How to unlock the This calls for divine intervention! achievement in Zombie Army Trilogy - Definitive Guide

Hello and welcome to my guide,

Firstly, Despite what some people claim you will unlock this achievement by choosing enemies for one player setting in a quick match game, this is confirmed by myself and Crimson Elf 94

There are a few ways of doing this and I will list them all but the easiest way is to search for a quick match game until YOU or a friend find your own lobby!!!

If you join another players lobby they can leave or restart the game at anytime they choose, if they leave you lose all progress for that level.

When you or a friend finds your own lobby (no one in it but you or them) invite each other and use the following settings:

GAME SETTINGS
Sniper Elite difficulty
Enemies set for ONE PLAYER!
Friendly fire OFF

Primary weapon: Any bolt action
Secondary weapon: Shotgun
Pistol: Any

Choose 4 grenades
Choose 1 land mine

Now when you start the game you will have randoms join eventually, they will at best help you and at worst be cannon fodder!

Never risk your own life by trying to run out and revive someone in front of an elite soldier, kill the elite first.

The game is very easy on SE difficulty when set to one players worth of enemies.

ENEMIES AND HOW TO DEFEAT THEM
Super Heavy: has MG42- you must kill him with multiple headshots or many explosives

"Panzer Zombies": heavily armored zombies, aim under the head, neck area, or shoot head from behind. (Preacher shotgun recommend, read below)

" kamikaze zombie ": They explode a grenade at close range, shoot them before they explode.

Snipers: look for a green vapor trail, they jump many times from roof to roof, 2 body shots or one headshot.

Chainsaw zombie: again headshots kill them, just don't allow him to get close and your good.

Armor zombies: they look like regular zombies with riot gear on, headshots or shotgun body blasts.

Summoners: these guys just spawn more zombies over and over, the only thing that kills them is a headshot

Standard zombie, headshots, body shots, or explosives....they are easy kills.

Remember most enemies die quickly from headshots.

The Preacher shotgun
In every level there will be one or very rarely two preacher shotguns, there will be ammo next to the shotgun itself and you can sometimes loot ammo off zombies but it does seem to be a 5 to 10% loot chance (2 rounds)

The Preacher will take down hordes of zombies and " boss " zombies as well. It is by far the strongest gun in the game!

The next way to do this is solo, I don't recommend it!
Its always better to have a partner to revive you and chat with. Also some users report progress is not showing up when they play solo.

Another way is 4 player coop, with people you know or boost with, which is ideal but sometimes its hard to find players willing to play or boost the same time as you which is why I have given the quick match method priority.

*UPDATE

Even if a gamer drops out of the game and re-enters or enters an ongoing session, like if you're in the middle of a level and he joins, he still gets the Sniper Elite 3 Stars and the level achievement if he doesn't have it.

If you only want you and your friend to be in the lobby, why not use the Private Match function instead?

I have no idea, I have never played solo honestly but I do remember my friend saying something about solo not counting for this on a level he did in SE difficulty.

Uhhh are you serious!? lOL!!!

You realize that you can make your own guide right?!

I didn't modify my solution because in my opinion your additions were long and not needed, also I have read from many solutions that people want smaller guides not longer ones....also you clearly took a lot of time to write all of that out so I didn't want to take credit for it.....you should definitely tone yourself down a little bit because calling people assholes for not adding your info is a little immature and over the top.

You can add one thing for it:

Even if a gamer drops out of the game and re-enters or enters an ongoing session, like if you're in the middle of a level and he joins, he still gets the Sniper Elite 3 Stars and the level achievement if he doesn't have it.

@CounterInsurgnt

I have yet to play this game, but I will do exactly what you posted in your guide once I start the game with a friend.
Nice job!

"butthurt community" Awesome. I can see you are a tad disgruntled about your solution being removed....as I would be as well. Perhaps it was just little grammar things like "written for childs" that you may have skipped over while doing your final edit. Either way your additions were helpful to the initial solution. Thanks, Ehrenfried.

Question if we beat it on SE got 3 stars then went back to redo a level on cadet will we have to SE again. We missed a bottle then gold bar in 2 levels.

I thought I'd add for confirmation: you can absolutely do these same settings in private matches. My partner and I vastly preferred not having any randoms fucking things up for us.

Yeah, Rebellion likes doing that for some reason. Sniper Elite 3 has the same problem.

Also on more than one occasion I've gone back to replay a level on cadet (for collectables) and it has forgotten that I've previously finished it on Sniper Elite (all private matches) - had to replay them.

Hey

I need two more players for this achievement. We will do the " You're so dead, you don't even know it" achievement also.
Please send me a msg if you would join the fun.

Progress does not combine on any difficulty. After cooping the whole game, I had no singleplayer progress at all.

Please add to the solution!
The progress DOES combine.
I completed first 3 levels in Solo on Elite difficulty, and all the others in coop, i still have 0 stars on first 3 levels in coop but got an achievement!

hey man, we had some confusion on how to get this achievement. Members of my boosting party thought it had to be in a public match, as opposed to a private match. We ended up getting it in a private match, can u specify that private matches work? ty, plus 1.

Don't forget the "Fire Demons", the big guys who summon a ring of firey zombies around them, which will suicide charge you. I think it was head shots when they're no on fire is how you do damage to them? The summoned zombies die in one hit or disappear and injure you on contact.

Man this butthurt community is pissing me off.
I posted the same solution, just with fewer words and not written for childs and it got removed.

And you forgot to mention that the progress for SE difficulty counts seperate for co-op and single player.
What if i play a chapter or an entire episode on SE in solo and the others in co-op,
will it still count?

I managed to get the achievement with a buddy, and can confirm that this method works.
(Skill: Sniper elite, Enemy Setup: 1 Player)

And honestly it wasn't that hard.
The preacher wasn't needed except for the last level, it made a few spots faster, but not easier. So in my opinion you don't need to search every level for the preacher.

I also found a little "trick" for the weapons you use.
Since the game cheats on SE difficulty with the wind marker, shows it moving INDOORS and UNDERGROUND (!) you can bypass the wind adjustment by simpl not targeting through the ADS.
I played on SE mostly with the shotgun and all explosives i could find, and when i used my sniper i mostly never used the ADS because the wind marker only works or needs to be considered when you ADS with your rifle.

I completed a chapter in Sinper Elite and got my 3 stars. Later I went back Solo and completed the same chapter again but in Cadet. I lost my 3 stars. They were replaced by 1. Solo and Online Co-Op are tracked separately but both had 1 star.

Rebellion have a weird way of displaying progress - I created a private game/Sniper Elite difficulty/4 players enemy setup+4 players actually playing - end of chapter I (the host) and one other player got 3 stars the other 2 players did not - Rebellion, please simply just have icons/markers, etc to show completion via co-op or solo - it's not that difficult and makes it easier for us to interpret your design decisions ffs- so I'm thinking the stars change on the fly instead of being a permanent feature and the completion status is hidden from us.....no wonder their games are glitchy lol EDIT: Will keep playing private matches on SE difficulty and report back whether achievement pops for all 4 of us HTH

I just discovered a glitch to complete each mission invite a friend load up the mission and have your friend invite you accept the invite and it will bring you back to the lobby only your friend will have to mission complete so you will have to take turns I only discovered this on the last mission and the achievement popped that’s how I know it worked I made another account and it’s coming up missions have been completed. Give it a try and let me know if it works for you

Nice glitch. However, I am not sure if english is your first language. It was very confusing to understand what you were saying. I still have given you a + vote.
Just to clarify for others :-
1. Have a friend create a lobby for the mission you want the sniper elite completion on. Friend choses Difficulty = sniper elite.
2. The person who needs mission completed joins the friend's lobby.
3. Friend launches the mission
4. After you launch the mission and both you have spawned, the second player (who needs completion) invites the same friend into the game. This will trigger you getting kicked out of the mission and in the lobby screen.
That's it.
5. Second player - leaves lobby and can now go back and verify by selecting the same mission to confirm it is showing "completed" on sniper elite difficulty.
6. Rinse and repeat the above steps for all the missions you need to be completed on sniper elite.
confirmed this works as of 5th July 2021 on last few missions I needed to get sniper elite completed.
One thing to note that my friend had all the missions completed on sniper elite before I did this. Not sure it matters if you need a friend who has completed these missions previously on sniper elite.
Nice find THK Reconzz :-)

You DO NOT need a friend who has completed the missions before on Sniper Elite difficulty.

Chaotically written, no punctuation, seems like a 12 year old wrote this. After reading TORNADO0fSOULZ clarification, it finally makes sense.

This still works as of 23/10/22, thank you to Recon for finding this method, and Tornado for clearing up the wording.

A few things to note:

If you haven't previously completed any/all of the levels, you'll get the level specific achievements too.
You don't need either player to have previously completed the game, in private campaign co-op all levels are unlocked and selectable anyway.
I'd advise waiting until you're both fully loaded in and the objective in the top left disappears. It only takes a few seconds, but I found occasionally when I accepted the second invite to leave the game too quickly, it wouldn't pop the achievements or credit the level as being completed.

Thanks to THK ReConZz (the OP) and TORNADO0fSOULZ for clarifying.
My family and I had completed all the missions on Sniper Elite difficulty legit on default loadout, except we could NOT complete The Keep mission as it always kicked us out of the game at some point before the level ended (tried switching hosts but this failed too). This solution will solve that - so many many thanks again :-) NOTE: All Xboxes/Series X's on different ISP's and in different houses....

Thanks for this solution. Myself and 3 friends played through the entire game on SE difficulty but for some reason, this achievement didn't pop when we finished the final level despite us all having the individual level marks for completing on SE difficulty

I'd already read this solution ahead of time so suggested we try it. Done this with each of the 3 others in my group and we all popped it after doing this on just the final level so thank you very much for this

To earn this trophy you must complete all 15 missions on Sniper Elite difficulty. It is recommended to play with more than one player in co-op with Enemy Spawn set to ‘For One Player, as you will encounter many survival areas where there are waves of zombies, heavy gunners, fire demons, suicide bombers. You can play on Solo but it will take much longer and is more difficult.

General tips for playing on Sniper Elite difficulty:

  • Look for the Preacher shotgun in each level - The preacher is like a super-shotgun and is good for racking up your combo. Otherwise equip the Shotgun in your load out before starting each level.
  • Traps for Super Elites - Place loads of land mines, trip mines, dynamite when you see a Super Elite. Lure him into the trap and then chuck some hand grenades at him. Get in some headshots and he will be dead before you know it, just don't get caught in his blast.
  • Explosives that flash red - Save these for when there is a big group of zombies. These are also good to help get you the explosive kills trophy.
  • Always check for snipers - Snipers jump from roof to roof and a clean headshot will take them down easily.
  • Suicide bombers - These bombers run fast, to shoot them before they get to you. Make sure you don't get caught in the blast.
  • Ammo - Make sure you loot as many enemy bodies as you can to obtain explosives and ammunition.

You can unlock this solo or in co-op campaign. I'd recommend co-op as solo can be quite frustrating, time consuming and difficult. If you create a private co-op campaign with some people, set the difficulty to 'Sniper Elite' and enemy spawns to '1 Player' you can quite easily do this without many issues. Unfortunately you cannot make a public game solo unless you fail joining an already created game and are given your own lobby.

It’s easier to do it online with connected players; if they kill you, they can at least heal you.
