tactic, keep moving, staying alive.
7. Don't get frustrated, will be highly likely that you will wipe a few times.

Just to let people know I did this out of order and with a mixture of solo and coop. I also did full missions send only last part. I was host everytime when coop. My partner got the achievement when we did the last mission.Therefore as long a you get the green nightmare symbol you will be OK.

I unlocked this today and so did my friend. To confirm what others have said, if you are wanting to do this now it can be easily accomplished. As long as you both receive the Green Skull on each level (back out to Main Menu and click host to see each level) then you both will be fine.

We just did the last level on easy/nightmare... It's no joke! Unless hard doesn't add much to the difficulty, easy is what everyone should go for.. lol

I completed this solo but there is a hack of sorts that let's you run 4 player Nightmare lobbies. I have tested this and confirm that it works on Xbox; you can also set the difficulty to easy, it doesn't have to be Brutal as the video suggests (nor would I recommend it!)

I unlocked it yesterday. A few comments for it. The most hard part will be the 2nd phase, when you have to kill 5 turrets. The terrain is not good and you get stuck in between enemies and things. Move and shoot a few times to the turrets as much as you can. The worst part is the 4th phase, which has 9 turrets but, there is a game checkpoint after you destroy the 4th (4/9). Use it to your advantage. If your partner dies and only one keep playing, it is easier to quit and rejoin the game instead of waiting for a checkpoint. I revived my partner 5 times during the chapter and the connection went down once, and she was able to rejoin the game, and got the cheevo.
I used the Mortar Shotgun with the mastery, I believe it is the most important component to finish the level successfully. I scored over 1 million with a highest combo of 569, that did on the last part with the bunch of Hitlers

Right, I have definitely done all the “last chapters” in coop...and no achievo.

I suspect it might be because I have played other levels that are not “last chapters”, and so my save file will forever be tainted as such. So maybe I have to play ALL levels in nightmare mode.

So, probably if you are doing the “last chapters” trick....ONLY play those chapters, and no others in nightmare mode.

UPDATE: I have now played the whole campaign through ... (every horrid nightmare level) and no achievo. Definitely glitched for me.

I can confirm that this achievement is not broken, I took it after killing the hitler, make sure I ended the campaign on the difficult difficulty before playing nightmare and all the last missions in each cap. 13/05/2021

I can confirm if your doing it in co op, if your partner lags out or game crashes, as long as they join back before the chapter ends it will count. My friends game crashed as we killed the Hell Machine and joined back while killing the hitler clones and he still got the achievement

the achievement is bugged .. sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
I've been talking on Discord with a Rebellion developer (on the official Rebellion channel) ... because they don't say anything on the support. He asked me to send him the "save" of the game .. and people from the channel recommended me to do this:
" You can always backup your save somewhere, delete the current file, and once you get your achievements--restore your old save. Sometimes that needs to be done "
But I am not sure how to do it ... that is, I delete the game saved in the cloud and in the console and start again (character with level 0 = many overtime hours to finish nightmare mode) ... then, if I'm lucky I get the achievement but it may fail again .....
And then I delete all the save files again and .... how do I add the initial save? I don't even know how to save the initial save?

Rebellion should do is FIX IT and not make weird inventions ...

-Use checkpoints wisely. If you lose your downs from second chance and are in bad shape, reload checkpoint so each checkpoint you still have some resources to get you to the end

@Arron114 It is true, but maybe the wording isn’t clear. If you lose downs and are in bad shape BEFORE you reach the next checkpoint, then just reload checkpoint and try again and it will restore your status as of the last checkpoint. I did not mean you can reload at a checkpoint and it will revert you to original load out. Unless an update changed this, which I doubt, this still holds true. I should have been more clear with the wording, but I think most of the audience understood as this is a common feature in most games.

@Ozzie, yes, this is unfortunate since they have continued to release content without a fix. Hopefully they will fix in the near future, but I haven’t found any evidence that they will. Of course you can technically get the achievement by deleting the local save, but this shouldn’t have to be resorted to…

I'm not 100% sure, but in order for the achievement to pop in co-op you must have already completed the campaign solo or as the host (i.e each chapter of each mission). So if you've completed the campaign fully, then you can jump into a co-op session, play the last chapter of each mission on hard, or nightmare mode, and then it should pop.

Played through Solo and got it when I should have. Accidentally pressed continue instead of quit for Mission 3 so thought I might have messed it up but quit during the cutscene and had no issues.

Personally, I found the Lee-Enfield (high power with crazy fast reload when upgraded), Shotgun Mortar (makes hordes trivial), and M1911 (just personal preference I guess), the best load out, but the former two are Season Pass guns.

Has anyone who did not get the achievement the first time able to get it by doing it again? Because from what I'm reading here, it seems people have tried multiple times without success.

It seems that once "broken" the achievement is forever broken on your save game. I had this happen to me in other games before, and the ONLY way to fix it, was to completely erase my save file and start again.

In this case, this sucks A LOT, because you would need to level up again, do the whole game again, get perks and all that. And also doing the whole campaign on that stupid difficulty level is a pain and takes a lot of time, just to see if it finally works...

I would say the best bet on this case is to bother Rebellion to fix their broken mess of an update. They keep milking us for money, they release 2 years later an stupid new difficulty level and they even can't get their shit working right. I hope they go under after this game, I have enjoyed Rebellion games a lot in the past, but they pulled the dickiest of moves with Zombie Army 4 and those 3 season passes of content no one seems to like for 10g each DLC.

Just throwing in a few extra tips...

Hardest part for us was Hell Base, the very first area with enemies spawning everywhere. Blind screamers making you cover your ears and a near limitless supply of the purple armoured zombies. Just keep running laps and keeping the zombs in the middle.

Use takedowns on the Blind Screamers, if you have trouble running around them, use the Divine Melee to stun them for a second, get behind and takedown.

Best weapons I found were the Shotgun Mortar and Shotgun Pistol (divine), both are in the free Season Pass 1.

For perks, we didn't take Second Wind (or whatever) instead went with Reduced Melee, Reduced Explosive, Reduced when near Teammate, More Health, More Regen. Reduced Explosive was key for the final level and helped with the Shotgun Mortar if it was a bit close when running around zombies.

All in all, it was pretty easy, aside from that Hell Base starting area. The actual area at the end was a breeze.

Just noticed a weird bug that wouldn't matter too much except when trying to get through nightmare. I'm working on nightmare solo and sometimes I'll quit after getting a checkpoint planning to return the next day. I'm playing on a series x. I noticed that if I return to the game after powering down without fully quitting the game first, "quick resume" will place me right back in the game where I left without going through a full reload of the game. That's normal and usually good thing.

But the problem is that occasionally when I return to the game through quick resume the character is changed to Shola. I've been using Jun. The rest of the loadout is unchanged. This sucks because I can't change the character back without restarting the mission. First time it happened I thought I had somehow accidentally started with Shola. But the next time, I knew it definitely changed the character mid-mission.

So the tip is to always fully quit the game before powering down to make sure the character is saved and then reload. I'm on 2nd to last part of Death Machine nightmare and now I have to either continue using Shola who doesn't have the speed and stamina of Jun or restart the whole mission.

Update: I just found a way to change the character back without losing the checkpoint. I exited to the main menu, went to select mission as though I was going to restart the mission, reselected Jun but then backed out and hit "continue mission" instead. When the checkpoint loaded, Jun was back. Note: this only works to change the character and not the loadout. I also changed some of the weapons - wanted to use shotgun mortar - but still had original loadout.

After version 1.30 you need to complete the entire campaign on Nightmare.
Completing the final chapters of each mission will not unlock the trophy.
PS: and this is good, a real challenge for players (as this mode initially indicates).
On "Nightmare" the zombie respawn is completely different than in the "regular" game, which will be a pleasant surprise.
Upgrade your guns to platinum and go into battle!
I recommend using perks designed for survival + finding a good partner.

PS: many users are complaining that they completed the entire campaign on Nightmare with the current patch 1.32 and the trophy did not drop.
Apparently, after patch 1.30 the developers broke the trophy.
Write to the game's technical support and wait for a fix.
I will edit the tip as soon as reliable information becomes available.

PPS: Version 1.33, completing the last chapters of each mission + completing the entire company from start to finish = the trophy does not drop.
We are waiting for the next patch, but it’s better to write to support. The more requests there are, the greater the likelihood that the trophy will be corrected.

You need to reset all saves and start the game from scratch.
We run on easy level, we get access to the Nightmare.
We go through the last chapters on difficulty - easy, setting up enemies is a nightmare.
We played on PS4 together, the host received the trophy immediately, the second player after the credits!

We completed the regime literally in two passes. On the first evening, half of the missions and the next day we finished off the remaining missions in order, all the chapters in their entirety. The trophy fell to both players.
By the way, the mode is designed only for no more than two players.
There were a couple of times when the connection was lost or crashed with an error, then we started the same chapter from the shelter. And also a bug happened a couple of times in the mission “Hell Base” where you need to call the elevator, after clearing all the enemies, the doors should have opened, but nothing happened to us, even after several attempts to replay after CT from the shelter. I had to completely go to the menu, close the game and create a new lobby from the same chapter. Therefore, if something similar happens to you, then feel free to go to the menu, the trophy will eventually count)
The perks included the following:

It is advisable to upgrade all your perks to gold, this will increase your chances of survival.
A perk for protection from fire, you can notice a perk for increasing ammo, because very often there is not enough of it... but the perk for fire helps well in protecting against flamethrowers.
For the final battle, you can take the perk for running and stamina (Stamina), because the main point is to only run and shoot only at targets, otherwise it is not necessary to kill enemies, except at the very end.

I was a host on PS4, a friend on PS5
If you are worried that the trophy will be bugged, make a save file before going to this difficulty, so that if something happens, you can return the save. My partner went through the second time, through backup. The first time in solo he didn’t get a trophy, but there’s still a chance that he might just get tired and not complete one of the 4 episodes. Therefore, at the end, always look at the progress so that all episodes and missions are counted.

21.05. Patch 1.33. Knocked out on PS 4. My friend and I went through all the chapters on a nightmare, both got the trophy, we went through it for about a week or two, playing several missions every other day after work.

For those who really have a hard time, I advise you to buy the first DLS, which includes a Grenade weapon. It’s just an imba-gun, even an unpumped one, which completely breaks the balance and, in principle, makes the sniper unnecessary, and the pistol, in principle, too.
