The South American-specific animals that can produce colour variants are:

- Alpacas
- Cougars
- Jaguars
- Llamas

Any species of these animal type will count towards the achievement. To improve your chances of breeding a colour variant, ensure you have a level 3 breeding facility with a staff member assigned to the exhibit you want. This is not necessary, but will speed things up considerably by increasing your chancing of breed a colour variant. Also, make sure your exhibits have enough space for a baby and that the animals in the exhibit are happy, as these improve chances of breeding more generally.

To get the achievement, ensure that a male and a female of one of these animals is in an exhibit, follow the above steps and then wait. Should take about half an hour or so with a level 3 breeder assigned to the exhibit, but there is an element of chance. If the exhibit fills up with non-colour variant offspring, sell them.
